Nice update staying busy and handling the pressure. Got my first one to trade on Friday prepped and listed today with a quick trip to garage tomorrow for a service and fresh MOT. It’s nice to follow your channel as your where I would like to be in maybe 12-18 months. I’ve been looking at how to offer 3 month warranty. Do you use a company? Great work
Great Video James, keep up the good work and battling through the hard stuff, Also where di you get that hoodie from on the Thursday bit, i love the chuncky ropes on it, also the mustard collour top on I think Tuesday, hehe I bet you never thought youd become a fastion icon
Just had an idea what you could do with that side of your house , you could build a car port , wooden posts , support beams , plastic roofing then you can work on the cars under cover 👍🏻
keep your chin up, how frustrating with the A3 module, could it be having component protection on they can be removed if the car it was on is not stolen? also very handy that you have plenty of parking outside your home. Also why does your phone camera keep pausing when you flip the camera round?
The abs module should have had the previous cars coding in it but it was empty, when coding if the battery dies it can corrupt the module, I 100% need a better camera and laptop to improve the overall quality
There are lots of ways to get values, webuyanycar, motorway, autotrader will give you roughly trade values, Retail prices with out a paid subscription are easy to just check what there listed for on autotrader
Hi so correct me if I am wrong you have 4 cars a stock worth of 16k without repairs ! On a kia, fiat 500 a3 and was a TT wow alot of money spent on these cars hopefully you’ll get your money back
If you stop the video you can see the prices Purchase prices 7k in bmw x6 1.5k in 500 2.5k capture £180 in a3 4k in TT I will lose money as iv spent close to 10k on it over the last year and half So it 15180 in stock i should get most of that back
For coding abs module you need , generate new abs coding ( long number ) use vcds to code in, after coding you need to do all adaptations. I have done in my VW golf after ECU kit changed I need to code abs pump. But worst bit is that ECU some times do not accept straight away I have done it 5+ times befor accept new coding.
The issue they found was the replacement module wouldn't take the coding, we even downloaded the coding from the old module to tried to puch that on with no joy,
@drivewaylife yeah I had same , new coding generated online I have paid like 18£ you need abs pump number and spec of the car . To generate. And then did accept in first time but after while just disappearing so , correct way put new coding if accept and no disappearing happy days if it dose then put new coding and straight after that you need to get all basic settings done and should works. Hope that will help
I have had some customers moan if they haven't been cleaned. Then you get some that ask why has it been cleaned, like you trying to hide an oil leak etc. So hard to get the balance to keep everyone happy.
I have an a3 myself just been through the same headache with the abs but what I did is had a mechanic remove the abs then I sent it if to ecu testing waited 3/4 days and had it back fully reconditioned for £280 didn’t have to do no coding and it’s also then covered with a lifetime and unlimited mileages warranty
Won't let me post another reply. I recommend getting a gaming laptop, managed to get a used Lenovo Legion of e-bay auction, I also recommend two cheaper monitors which now go for £50 new! This will help you a lot with editing and overall selling, comparing etc
@@drivewaylife Of course do your research etc, trying to help out. Watched all episodes at work today. Loving the channel and looking forward to more uploads than just Sundays!
There all split up as there separate bills 1st 530 mot 2nd 140 abs pump 3rd 265 fit abs and new battery 4th 150 program abs 5th 40 fuel 6th 165 another abs And ther will be 2 more 100 fitting 150 program Need them separate for claiming vat back on each bill
85k sales for vat 4.5k December sold 6.5k January with almost 2 weeks left, Plus payments from youtube, sponsored work, private jobs, So it will make sense to be vat registered to claim back all the vat, The money adds up quick Selling cars
@ I can help with this if it’s something you’d like to discuss, I’m a one man band and deal with a lot of small businesses, fair prices and easy to deal with.
How much tax do you have to pay on a car, let’s say you buy a car for £1000 out of your own money starting off, and you sell it for £2000, how much tax do you pay. Are you taxed on the £1000 profit or are you taxed on the full £2000??
No, you pay tax on the difference between your purchase price and sale price, My advice would be to speak to local accountants as they will save you more money than they charge you
@@drivewaylife thank you bro, I was just wondering because it makes sense only being taxed on the profits, ie if you buy a car for £1k out of your own pocket to get started and you sell it for £2k they take tax on the £1k profit?
Fast moving and informative content, glad to have found this channel. Good luck. With you all the way!
A real up and down week,

It's a good idea but I'm looking for a bigger indoor space

Everyone thinks its quick easy money so great video showing how it can be
Thanks 👍
Do you clean all your engines and engine bays??
Yes I always try to remember
I have had some customers moan if they haven't been cleaned. Then you get some that ask why has it been cleaned, like you trying to hide an oil leak etc. So hard to get the balance to keep everyone happy.
@JDTAuto oww 100% agree but I just prepare them ready to go,
Plus, clean makes it look better looked after

I sent myn away to ecu testing but the fault was with the module and couldn't be saved that's why I have to go the hard way around

Decent job where you can watch TH-cam at work
Bob is the best looking man in the house 😂
Savage
The only thing missing on you is a sheepskin coast and a Bunbury flat cap .
Proper fella 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You said the Audi repairs were like £1500 but your spreadsheet said £330 on expenses?. Great content, enjoying it. ;-))
There all split up as there separate bills
1st 530 mot
2nd 140 abs pump
3rd 265 fit abs and new battery
4th 150 program abs
5th 40 fuel
6th 165 another abs

Why are you even Vat registered ?
85k sales for vat
4.5k December sold

Plus payments from youtube, sponsored work, private jobs,
So it will make sense to be vat registered to claim back all the vat,

Mate as far as I see, this is not business, you just buying and fixing, not selling 😂😂😂
I hear you loud and clear
Do you need an accountant? ;-)
I 100% do need an accountant for both business and youtube

I was watching you with the fiats air box thinking dont break the pipe ! looks a nice car now.
When I dropped it off at the workshop, they said its super common to snap them so easy fix and cheap fix

How much tax do you have to pay on a car, let’s say you buy a car for £1000 out of your own money starting off, and you sell it for £2000, how much tax do you pay. Are you taxed on the £1000 profit or are you taxed on the full £2000??
After paying VAT, your profit is:
£1,000 (margin) - £166.67 (VAT) = £833.33.
@@drivewaylife so they don’t take tax on the full £2k it’s only taken on whatever the profit is?
@@drivewaylife is that right, they only tax you on the profit you make not on the full amount invested in the car?
