  • In the video I review the 2021 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail FLHC. This bike is cosmetically mostly unchanged since 1986. It handles the around town as well as the longer trips. This is an amazing cruiser.

    Good review. I rode my Yamaha V-Star over to a local Harley dealership today to test ride a Road King. I ended up trading in my Yammy and left on a Heritage. My jaw is hurting from all the smiling.

    This might sound silly but I am really torn between buying the Heritage or the Fat Boy. My riding style is cruising exclusively. No touring, those days have past me by on that. Your videos and reviews of the H-D line up is a true inspiration. You and Matt Laidlaw have gotten me back into the Motorcycle scene. My last bike was a 1984 FXRT, bought it brand new in Columbia, South Carolina when I was a Drill Sergeant at Fort Jackson. I loved that bike but when I shipped out overseas I ended up selling it. Yep, that was in the late 1980s. Thanks for the expert videos and reviews. You just don't know how may folks you touch and inspire.

    As iconic as ever! A heritage and/or a road king are just true HD to me. I've had them both...and while I'm on a Limited/Street Glide now for the travel amenities, the pics of my 2000 Heritage I had until last year and my 1998 Road King are some of my favorites.

    Do like how they have put a clear screen on instead of that half black colour. Love the chrome, it's how the Heritage needs to look for that nostalgic experience. Never owned a Harley in 47 years of riding, but, I'm seriously looking at this model in this colour with the 107 motor. Retirement is just around the corner, and having the old man bike tag will certainly be relevant in my case! Would be a great addition to my VFR800 and vstrom 1000. Just got to convince the wife that its going to be my last bike (for a while anyway!). Appreciate the review mate, G'day from Australia. Subbed.

    It's either the 114 Heritage or the 114 King Special. I keep going back, and forth. I don't like the black only saddles on the Heritage, but it is lighter, and the steering bar is better. The look of the Special is what draws me, has tubeless tires, and it's a bit smoother on the longer rides. I'll make up my mind in a bit. Thanks for a solid video

    I have 2 Heritage Softails. A 2010 and a 2020. Very different bikes to say the least. My 2010 is chromed out with wide white walls. Very traditional look. I love it. The 2020 is a burnt orange/silver flux 114. The paint is cool but I really don’t care for the blacked out look at all. The 114 I can take it or leave it. It does have more than enough power for riding solo for sure but the off idle drive ability isn’t so great. It was way worse when it was new. Took about 5K miles to break in and it did start to run much smoother but it still a little rough right off idle. Seems like it has a pretty aggressive cam in it. I probably should have bought a chromed out 107. I do like the two tone on your test bike. Once it warms up a little I may go take a test ride on a 107 Heritage and a 107 Road King just to see how they compare to each other. I was hoping that the 2020 would be the bike that I could do some road trips on but it honestly doesn’t even come close to my 2010 for long distance comfort. The locking hard bags are nice but even with a matching tour pack it’s still not enough storage for a serious road trip. The handling and braking of the 2020 is pretty awesome. Floor boards are higher so the lean angle is much better. Brakes are way better than the 2010. All in all I would say the 2020 is okay for what it is just not the all day comfort I was hoping for.

    • @throttleblip9854
      @throttleblip9854  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      All very valid points. I'd say it sounds like you would def like the Road King with a detachable tour pack and possibly a luggage rack on top. Interesting it took so long to break in but I've had trucks that did that also.

I traded it for a 2021 Tri Glide still in break in mode. Check out the 2010. I had a beautiful emblem and the only year with the tan leather tank cover and rear of back rest.

    • @grayboo212
      @grayboo212 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm going to have to disagree. The 2010 Heritages had that weird (in my opinion) "swoosh" on each side of the tank, looked somewhat like a backwards Nike swoosh. I remember people bitching about that tank swoosh when they came out in 2009. A guy I work with bought a brand new one back then and he had them paint the tank solid black before he even picked the bike up after he bought it.

Im considering Heritage although what I really want is the Sport Glide but they don't sell it in American markets anymore which really bugs me cuz that is the bike I want new. Im waiting to see if they will bring back Sport Glide in 2025 before I buy my next bike. If it doesn't come, idk what im gonna buy and may just look elsewhere altogether. Yes: All Harleys drag their floor boards with the slightest hint of a lean. (compared to any other brand)

    • @grayboo212
      @grayboo212 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@magnuspym No, no they don't. I've put over 100,000 miles on my 05" Heritage and have dragged the floorboards probably less than 10 times in all those miles. Most were on sharp inclines/declines on ramps leading on or off a 4 lane highway.

    I just got off a 160 mile ride on my 2021 identical to the one in the video. I will disagree on one thing, the seat is terrible. I had a softball Deluxe and got rid of it almost immediately for another Road King. In the Carolina mountains, the Road King is just too much to get around on.

    • @throttleblip9854
      @throttleblip9854  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m only 5’11 so hard for me to say! Haha. I’d go with a seat that lets you sit back a little more. You may want to slightly roll the bars forward if your arms are also long. Definitely add highway pegs so you can stretch out on longer rides.
      If you have a motorcycle license, your local dealership should let you ride one. I’d also ride a Road King if you like the Heritage it has similar styling but more room.

In other videos, when people are following while filming, I noticed the saddle bags on this model have a vibration type shake, which looks cheap.. personally I dis like the chrome and spoke wheels.. its a night mare a comin when it comes to chrome flaking off and rust pitting too.

    The fact that the Heritage, perhaps the best looking motorcycle ever made, is considered by younger people to be an old man’s bike shows the utter failure of Harley Davidson’s marketing for the past several decades, and explains why they won’t be around much longer. HD will die along with us old guys.
