It’s gorgeous! I know what you mean about Dharma. I now have every color available at the moment. A lot of the blues still aren’t in stock yet. I can’t place an order without going crazy. 😳 I have a box I haven’t even opened because it’s almost overwhelming to think about swatching all of them. I need to learn your slip knot technique. You explained it in a previous video, do you remember which one? I miss your banter while you’re folding, but I understand... thanks for another great tutorial! ❤️🌈
Awe thank you so much my friend. I miss talking sometimes soon and sure I will more (can’t help it😂) but these videos seem to work ok too. You know as well as I do it’s all about trial and error and unfortunately there’s no way to make everyone happy. I’m super excited for all this dye to come. I’ve been pretty narrow minded with the colors I’ve chosen so far but I’ve seen such amazing pieces with colors I don’t normally use that I just had too. Lol. As far as the slipknot I love it. It’s not for everyone but I feel like once you get it you’ll never want to not use it. You can find that Tutorial here... th-cam.com/video/akBddh28sPs/w-d-xo.html There’s also a kite string Tutorial in this video as well but I go into great detail about the slipknot. Hope this helps!😊
@@RiahsTieDye Yup, that’s the tutorial I watched. I’m trying to get into more sinew stuff, thanks for the link... I’m just adverse to white in my tie dye. I’m trying to change my thinking! As far as dye goes I’m in the “brighter the better neon light boat” versus “earth tones boat” I’m also trying to appreciate browns and moss greens, shiitake, etc. more... There is a lot of value in those earthy colors if I just look at each color for what it is, the beauty in it... but then my mind is thinking about Lime Pop and Grape. I just can’t help it!! 🤪❤️🌈
Lol. I feel the exact the same way. It’s hard to stray from what you know and love and I definitely agree about the beauty in these colors. I’m super excited to try them out especially with some unique mandalas!😊💜☮️
Good evening from Greece!!! You have made an amazing video and thank you very much for doing it at a slow pace, so that we can understand what we saw from you!!! Because everything I have seen is doing very quickly, I guess they're afraid they're gonna take their art away)))) 🎉
Thank you! I do everything faster in my videos now but it’s not because I’m keeping secrets, it’s just because most people don’t want to stick around for a 30 minute video unfortunately ☺️💜
@@RiahsTieDye no THANKS to u for sharing. I do miss ur talking but as u explained things in a simple way to understand. Maybe u cud still do a video like that every now n then 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Love your creative work and am hooked. I try tie dye with one of you video on my kids shirts and it turned out awesome and they loved it...thank you for sharing your skills with us.
Riah thanks to you i made my first tap. turned out great. i have actually been making shirts for years. have you noticed how few tutorials on mandalas there are.? i hope you will continue sharing them . i have ordered #12 .28 by 28 dish cloths to practice on . i am actually more excited now to do taps than shirts. i cant wait for the cloths to come
Just recently found your channel and I'm hooked! Great content! I 💙 how you show us your awesome work and how to attempt this ourselves! Maybe, one day soon I will try! Thanks!
I don't remember the exact number of subscribers you said in the video but I'm watching 10 months later, mid February 2022 and just above the description box it says your already just over 89K!! You go girl!!
I buy mine right off of Amazon. I actually have links in the description box of all my videos that will take you right to them. They are hit or miss lately but they restock quite often. Hope this helps😊
OMG Riah my favourite so far 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 even though I love all of them lol. I just can’t work out how to foresee how the lines will turn out at the end that you draw on once folded?? Is that something that just comes in time?? I can follow what ur doing n copy it but I cannot draw lines on myself foreseeing how it will be in the end result. 😬 maybe it’s just me, I just can’t get my head around it 🤪 Love to you all ✌🏻💜🌈☮️😘
Thanks so much Kaz. It is definitely something that comes in time and with doing similar mandala folds over and over and over and over. Lol. I can pretty much see what the design will be now as I’m drawing it on but it definitely wasn’t always the case. Not even close. I’ve also folded and drawn on pieces of paper many many times as well to practice. You will absolutely be able to do the same the more you dye. It’s one of those repetitive things that ends up becoming second nature in time 😊💜🌈☮️
These tapestry tutorial/reveal videos are fantastic. I have a question about ice tie dying (and apologies if you've answered this elsewhere): is there a difference between putting the ice on before the dye or after? Your channel is the first place I ever saw someone doing ice tie dye at all (and the results *mwah*), but every resource I found after watching your videos said (or did) sprinkle the dye onto the ice instead of onto the fabric. Does applying the dye powder directly to the fabric give you greater control over the pattern or richer colors, or is it just easier than trying to spread it over the uneven surface of the ice?
Hi and thank you for your question. So it really boils do to personal preference. The reason I apply the dye first is because I feel as if it gives me more control over the pattern. Basically just as you said, the ice is unpredictable and if melts to the right for instance my specific placement might not be achieved. That being said...tie Dyers believe that’s going to be the outcome regardless. I honestly can’t discredit that with all the experiments I have done because it does seem to be very similar. For me even if it’s off a 10th of an inch makes all the different in my choice. I would much rather place the dye where I feel it might do as intended rather than take the risk. Especially on my tapestry’s. I hope this helps a little😊💙
I love all your mandalas and tutorials ❤️ I attempted one earlier on an old muslin cloth and it looks awesome! I would love to make tie dye mandala cushions, do you think this would work with cushion covers?? x
I’m pretty sure the first color I used was Concord grape and then the second dark looking color is plum. The next light purple color is lavender. Then I put blue violet and then the scrunch was red violet ☺️💜
