Another jazz giant who left us way too soon. Have fun jamming with all the cats we lost, up in Jazz Heaven, Joey D.
RIP Joey. One of the Greatest who ever done it.
Just found out Joey died August 2022 at 51 what a loss to jazz, my favorite organist. I visit this Jam often for the all that jazz offers, the swing, the rhythm, the beat, the tempo, it all comes together in this Jam. Jazz men in groups go to places together that you and I can never go, we can only can hear about it. Joey was a God kiss for people like us that love jazz and great musicians. R.I.P. Joey,. Loved you.
OMG!! Woww😢
That is way too young.
OMG so sad. I love Joey.
@@guitarttimman. Obviously, he was morbidly obese. That is what killed him. I, myself, struggle with obesity. I see the doctor, watch what I eat, exercise, but still am overweight. But, I will keep trying to control it. I liked Joey’s tone and kind of jazz.
@@thomaspick4123 God bless you man. I'm a diabetic and it's getting worse. Doc says the diabetes is running upy blood pressure and my blood pressure is causing damage. I take meds, but that only lasts so long. My WONDERFUL Sister has the same condition as yours too. It's so tough here man. All we can do is keep trying and praying for eachother bro. Best wishes man. I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks for all of the tuneage Joey. you will be missed but your music will go on forever. R.I.P.
Wow!! Rest in peace Joey D. I Just discovered this, it's bringing me peace. What a band. with Larry and the gang. Bless us from up above.
Our Brother, Joey DeFrancesco, during his time with us, contributed so much for so many with his style of jazz. He is now and will continue to be forever missed, but his legacy, his music and his mastery of the Hammond B3 organ (and other instruments he played) live on. Rest in peace, Our Friend and Mentor.
THE Good Die Young. ..but he leaves us with a blessing....his wonderful music
I first heard Joey when he, Christian McBride and Brian L played, as a trio, during a high school jazz concert in Philadelphia years ago. He was like a young Elvis. I knew his Mom and Dad as well. I have just learned of his passing. Joey will be missed. 🌾
God bless the memory of Joey D.....the greatest jazz organist that ever lived.
agreed
@JVossos Loved all those guys (and Shirley Scott as well)...I always considered Jimmy Smith my muse, guru and spirit guide...but I eventually had yo come to accept the fact that Joey was the greatest of them all.
Omg I didn’t know he died. A great jazz musician. Not just the Hammond B3, but trumpet. So sad. RIP.
One of my favorite performances from 'Studio Jams.'
RIP Joey
Master class in walking electric bass. Not that many people can do it this well.
Especially in this context. With a great bass player sitting at the organ.
One of my MOM´S favorites songs. Due to her taste. I used to played it in guitar to her. Miss my MOM !!!!,
Did you sing it to her?
Vejo em você um filho feliz!🇧🇷
Revisiting.... Look at how much fun they are having.. This is the way that music should be.....
🙏 RIP Joey..we miss you..
I miss Joey Tremendously!!?❤️🙏🎇
Great groove. Thanks for posting. I really like this. RIP Joey. Larry C and band are swingin!
Fab! Miss you Mr. DeFrancesco, you left a rather lovely legacy.
Some fine musicians
I love Joey. Y'all realize, don't you, that he opens this thing with a direct steal from Richard "Groove" Holmes Misty. If you haven't heard that, you really must. It's on TH-cam. And then after the Groove Holmes opening, it's pure Joey.
Yeah! First thing I thought of. Had that Groove Holmes cut as a teenager! 😃🙏
Stole or a tribute to Groove Holmes?
Yeah, I guess tribute is a better choice of words!@@williambojanowski7934
@@williambojanowski7934 affection as tribute - vise versa! Joey was pure love of these musicians.
Absolutely wonderful!! RIP Joey
RIP Joey. An absolute masterclass here by Landham (on drums) on staying in the pocket while swinging very hard.
RIP this great musician🙏
What an awesome musician!! So sad he’s not with us anymore!!!
Thank you Joey for all you did for jazz. Can’t wait to hear the tracks you did for Summer’s album. Rest easy.
What a great start to my Saturday morning
Very tasteful sax solo!!
Pray that God is blessing you now, Joey, as He blessed you on earth.
It doesn't get any better than that.
Where did that 21 years go ??? Music out of time. RIP Joey
ALWAYS...In the pocket, BABY!!🎵🎶😎🔥❤🙏 RIP Joey...⚘
Love Joey and Larry together on this classic tune. Joey and the Hammond B3 - the best!
we had the pleasure of meeting you at Ramon Bandas Reception 2019. Thank you for your great talents. RIP Joey. 💔🌹

Wonderful. Brings back many happy memories.
love those steady grooves , I love work , I could watch it all day , but I'd rather watch Joe and the pros tear it up !
Those musicians fit together like a precisioned joint on a fine piece of furniture...so great!
Nothin like jazz greats jammin. Thanks for that!
Btw, I’m learning this!
They sure were enjoying themselves, that's why it sounded so good !
Now that's what music is about!!
HIS ALBUM WITH VAN MORRISON……………….. OUTRAGEOUSLY GOOD…… MISS OTIS REGRETS ….
I can be pretty finicky when it comes to my food I eat but much so when it comes to music I listen to. I found nothing lacking, congratulation to all.
Takes me back to the fabulous Richard "Groove" Holmes version (1965) of this song.
I think you mean the original.
Love all the Joey D studio jams 🔥 🔥 🔥
Monsters !!! But RIP Mr.DeFranchesco
wow that was a stunning performance!!!!! amazing stuff thanks!
Wow
Fantastic
Puts me right there in the produce aisle,
All the wheels on my cart work smooth as silk, and I'm moving in on that perfect cantaloupe.
Got to hear Joey trying out a new trumpet at a NAMM Show years ago, in the Leblanc booth I think. Tearing it up! What a great talent. Heard him later in the Hammond booth too, of course. Ridiculous. RIP good sir.
Great to see everybody sounding great and having FUN. Man, do I miss Joey D !
멋진 명품연주 들려주셔서 감사합니다 항상 건강하시고 행복하세요 응원합니다 선생님 🥰❤👍🙏
RIP. I just learned. I guess I haven’t been reading the jazz magazines lately. I had the privilege of seeing him perform at Ronnie Scott’s. He tore down the house.
Me too. I saw him at Monterey Jazz Festival, the 50th. Killer.
Love this, real
clean Chris.
One of if not the best jazz organists I’ve ever heard!!!
He will be surely missed!!
Fine version; it really cooks!
This is AMAZING!!🏆
yes, i've got my loan today. we are playing a gig in Bar 42, Ljubljana, Slovenia, EU today with Blue train quintet. Greetings from jazz club Mezzoforte.
Miss Joey so much going to his performances here in Philly and LA
10/10 for the cameraman...the aspiring musician wants to know what these guys are doing on their instruments...11/10 for Joey's fashion choice...shirt matches the wallpaper purr-fectly, tough thing to do.
Master class! Love the smiles.
One of favorites done so well
Misty as a shuffle....why not....😀
sooo good. so tasteful solo from joey, especially the minor 9 at 4:56
Such a loss. RIP Joey…

Lovely organ version Joey
Brilliant.
Sois grandes músicos. Un placer escucharos
My favorite tune!
¡Qué belleza esa version de una composición verdaderamente misteriosa!
Joey and Tony Monico have filled Jimmy smith’s shoes on the B-3.
One word....JOYOUS!!!!
Joeyous!
Long live the magic of Joey D!!!
i love seeing Larry play as a side guy! He's ripping off those cool chords, not looking at his guitar, just smiling at Joey...
I put him up there with Jimmy Smith,Richard Groove Holmes, Jack McDuff, and Jimmy McGriff.Great organist🎉🎉
Brilliant!
Love it❤❤❤!
Great track! Go find Richard "Groove" Holmes "Soul Message" LP and tell me if you don't think Joey may have been influenced for this cut of Misty.
simply wonderful !!!!!
Wow!
Joggin' and jammin' into the perihelion!
What a great interpretation of a classic!
Incredible musicians!!
I'm old school 😊I put him up there with Jimmy Smith ,Jack McDuff,Richard Groove Holmes.,Jimmy McGriff😊

Nice music .
world class!
Saw him live with his band at William Paterson college in Jersey.
unfortunately RIP ...... God Bless you Joey
Yes! Larry!
I love the B200! Nice playing Randolph, as always! I see you played the bass pedals so much over the years your left Niki tennis show blew a gasket! Ha! Love your unique style!! 🎹🎶🎹🎶🎹 Hammond, the Sound, the Soul, the One!
Could you reiterate what exactly you are talking about?
The organ used in this video is a B3 not a B200. Also there is no Randolph in this video. The organist is Joey DeFrancesco.
Fenomenal!!!🎵🎶🇧🇷
Dang, I miss Joey
These people are at work. Do the people at your work look like having this much fun?
Joey! ♥♥♥
a very cool version
This would make Gert Wilden, Lalo Schifrin and Jimmy Smith happy men.
Cool.
Yeah! RIP Joey :-(
outstanding
Delícia de arranjo!!!👏👏👏👏
