Stop preaching another gospel. You are trying to hold Christians under the Mosaic law. Christians are not Jewish, and even the Jews no longer tithe because they understand there's no way to tithe today under the law. Where does this say anything about giving less than 10% is robbing God? What does "compulsion" mean?
2Cor 6-8 - The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

    • @craig7822
      @craig7822 8 ปีที่แล้ว +18

What scripture do you back that with? Now you're twisting and adding to the Word. It does NOT state that. For a single mom trying to support a couple kids from a low paying job, 1% could be more than she can give.
It's about the heart - not the %. That's what Jesus was trying to tell the Pharisees in Matt 23:23.

    • @craig7822
      @craig7822 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

You say that anyone living on social security should my tithe. But you also said that any cheerful giver will give more than 10%. These contradict and neither are backed with scripture. You also can non-Tithers God Robbers based on a verse written under the law from Malachi addressing the Iraelites and priest ( see Mal 1 - 2).
You are teaching scripture out of context as well as adding your twists to scripture. You need to study scripture for correction and repent. Remember all scripture is good for tubule and correction 2Tim 3:16 ,

What hurts is that even grace preachers who preach the new covenant and not law still preach tithing. They dont trust that the message of grace would make prosperous enough and make us want to give back and not feel obliged to.

Tithing is NOT nor has never been meant for the Gentiles! Tithing is an Old Testament concept. The tithe was a requirement of the Law in which the Israelites were to give 10 percent of the crops they grew and the livestock they raised to the tabernacle/temple (Leviticus 27:30; Numbers 18:26; Deuteronomy 14:24; 2 Chronicles 31:5). In fact, the Old Testament Law required multiple tithes-one for the Levites, one for the use of the temple and the feasts, and one for the poor of the land-which would have pushed the total to around 23.3 percent. Some understand the Old Testament tithe as a method of taxation to provide for the needs of the priests and Levites in the sacrificial system.
The New Testament nowhere commands, or even recommends, that Christians submit to a legalistic tithe system. The New Testament nowhere designates a percentage of income a person should set aside, but only says gifts should be “in keeping with income” (1 Corinthians 16:2). Some in the Christian church have taken the 10 percent figure from the Old Testament tithe and applied it as a “recommended minimum” for Christians in their giving.
The New Testament talks about the importance and benefits of giving. We are to give as we are able. Sometimes that means giving more than 10 percent; sometimes that may mean giving less. It all depends on the ability of the Christian and the needs of the church. Every Christian should diligently pray and seek God’s wisdom in the matter of participating in tithing and/or how much to give (James 1:5). Above all, all tithes and offerings should be given with pure motives and an attitude of worship to God and service to the body of Christ. “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

"Have you paid your tithes?" - Stuff Jesus Never Said

    • @chriscb
      @chriscb 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

+jamman55 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others." Matthew 23:23
Jesus did not denounce scrupulous tithing. He denounced using tithing as a way of evading “the weightier matters of the law,” which demand real sacrifice. Indeed, the Lord says that tithing, even in small matters, is something not to be neglected.
The hypocrisy of the scribes and Pharisees lay in over-emphasizing easier forms of obedience while under-emphasizing harder forms of obedience. They hid their unbelief within a self-invented form of theological disproportion, making small things look big and big things look small. They seized upon opportunities to tithe, and they dismissed the crying needs for justice and mercy and faithfulness.

    • @datdeliveryguy
      @datdeliveryguy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

+chriscb the problem is the "substance" of tithe. God was very specific that the tithe was to be agricultural. Even in the scripture you gave, it clearly says the tithe is agricultural.
When and where did God change His Holy Tithe from agricultural products into money? And we can't use the excuse that they didn't have money back then either, because Jesus was betrayed by Judas for 30 pieces of silver. We must divorce the concept that giving money is not the same thing that the bible calls "tithing". Call it a freewill offering if you will, but it's not a biblical tithe.

We said @Niecy Peterson. It really is a heart issue. No matter if you "tithe" a tenth or give more or less, it comes down to the matter of the heart. Those who still believe in tithe, do you "tithe" from the heart or because "momma always said so". Do you do it to avoid a "curse?" Or do you tithe because you expect the "windows of heaven" to open up. In our ministry I teach giving is act of worship to God. And true worship can only come from the heart.

It’s amazing that a preacher can do a 20 minute message on Forgiveness, repentance, lying, Sin, because they can find several scriptures that are concrete and address it straight to the point.
But when they preach on tithing it’s 1 hour or a 2 Sunday sermon.
They all go to Malachi, but they never break down what was going on in Malachi. Then they spend half the time making you feel guilty along with preaching their opinion. None of the scriptures are concrete as they were for the other topics.
They spend the rest of the time convincing you to tithe.
Why do you ask? Because no preacher wants to get a real job if those tithes stop coming in.
    FACT!!!!

I left a large assembly in Phx. after studying the "tithe" when the pastor proclaimed "if you are not tithing, you are IN SIN" The revelations from study started a disintegration of my marriage , that's how insidious of a teaching it is. This is a good piece. Exposing the fact that the modern church loves using the very 'Law', they 'say' is done away with, to pressure the congregation into tithing. However, the "Law has never been terminated and replaced". Only the 'curse of the law' (the punishment or sentence) and the ceremonial law (because we no longer have a Temple or priests, or need for sacrifice. That is 'all' that is done away. Not the Law. And Markie Highroller's comments are utterly ignorant of the plight that faces many people today (financially) I suppose he would say the same about the folks in the breadlines of years past as well. Don't pay him any mind.. I'm sure he has never had any 'real' hard times.. I (and many others) can't make enough to afford a Starbucks coffee.. "we're the ones behind the counter.. with families and big taxes and bills and kids to feed" Ridiculous comment ~ But, he'll find out someday.. (the bigger they are the harder they fall)

you're misrepresenting people who believe in grace....the purpose of the law is to reveal the sinful nature of man, to convict a person of sin and lead them to christ....once a person is born again they are "NO LONGER UNDER THE LAW FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS"....it has NO POWER OVER THEM...it CANNOT EVER AGAIN MAKE THEM GUILTY, a believer is not under the curse of the law, they have been freed from the law of sin and death....trying reading a bible

PREACH IT BROTHER, THOSE WHO HAVE EARS WILL HEAR. I dont understand why people from all congregation that tithes are not reading and understanding. Maybe its because churches are keeping a record and they actually know who is tithing and who is not and then they hold it against individuals who dont tithes. So some people even know the truth but are afraid. The saddest thing is that these innocent people are now afraid of the pastor more that they are afraid of God. Most of the Pastors will not know what hit them, when they find themselves one day falling into the same pit with the devil, and thus taking down 99% of their congregations.

PROOF THAT YOU MUST PAY YOUR TITHES.
The Thieves in the House of God will tell you that:
1.We don’t pay tithes anymore because that was under the law.
2.Tithes was never money (although Feast Tithes was turned into money for the long journey going to the place the LORD chose - Deuteronomy 14:22-26).
3.We don’t pay tithes because there is no Levitican Priesthood.
4.We don’t pay tithes because there is no more Tabernacle or Temple.
5.We don’t pay tithes because that is a work of the Law and no one that does the works of the Law will be justified, but Christ is of no effect for you and you are fallen from Grace.
      ONE PROBLEM,
TITHES AIN’T GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LAW.
The TITHES and CIRCUMCISION is from the Promise before the Law.
The reason you see Circumcision and the Tithes in the Law is because the Law does not, could not, and did not disannul the Promise which was 430 years before the Law.
And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. 18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
      Galatians 3:17, 18
The Born Again Saint of God inheritance is NOT of the Law.
The Born Again Saint of God inheritance IS of the PROMISE.
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
      Galatians 3:29
The Thieves of the House of God will never be able to show you A SINGLE SCRIPTURE where the TITHES has been disannulled or stopped.
But the Lord Jesus Christ has written in his word, “The Law…cannot disannul, the COVENANT that was confirmed before of GOD IN CHRIST that was given to ABRAHAM BY PROMISE.
This is why The Lord God has the SCRIPTURE THAT PROVES TO EVERYONE THE TITHES WAS NOT DISANNULLED because the TITHES is from the PROMISE.
This is why the Thieves in the House of God CANNOT PRODUCE A SCRIPTURE WITH ANYONE TELLING YOU NOT TO PAY TITHES.
The only ones telling you NOT TO PAY TITHES ARE THE THIEVES WHO ROB GOD of TITHES.
      HERE IS A FACT,
“NOT EVEN THE DEVIL IS RECORDED IN THE ENTIRE 31,102 VERSES OF THE HOLY SCRIPTURES AS TELLING YOU NOT TO PAY TITHES !”
      THAT’S A SHAME !
THE LORD THY GOD GIVES YOU THE SCRIPTURES. - GALATIANS 3:17, 18
THE TITHE THIEVES GIVE YOU NOTHING BUT LYING LIP.
The PROMISE WAS NOT given to MOSES in the Law.
      Therefore,
      WHEN THE TITHE THIEVES SAY:
We don’t pay tithes anymore because that was under the law. IS WRONG.
THAT DON’T COUNT : Tithes was in the Promise, the Law cannot disannul the PROMISE.
And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
      GALATIANS 3:17
Tithes was never money (although Feast Tithes was turned into money for the long journey to the place the LORD chose - Deuteronomy 14:22-26).
      WRONG AGAIN.
THAT DON’T COUNT : Tithes was the goods God gave to Abraham in victory and the Born Again Saints have the victory in Jesus who supplies us with all our needs according to his riches in glory. - Philippians 4:19
The Promise of the inheritance that was 430 years before the Law which the Law cannot disannul the PROMISE.
Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.
      HEBREWS 7:4
We don’t pay tithes because there in no Levitican Priesthood.
      THAT’S WRONG.
THAT DON’T COUNT : The Levitican Priesthood like the rest of the Law is in the Old Covenant which made no one perfect.
      We are in GRACE NOW.
For the Old is replaced by the better with the priesthood now being changed to a priesthood forever after the order of Melchisedec just like the one that Abraham paid “tithes of all” to and now Abraham’s seed pays “tithes of all” to.
For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
      HEBREWS 7:19
If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? 12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
      HEBREWS 7:11, 12
      To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
      HEBREWS 7:2
We don’t pay tithes because there is no more Tabernacle or Temple. WRONG.
THAT DON’T COUNT: In the New Covenant the Born Again Saint is the TEMPLE OF GOD, and the House of God where we bring the tithe to is the Church of the Living God the Pillar and Ground of Truth.
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
      1 CORINTHIANS 3:16
But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
      1 TIMOTHY 3:15
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
      MALACHI 3:10
We don’t pay tithes because tithes is a work of the Law and if you do the works of the Law then Christ is of no effect to you and you are fallen from Grace. THAT’S WRONG.
THAT DON’T COUNT : Tithe was 430 years before the Law and the Law cannot disannul the PROMISE which is the very reason the Tithe and Circumcision appears in the Law.
The Law CANNOT DISANNUL THE PROMISE. TITHES AND CIRCUMCISION BOTH ARE FROM THE PROMISE.
      - Galatians 3:17, 18
THE PROMISE is the seed of Abraham’s inheritance into a better country which is Heavenly.
But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
      HEBREWS 11:16
CIRCUMCISION did not end it has CHANGED.
CIRCUMCISION OF THE FLESH HAS NO POWER NOW SO CIRCUMCISION HAS CHANGED.
CIRCUMCISION IN GRACE HAS CHANGED FROM THAT OF THE FLESH TO THAT OF THE HEART IN THE SPIRIT because circumcision of the flesh means nothing now in GRACE.
      Why?
It is a man made circumcision.
But the Law could not disannul circumcision so it continued in the LAW.
In GRACE, Through Water Baptism in the name of JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins, the operation of Circumcision is done by GOD HIMSELF.
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
      COLOSSIANS 2:10-12
Now Women, Bond, Greek and Jew are Circumcised in Baptism and put into Christ Jesus.
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
      GALATIANS 3:27, 28
This Circumcision by the OPERATION OF GOD is of the HEART in the SPIRIT and not the LETTER (The LAW).
In the SPIRIT we are then complete and Christ is put into the Born Again Saint the HOPE OF GLORY.
Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
      COLOSSIANS 1:26, 27
The same with the Tithe which was 430 years before the Law IN THE PROMISE.
The Tithe appears in the Law because the Law could not disannul the Tithe so it continued in the Law.
      - Galatians 3:17, 18
In GRACE, The Born Again Saint pays the Tithe in faith to the Lord for the victory because GOD has given us OUR DAILY BREAD and GOODS WHICH HE HAS SUPPLIED US WITH ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY. We are just giving his 10% back to him.
These are the spoils we recieve in our victory in Jesus Christ because all good gifts are from above that comes down to us from the FATHER OF LIGHTS.
And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
      GENESIS 14:16
And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
      GENESIS 14:20
From this we give a “tenth of all” called the Tithe.
      How?
      With money.
      Why money?
Because MONEY answers all things, including the Tithe payment.
A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.
      Ecclesiastes 10:19
Beloved, for your own sakes. PAY YOUR TITHES.
      Amen and Amen.

First time I hear a pastor who went through the bible and learned about tithing. It is so difficult to go to the church and minister to the pastor about tithing. I was a tither before God rebuked me on the pulpit when I led church on giving, I read malachi as always, and right there God said to me, who told you that if my children are not bless, when not tithing, I felt so embarrassed right there and finished quickly and from that time I never wanted to lead the church on giving, it is so difficult to get to the church where they pay tithes and you as a minister you do not do. I thank God for the Grace that pastors are tapping into another realm of the truth of the scriptures.
Thank you pastor, lets continue to pray for others to understand the scriptures.

I have felt condemned plenty of times because I didn't pay tithes. All I've heard preachers say since being saved in 1992 was, pay your tithe or you will be cursed. It is now 2014 so u could only imagine how brain washed I was prior to me understanding the truth in 2014. I was taught that people that didnt pay their tithes were cursed and that I should have no fellowship with them and that hell would be their portion. I thank God that the truth is we are not cursed. We are free from the law. I Thank God for this video. It encourages me that the truth will spread to all churches especially, black churches. This pastor is the one only black Christian I ever heard that doesnt teach tithes. Pray for me as I attempt to inform others about this subject.

Hi Kenneth, praise God for the grace he has shown you. You have come into this revelation purely by and because of the grace of God. A grace that has been given to you so that you would be set free and so you can share your freedom with others. I pray God will give you a voice that will be heard, respected and heeded as you proclaim the truth of His word. ~Pastor Simon

Kenneth Walker I'm so glad you got free from that bondage! Notice that in many of today's churches, the tithing doctrine has replaced 'Salvation'. So now, it's not about knowing Jesus Christ in the pardon of your sins, instead it's about being a tither to get to heaven. That message in itself tells you that this thing is somewhat demonic.

Thank you for this video. I agree 100% with this teaching because it's what my Pastor teaches as well at our church. I'm happy to see that truth is getting out about God's grace and freeing my brothers and sisters from false teaching of God's word which can cause an unhealthy walk. To my brother that posted last I also went thru what you went thru and it's funny how man take God's word and twist it to a false doctrine. But I do believe that it's not the intentions of many man that teach this but it's simply the doctrine that they have been taught themselves. In 1 Tim it speaks about us as individual Sons of God should "study the word to show ourselves approved unto God," meaning our heavenly father wants to approve his word in you by a one on one intimate relation, his word and your renwing mind. In Mat.3:16 when Jesus was baptized it says that the heavens were opened unto him.. now let me ask you, if Jesus is in you and you are one with him and he with you, isn't the heavens open to you too? Why would we receive any curse or judgment for not Tithing when it's not in anyway connected to the new covenant? 1 John 4:17 says "Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
This is grace, that we have boldness in who Jesus is and who we are in him. Why boldness in the day of judgment? Because if we are as he is than we have already been judged in him and we been made white as snow cause we are God's righteousness in Jesus Christ. Not because we did or can do anything to receive it but because He is the LOVE made perfect in you.
One thing I always say is that we as SONS of our heavenly FATHER should always take God's grace into consideration when hearing and reading His word because when you take grace out of the equation you will always receive a misinterpretation of God's word.
I believe when we truly know our identity in him we will not lack giving because giving is only a result of his provision in you..
Thank you Pastor for this video.. you are BLESSED..

for those who still believe the tithe is applicable under the new covenant, I would like to know, with supporting Scripture, why the writings of the apostle Paul have now mentioning of tithing. he speaks boldly about money and giving, but nothing about tithing. bear in mind, Paul was a Jew and one who was very zealous for the law.

It is refreshing to hear a minister teach truth on this subject. Dr. Russell E. Kelly also covers this subject very well.
Also, keep in mind that to be against legalistic tithing is not to be against freewill giving. God's instructions are crystal clear in 2Cor 9:6-8.
6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully[a] will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency[b] in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. Your words on this topic are a rare, refreshing drop of water in a parched earth. With regard to tithing, and giving, and prosperity, Malachi 3:8-12 is not the full counsel of God. It is an excerpt, quoted to the church for centuries (believe it or not), which is a misrepresentation of God's counsel regarding the topic of giving. Here are a few points.
-- Who did God appoint to receive tithes? God said, "And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth [the tithe] in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation (Numbers 18:21). In this scripture, God established who receives the tithe (the Levites), and why they received it (they received no inheritance, and they served in the temple). This assignment is exclusive to Levites. A pastor cannot assume this assignment, he has never been scripturally assigned by God to collect tithes, he is not a Levite. In that same sense, only a Levite, never a pastor, could ever conduct an animal sacrifice or even work in a Jewish temple. The church has not replaced the Jewish temple, and pastors have not replaced Levites.
-- People are blessed when they give, as you have affirmed, not because of Malachi 3, which is based on the Law of Moses, an Old Testament law that has been replaced by Grace under Christ, at the cross. They are blessed because Jesus said, "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you" (Luke 6:38). It is this principle of giving and receiving at work, when we give and are blessed. Not the expired law of tithing, which was required of the Jews (never Gentiles), and could only be received by Levite priests because they received no inheritance and were set apart to work fully in the Jewish temple.
-- There is much more to this, such as Abraham's tithe to Melchizedek, Jacob's promise to tithe, the history of when and why the New Testament church tithes (there is actually a date!), and the biblical clarity behind this history. To be clear, every pastor has a right to collect offerings in support of the ministry; I fully agree with supporting the church financially. But our giving must be godly. It is wrong to require people to tithe, contrary to the scriptures, then say that we live according to the scriptures. If you're interested in learning more, I have researched and written about this in "Tither, You Are Free!" Blessings to you and your ministry!

Many people looking at Malachi 3 don't realize that Israel had to keep all the laws otherwise they would be under a curse.
For example the book of Leviticus commands tithing. But Leviticus also commands Israel to keep the Sabbath, Sabbatical year, Year of Jubilee, dietary laws, the 7 feasts of Israel, clothing laws such as not wearing mixed garments as well as tithing and other things. It is really poor of preachers to pick one of those commands and enforce it on New Testament believers and threaten them with a curse. Either we are under the law, and should keep the whole thing or we are free from the demands of the law through what our precious Lord Jesus did for us at the cross. I know which one I am going to believe. Praise the Name of Jesus.

Under the old covenant of law, obedience was the root of all of Gods blessing. But under the new covenant grace is the root of all blessing. God blessed us first and obedience is the fruit.
Now consider the tithe. In the old covenant you had to tithe to get blessings and the windows of heaven to open to you. But under the new covenant it is Jesus Christ and His finished works that release blessing to you and not only are the heaven open for you but YOUR SEATED IN HEAVENLY PLACES!!!! That's a step up from Malachi 3!!! So it is grace to ask God to bless you when you don't tithe because it's asking for a blessing you don't deserve THATS GRACE! So in grace we receive good from Gods unmerited favor!!! Consider Adam! Did Adam give to be blessed in Eden? Did Adam tithed to be blessed in Eden!!! NO!!! Matter of fact giving didn't happen UNTIL man fallen!

To everyone reading this, i to had questions in my mind, and when i was not tithing my money was much better, i had much more and things was just flowing so to speak, then when i started tithing i notice that my money and things just started to die for lack of a better word. I argued with God and got angry with God, i said lord something is not right here, why is it that am giving my tithes as the Bible says, things are now worst, it wasn't until last week this year 2015, i was at work one night to my test, and i decided to do some research, and what i found blow me out of the water, and at the same time took a ton of bricks of my shoulders, i felt so free from guilt and stress, and all the scriptures was there to back it up. We have often heard that many preachers and Christians people be saying and quoting Malachi, but in my mind was is that the law that brings bondage and condemnation, how many Christian people that you know or see that have this so called over flow in money? none that i have ever seen, and if it was so true, does god has any limit? NO of coarse not, so then over flow means that you should be able to write a cheque for any amount right, tithing is in no way needed into today's modern church, and i think that many pastors know the truth, and will not teach the people, because the money pans will not be the same, and there life styles will dwindle, and some just don't know either.

I always tithed when I first gave life to the LORD, and faithful to it for over 10 years, i began feeling like I was in bondage about 7 years ago, and I started searching the scriptures, and found that tithing is NOT for the church today, Jesus fulfilled the law, the law was a schoolmaster until the promise came, Jesus was that promise, and those that are free are free indeed! we are not under the law, but the grace of God, praise the LORD for freedom!!

We are still under some parts of the Covenant. Read Read Read. People! Tithing was not originated to take care of the preacher! Tithing was an act of honor and covenant between man and God. Abram made an oath to God so that he would be able to get his nephew Lot back. When God gave him victory over a despotic king, He honored the Most Hight with the tithe. When Jacab was running from Esau (his brother) God came to him in a theophany and promised to provide, protect and prosper him. Jacab vowed to the Lord that he would give him a tenth of his increase if the Lord would bring his promise to fruition! Under the law the "LAND" OF CANAAN was promised to Abram's seed. When the got the land the tithed out of it to honor God for keeping His word. Tithing is COVENANT! get my book; Tithing, "YOU LIED TO ME1"

When I am dishonest with anyone, I feel guilty.
When I sin against God, I also feel guilty.
Is it because I am not under Law but under Grace, that I am not supposed to feel guilty?
Are we supposed to feel guilty when we are dishonest to God?
    What is Guilt? (John 9:41)
Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains."
In Romans 3, the Apostle Paul said; that we are not supposed to nullify the law, but rather, we should uphold the law because of the Grace that was given to us through Faith.
I personally believe that tithing should not be taken from believers as the Levites do, but I also believe that those who practice it cheerfully from the heart, has greater wisdom that comes only from God.
As the Lord said; "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much."(Luke 16:10)

The new testament says to be honest, and not sin. It never says to tithe. Let's follow what we are supposed to and not add more to God's word to support the dishonest preachers who teach tithing.

when you grow your people they should understand they don't pay, but give a a freewill tithe to institute a blessing, give and it shall be given press down shaken together running over shall men give unto your bosom, and a church is not a business that people pay into it, it is a house for the sick and down trodden, the house of God is a place for rest and it is our giving that keeps the doors open God take Care's of his own house by sending people in who are able bodies who are willing to sacrifice their time, money and talents, Jesus even said give unto Caesar what is Caesars, and give God what is God's, they didn't teach it because the grew the people to the point they understood it was for their good, look you don't count sheep you weigh them because you don't take skinny sheep to the market, meaning you grow people in their understanding and they will make a Godly decision

Antwan, you're right. Everything is 'free will'. This means if you got it, give something, if you don't have it, you're not required. I look at the word "Pay" and basically it denotes that you're in someone's 'debt'. So, we pay our light bill to get out of debt with the light company so we can continue those services for the following month. Feel me? So, when preachers holler 'Pay your tithes" or 'Pay God his money' it denotes the same. So, then I ask the question....Are we in God's debt and if so what service did he give us where we have to pay a tenth every week/ biweekly/ or monthly, b/c I thought salvation was free?

Well I can't stop how you think or feel, but when you understand truth and have a full understanding of God's Word, you understand I don't pay tithes to keep something from happening to me, but I give tithes to institute a blessing, God doesn't demand anything that's your own words, he says give and it shall be given good measure press down shaken together will men give onto you, study to show thyself approved, rightly dividing the word of truth, when they left Egypt God told them to keep the tithe while in the wilderness and God blessed them for it

Amen.. what is said, I have felt in my spirit, giving has always been a choice for those whom, own nothing...but those who own land which belongs to God are entitled to tithe. Giving of anything monetarily comes from the heart, that of which the Lord has increased you to give..Amen

Praise the Lord Saints, this man of God has studied the word and it's time for the body of Christ to study to show our selves approved unto God. This is not something new it has been in the word of God all of the time. We must rightly divide the word of truth. We are not under the law, so we must follow the man Paul that has been given all of the revelations for the Church.

Well, you can say it's "spiritual" if that helps you, but you cannot say that it is mandatory and demand other Christians to follow your opinion.
Remember, 1 John asks "How do we know if we know God?", "if we follow his commandments" So if tithing is a commandment for the New Covenant church we need to understand the what and the why of the tithe.
Problem #1: Tithes were NEVER paid with currency, only agriculture products.
Problem #2: The Levites were the main recipients of these agricultural goods aka "tithes" (Because they weren't allowed to own land or farm because their job was to fulfill the duties of the Mosaic tabernacle.)
Problem #3: There is not a single solitary verse that said that the early church paid any tithes whatsoever. Not one.
Problem #4: The NT church sold all their possessions and shared all resources. (So how could they pay tithes on no income?)
The sole reason for the tithe was to support the OT tabernacle priesthood. Because in the Old Covenant, there were lots and I mean LOTS of protocol and procedures that the priests had to do for so many little things and instances. Not only was it a full time job, it was a life long commitment that you were only born into. If you were born a Levite, guess what, you were a priest, and you didn't have a choice.
Also, Israel was a theocratic nation, and tithes were taxes. And there were more than one tithe. All the tithes combined made it around 23% give or take of food and livestock. Note: This wasn't something that Israel decided to implement themselves, these were really specific commandments. And God was specific on how to pay tithes and with what. This is why we see the Pharisee paying tithes with herbs and spices in the NT when Jesus was confronting their legalism. Also, this Pharisee was not a Levite, hence why he was paying and not receiving eventhough he was a type of priesthood!
So we see the function of the tabernacle laid out in the OT and we still see it being followed up until the time of Christ.
We dont see or hear anything about any Christian paying tithes because the Gospel says that WE are a royal priesthood and that OUR BODIES are the tabernacles of GOD. This concept bankrupts/obsoletes the OT structure of Mosaic worship.
This is why we do not see the need for tithing because there is no more tabernacle. You are the tabernacle, you are where the spirit dwells.
      I hope this helps.

I also had this revelation and I told my mom with a shaky voice because I thought she would think that I had lost my mind. I will not tithe what I do not have again or feel guilty if I do not tithe. There is therefore not more condemnation... I almost tithed but of guilt my rent but as I was walking out of the door I felt a strong feeling that my boy safety was more sensible. My two boys and I were in a motel as I was going through a separation and eventual divorce.

I think this is good spot on teaching! Personally I do not endorse fear tactics that suggest one is cursed if they don't tithe. However those who choose to tithe are demonstrating complete trust (in the area of finances) & walking in a faith that God will honor.

I am with you on this for so long I was under the old covenant b/c that was what I was taught until I came into relationship of my own with the Lord and I started feeling some kinda way about the tithe but I left it alone until I could get better understanding but I found in 2 Corinthians 9:7 about us deciding to give cheerfully and not out of pressure Now I understand why I've been feeling this way. Now God will speak to me what to give and it's not a 10th of my income.

I love it when truth is spoken! I live in Houston Texas and was wondering if anyone knew a new covenant based church in my area?? I just moved here and was looking for a church that teaches the truth of tithing and new testament theology! Churches believing Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John as new testament header the message of Christ and bring believers back into chains!

Well done to this pastor, for being diligent in rightly dividing the word of truth for his church. It is a testament to this man's REAL faith in Jehovah Jireh, his Provider, to openly share this teaching with his church, because now he has to trust God, and trust the generosity of his congregation to give by freewill and support his ministry. Thousands alongside him, and before him have not had the guts to do this, because they reap the fruit of tithing - which is clearly not a New Covenant truth (nor was ever paying a 10th of your monetary income EVER practised in Israel!).
