Mitch Mitchell was one of the best drummers of Rock, and most unrecognized. He was a multi-rhythmic space-jazz drummer who flew with Jimi. He didn't just "keep time". I saw the Experience many times, and Jimi once with Band of Gypsies. Always transcendant.

Me too man. But sometimes I think it's possible to know jimi more than a lot of the people I have met because of what he communicated through his music. There are so many sides to him, the other evening I was walking in the hills in a remote part of Scotland listening to 1983, I had been alone for hours and the sun was going down behind a mountainous island in the distance, I suddenly felt like I was seeing this planet for the 1st time, a sad but beautifully desolate place inhabited by people almost phantom like in their shallowness of perception. Michael Jeffries was responsible for the virtually worthless contracts that Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding signed in 1966, cutting them out of record royalties. Then Jeffries paid them a meager salary, misappropriating most of their concert wages through offshore holding companies (Yameta Trust Company) in the Bahamas, where only Jeffries had access to numbered bank accounts. Jeffries learned the ropes good in stealing royalties and concert cash when he managed The Animals. He also deposited their earnings in Bahamian bank accounts that most of the band never saw.

Noel Redding has been so underrated, it´s a crime. You should pay more attention to his licks in the first two albums, and the ones he threw on ElectricLadyland (as you all should know that Jimi himself did record many of the bass parts in that album)

Yeah Noel Redding deserves more respect. As a person and a bass player. He had to play a guitar next to Jimi Hendrix for goodness sake! He had to hold down the fort while Jimi flew, and he did it while sounding fat and groovy.

@@brittneyking4361 Yes, no doubt Al had a hard time growing up and had a volatile marriage. I'm giving Al his due for clearly loving his son. But he is also responsible for his part in ruining Jimi's childhood, no matter what Lucille was like. I wish them all peace though, and believe it is all resolved where they are at.

Oh my GOD one of the greatest of all musicians who ever lived has me moved beyond anything I could have ever imagined Although Jimi Hendrix was long before my time ..I think about how this sweet loving beautiful soul of a man could have very well been my dad♥️ cause heaven knows I truly love and adorn him as though he really were my real dad .I am immensely sorry that Jimi Hendrix passed away and I am immensely sorry to hear that some of his loyal and most faithful dedicated band members from the Jimi Hendrix experience have passed away too...oh my GOD 😭 may they all rest in peace ☮️🕊️🕊️ and in unity's 🙏🙏🙏

This is a celebration of the Experience formed in 1966, not disregarding his band however focus on the point - The Experience were the original. It was the period in which Jimi played and recorded a style of music which was not the same as what he came out with post-Experience/mid 1969 with Buddy Miles, Billy Cox etc. A true Hendrix fan tells the difference in the style of music he performed with The Experience and what he did in the last 2 years or so of his life, both very great though.
