Night Shift: playing maps at night BUT you can use the flashlight (it can be used in csgo through modding). Obviously the dark should be intense enough to force the use of the flashlight... at first.

That map generally was really good, it's sad that they removed it from matchmaking. Sure, you can get the map from the workshop, but with that you can only play the map with 2 of your friends, which is boring
He wasn't wrong that all the old maps used to have fog like this (not this bad obviously). You used to be obscured when looking from nuke big garage to outside T entrance. Competitive tournaments were played on "_se" maps which had all the fog removed.
I don't know why the Terrorists are trying to blow up Silent Hill. Or why Counter Terrorists are trying to stop them. But I suppose that's how things go
That's what I think about pretty much every CS game. Why the hell "terrorists" are constantly trying to blow up some abandoned empty warehouse/market/street/place in a godforsaken middle of nowhere? And why the hell anybody cares? But that's quite good. It makes the game look like a friendly meeting of two sports teams of "yellow" and "blue", not some actual conflict with any polarising morale involved.

I’m surprised no one thought of how incredibly effective this makes flashes. You don’t need to pop flash at all since they can’t see them, so for close quarter duels like retaking Car on Inferno they would be very powerful

WarOwl is right because back in 2012, CSGO maps had 2 versions. One that had fog and more details and the other one was more clean with no fog. It was a clunky idea from Valve that didn't last long. PS: The big chicken in the red fog was terrifying haha.
When the human eye is overexposed to either of the 3 main colours (red, green or blue) it adjusts. This effect is why hospitals use blue and green clothing instead of red, as to make sure the surgeons can see what colour something is. The medlife crisis told me that.
I know you dont make these anymore (probably because you covered literally everything) but your Matchmaking Academy videos were no joke! You single handedly carried me and my friends from the second we downloaded the game to years later all of us DMG+. Ive been trying to get into League of Legends recently and have ZERO idea what I’m doing and it really makes me think back to how much you were there for the entire CS community. You’ll always be one of the most LEGENDARY and IMPACTFUL people CS ever had
This competitive format should really be look more into and maybe even a costum map(s). It really seems like a great concept and of course with some more added ideas/updates.
Okay, but can you imagine a slow-paced competitive shooter but the main gimmick is that every map is covered in fog or smoke? From the gameplay here, it seems like it would make the stakes in gameplay much more higher, and you'd have to be way more cautious. I'm really liking this idea.
I love you War Owl, and I love that you are progressing with keeping CS alive... I learned how to play this game like 8 years ago from you. I switched to Val just like every other old school CS person.
This may be too similar, but having a similar video with darkness instead of fog would be super fun. My main reasoning for why it'd be different is: *) Firing would give off flashes -) Faster firing weapons would become less sought after because they give your position away +) Knives and grenades become much stronger +) Using a knife makes you feel like an assassin hehe -) smoke bombs are next to useless -) flags bangs are technically not useful either Would be fun to see :)
i feel like this would be really sick if light in cs worked like it does irl and the game had like a separate unranked rtx enabled mode but i don't think dynamic light from muzzle flash is really a thing in csgo
I’d like to see a map use a very small spot of fog in the way of some sort of door. It would have to be done differently than this fog somehow ofc bc of how you can see through it with particle effects behind it. But if it could be done maybe a small entrance would have a vent under it, producing a column of smoke. Maybe even after a certain amount of time in the round the smoke would stop, providing a new angle.
2:15 you are 3 person squad tasked to take out an entire complex in the fog and at some point you see your teammates getting killed and you are the only survivor
Awesome video as always! @TheWarOwl what about, create mode where everyone from team have some role. You got Tank - Extra armor, extra HP, you got assassin/scout, halved HP, boosted speed, DMG, Doctor - with syringes, etc ... :)
I have 2 different MOD suggestions I'd like to see. 1) People have a bad habit of reloading after shooting only a few bullets, so make it when you reload, you lose the remainder of your magazine. It's not like in reality we are loading up a magazine in between reloads anyways. Might change how people spray blindly to conserve bullets. 2) Randomly assign the amount of bullets in the magazine and reserves for each weapon. Eg. 40 bullet pistol, 10 bullet Rifle, 30 bullet Negav, etc.. See how the guns/META plays if they change...
All kills in the kill-feed, in this mod, should be marked as "through smoke"
