Right? I was like "Cool, MCR cover on a singing show thing" then PTX came out and I was like, "WHY HAVEN'T I EVER SEEN THIS? I'VE SPENT HOURS LOOKING UP PTX AND MCR THINGS!"
Scott's like, "Yo, I got a sould voice. YYYYYeeeEEEEaaaaAAAAAhhhhHHHHH!!" Also, I came here for MCR, and when Ptx I had more reason to keep watching. XD
I love how you can hear avi and kevin just goes to show the other groups have nothing on ptx and also you can hear scott singing over everyone else toward the end (idk correct terminology soz)
That's because Avi's is one of the two deepest basses that have been on the sing off, And Kevin is DEFINITELY the best beat boxer in the history of Sing-Off.
+seaun atchison Kevin is the best beat-boxer ever! And the other one is Tim Foust from Home Free in season 4 they are super amazing bass's. Home Free and Avi have done 2 videos together Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire which Avi sings on and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget which he just cameo's in.
Love How Scott Hoying got attention for PTX by riffing and running louder then the mass of people, including that sick falsetto bit he did!! Flawless! There's like 3-4 bits where his voice is audibly attention grabbing :)
+Vicmar Marvic Well the first version came out in 2010 and they did Sing it for Japan which had an orchestra and more stuff to it for the event that happened there.
I just discovered Pentatonix through one of their YT vids and then saw their dog days performance on this show that was one of the sickest performance i've seen acapella (and i saw Boyz II Men in concert in '93 whom imo is the greatest acapella group ever), so much so that I watched all their performances on this show. Then it made me want to check out the other groups on the show. So I'm here because of Pentatonix. But @ 2:24 the "keep running" was corny as hell and you know Scott's probably thinking the same thing in his head
I heard that PTX had a song called Sing and got excited because I thought it was MCR. Then I was disappointed and resigned myself to the idea that they didn't have a cover of MCR. And now I've found this video. Today is a good day.
Scott's got the runs if you know what i mean. Lol but seriously. dang. I think I've found my favorite group for this year. Last year my favorite voice was jeremy lister. Particularly in fix you and use somebody. I look forward to hearing more of scott and his amazing voice.
everybody's here for pentatonix and talking about them and I'm just here not knowing who anyb of them are and sobbing cause mcr, Gerard would love this though
Somebody send this to the MCR members plz. Based on earlier reactions to people, I think that the reactions would be(these are not at all serious) Ray: ppl still listen to us wow Frank: Wow this is good but it's we did it better *king of twitter swag* Mikey: *pokerface still not broken* wow... Gerard: ...They can't duplicate my sass...
There is only one portion of this song that I actually enjoy, and it is pentatonix' portion from :21 to :39 and it is purely because there is this "ba-dee-da-da" call and response going on in the background that is unbelievably cool to listen to. Otherwise, I agree that it wasn't too great of a group performance, but then, there weren't too many great groups here either compared to last week.
You kinda hear each group's own style and sound when they sing their parts. Sonos have that sparsity going on, Pentatonix had techno, you could hear North Shore's doo-wops, etc.
Okay I'm late but can we talk about how Scott carried this song, it takes a certain type of voice for My Chemical Romance in order for it to sound right. (This is coming from a former Emo who treasured My Chemical Romance). Honestly I would pay to hear Scott Hoying do a cover of this in full. I feel like he has the voice to do so.
@appletreesubs: No--he first two episodes introduced two brackets of eight groups. Once each bracket gets whittled down to five groups, they'll be merged into a single bunch of ten groups, and I assume the rest of the season will play out like Season 2 from that point.
I love MCR and I enjoy this song, but I really don't think it's necessary for it to sound AS poppy as it does. It's a positive song, but it's not as poppy as it's been made to sound here.
I wish I got to see them in concert when they were still a band though haha. I know they disbanded quite awhile ago, I meant I'd like each former member of MCR could see this :p
I love how the first time we see PTX sing ever they are singing "Sing" and would go on to have a huge hit (not like MCR huge, but still) called "Sing" later on. LMAO. That's too funny.
pahaha Scott definitely outshone everyone else up there. It's obvious these were the weaker groups with the exception of Pentatonix and Dartmouth Aires.
I love My Chemical Romance and Pentatonix but I felt like there wasn't any real emotion to it. My heart actually sank because this is a truly amazing and powerful song but the emotion is not there, as if this song means nothing to them personally.
They do show emotion. They are happy because they get to sing on the Sing Off. They got the chance to show their talent to the whole world. Even if it was only for a day or for weeks. They were happy to be there, with everyone singing together and the audience cheering for them.
It pisses me off that the worst group of all these 8, the collective, is still in while 5 more talented and better sounding groups have been eliminated
What I was wondering was, on these opening numbers, are they vocally choreographed (sorry, don't know the correct terminology for that) for the groups or are they allowed to put their own vocal 'spin' on their section or the line they individually sing. Pentatonix's section def seemed in their style and some of the others too!
Mixed opinions in the cover, but we can all agree on one thing: Scott killed the "keep running" part (And in my opinion also the older dude, I mean look at that passions, he knelt to the floor)
The harmonization during the chorus has Ben Fold's mark all over it.... sounds a little like the song he did with Dartmouth towards the end of the season.
Contrary to most of the people here, I love MCR with my whole heart, but I really like what they did for this song and I think that the people hating on this are incorrect, but that's just my opinion
i love it how i can hear scott's riffs even when everybody were singing
Same
u know ur obsessed with pentatonix when u can pick scotts riffs out from the entire groups lmao
Scott's "keep running" at 2:25 is possibly the cutest thing ever

Cool
Pickle Gerard me too mate
I love how you can hear avi and kevin just goes to show the other groups have nothing on ptx and also you can hear scott singing over everyone else toward the end (idk correct terminology soz)
No matter how many people you add you can still pick out Pentatonix, but mainly Kevin and Avi.

I find it funny that they were singing a song called "Sing" back on the SO and now on their self-titled album, they have a song called "Sing"
Jennifer Jiang When I saw that song on their album I thought it was mcr's Sing and I was very disappointed when it wasn't
and uh, Na Na Na
KEEP RUNNING
IM ACTUALLY MCRYING OKAY THIS IS NOT OKAY
I'M NOT OKAY (I PROMISE)
+Rawr xD don't cry, craft
oh the feels, all those phandoms are so beautiful and ruined my life
Pentatonix : number is not quality
Tell that to Soul'd Out.
I love how they're all singing an emo song
lol ikr
The song was made for the people in Japan when that huge accident happened i think back in 2012. So yeah an emo song....
+Vicmar Marvic Well the first version came out in 2010 and they did Sing it for Japan which had an orchestra and more stuff to it for the event that happened there.
Scott was the only lead singer with a solid voice
Don't forget Michael
Northshore's lead too
@@dhietheowrgh912Definitely also North Shore guy.
i came here for MCR
THEN I HEARD SCOTT AND I WAS LIKE:
woah WOAH wOaH WHAT
I just discovered Pentatonix through one of their YT vids and then saw their dog days performance on this show that was one of the sickest performance i've seen acapella (and i saw Boyz II Men in concert in '93 whom imo is the greatest acapella group ever), so much so that I watched all their performances on this show. But @ 2:24 the "keep running" was corny as hell and you know Scott's probably thinking the same thing in his head
I heard the "palala" at 0:22 and immediatly recognized PTX... help, I think I am a too big Pentaholic
Same
Search the sing off performance of the others they are so good also but they have performance that bad
You could hear scotts riffs all through out the performance
I like how in every single opening of that season, you can still here Avi and Kevin
Honestly, Pentatonix gave it an R&B spin to the vocals. It wasn't the best cover I've ever heard, but it was very good.
I heard that PTX had a song called Sing and got excited because I thought it was MCR. Then I was disappointed and resigned myself to the idea that they didn't have a cover of MCR. And now I've found this video. Today is a good day.
I love 2:22 where three beatboxers get together!
Scott's got the runs if you know what i mean. Lol but seriously. dang. I think I've found my favorite group for this year. Last year my favorite voice was jeremy lister. Particularly in fix you and use somebody. I look forward to hearing more of scott and his amazing voice.
When Pentatonix entered, all I could think how different they looked back then, and how far they've come
I SEE YOU PERSEUS
celestial potato I AM SEAWEED BRAIN (but only Annabeth gets to call me that)
+Kristine Silmaro PERCABETH HAHAHA
celestial potato Percabeth is life..... is it weird to talk about my own love life in that way? Guess so. Oh well. I'm gonna go eat some blue cake.
Kristine Silmaro I'll eat some blue cake as well lololol
They could have done this whole thing with only Sonos and Pentatonix.
i'm so glad scott was the one to say "keep running" also SCOTTS SO SMILEY AND CUTE IN THIS GODHSBDH
See those elders singing mychem made my day. Also ptx goals
Oh My God!!!! Scott sings my favorite place in this song!!!
everybody's here for pentatonix and talking about them and I'm just here not knowing who anyb of them are and sobbing cause mcr, Gerard would love this though
it's okay, at least you have a fellow phandom killjoy over here
Sidney I'm here for both
Somebody send this to the MCR members plz. Based on earlier reactions to people, I think that the reactions would be(these are not at all serious)
Ray: ppl still listen to us wow
Frank: Wow this is good but it's we did it better *king of twitter swag*
Mikey: *pokerface still not broken* wow...

Otherwise, I agree that it wasn't too great of a group performance, but then, there weren't too many great groups here either compared to last week.
2:24 THAT WAS SUCH A CUTE ENTHUSIASTIC "KEEP RUNNING" FROM SCOTT SLDJFLGKY
You kinda hear each group's own style and sound when they sing their parts. Sonos have that sparsity going on, Pentatonix had techno, you could hear North Shore's doo-wops, etc.
Before Penantonix was a worldwide sensation. Frankly I LOVE these "all the groups" numbers!
Scott is so freaking versitile! He can just switch genres, jump in with bass, cover the tenor, give soul. He's a beast, as the judges soundly noted!
@@hernameispekka_Rebecca Scott carried this song himself I swear on my life.
Hit it Scott!! Some cute riffs
Scott's runs are soo dominant amongst all those voices!!
@appletreesubs: No--he first two episodes introduced two brackets of eight groups. Once each bracket gets whittled down to five groups, they'll be merged into a single bunch of ten groups, and I assume the rest of the season will play out like Season 2 from that point.
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME... So great to hear today as the Occupy Movement moves forward.. YES!!!
I Love the way Dartmouth Aires came in!!. They have great stage presence!!!
1:56 railways -_- come on it's WEBWAYS and it's ppl MOVING sideways
MCR and Pentatonix related in one video? Dope
absolutely spectacular!! I wanna perform with them!!
Beautiful song of My Chemical Romance!!
WHEN IT GOT TO "keep running" I JUST SMILED AND GOT SO HAPPY THAT PEOPLE ARE RECOGNIZING MCR EVEN AFTER THEY- no
I like watching this and the other video. Everyone was all happy..and not yet eliminated.
More people should know about this show.
I love MCR and I enjoy this song, but I really don't think it's necessary for it to sound AS poppy as it does. It's a positive song, but it's not as poppy as it's been made to sound here.
ilove this song
watching these, it's funny to see all the groups that literally no one remembers😂
FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!!!
This is what I imagine world peace looks like
Pentatonix could ace this song alone
I wanna see MCR's reaction to this xD
honey........
Nelia Libago Gee would probably be like, "I didn't like their outfits."
Victoria is a trash can this mirror isn't big enough for the two of us
I wish I got to see them in concert when they were still a band though haha.
Fabulous ❣️❣️❣️❣️
2:23 Scotty😍
Dartmouth aires and the collective made me really look at this, they did good especially Dartmouth came out strong
pahaha Scott definitely outshone everyone else up there. It's obvious these were the weaker groups with the exception of Pentatonix and Dartmouth Aires.
PENTATONIX SINGING MCR I LOST IT
but so worth it
Perfect song choice
I seriously hope MCR have heard this, this is beautiful
I love My Chemical Romance and Pentatonix but I felt like there wasn't any real emotion to it. My heart actually sank because this is a truly amazing and powerful song but the emotion is not there, as if this song means nothing to them personally.

@picklesandshoelaces wow i din't know that...this is my first real time watching the show..i missed the first two seasons
It pisses me off that the worst group of all these 8, the collective, is still in while 5 more talented and better sounding groups have been eliminated

UGH TOTALLY NOT CRYING...........OKAY IM CRYING. I GOT SHIVERS WATCHING THIS
Pentatronix los mejores!!! Saludos desde Chile
I swear,Scott and the lead from Dartmouth Aires can do a duet.
Mixed opinions in the cover, but we can all agree on one thing: Scott killed the "keep running" part
(And in my opinion also the older dude, I mean look at that passions, he knelt to the floor)
dis is beautiful im crying and I cant stop and my parents are staring at me wierd
😂😂😂😂
They all have epic entrance
The harmonization during the chorus has Ben Fold's mark all over it.... sounds a little like the song he did with Dartmouth towards the end of the season.
Soul'd out has so much energy
60 microphones at the same time!? Holly!
I FUCKING WATCHED THIS WHOLE SEASON BUT I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT MCR AT THE TIME I JUST WATCHED IT FOR PTX AND NOW I KNOW THEY PERFORMED SING IM
Pentatonix
(I remember seeing this when it was on tv.) But, would My Chem be proud?
I KEEP HEARING SCOTTS RIFTS AT THE BACK GROUND!😂😂
So are they having different groups (of groups lol) every week for now?
I love how there are so may people in each group but then there is pentatonix
My emo soul is crying so much right now PTX doing MCR shit. DAY. FUCKING. MADE.
I was nobbing about with my friend Nick and put his name down instead of Scott's! I hand't even noticed!
@4947Amy No, it's not. I have to official lyrics on my laptop, off the album. They say Webways.
My rankings for this group A
1. Pentatonix
2. Darthmouth Aires
3. Northshore
4. Deltones
5. The collective
6. Soul'd Out
7. Messiah's Men

The first Group got all the strong ones. Afro Blue, Delilah, Vocal Point, Urban Method, Yellow Jackets.
Came her for mcr but also got the Pentatonix! I landed in a gold mine

Pentatonix and Dartmouth Aires were from group B, Urban Method and Afro Blue from group A.
Oh okay... thanks
I showed it to my sister and she said she liked the bass and I was like, haha that's not bass that's Avi :D
Contrary to most of the people here, I love MCR with my whole heart, but I really like what they did for this song and I think that the people hating on this are incorrect, but that's just my opinion
@ChemicalLove11 what is the correct lyric
