An alternative to casting blade ward all the time or having on high ac heavy armor is using ring of regeneration/balduran’s helm along with gloves that provide blade ward when healed. Hellrider’s gauntlets are the act 1 version. There’s an upgrade in act 3 but I don’t recall the name. That way enemies will be more likely to target you in a party.
Oh hey! that sounds like you could then go bear totem barb as well to both give you resistance to almost everything, and let enemies attack you with advantage to hit more often, since you are no longer wearing heavy armor. (unless rage also blocks items casting spells? I'll have to try it, code can be funky)
I had an abjuration wizard in my party to get my golden dice and the AI would not target them and would almost always target the other 3, best for solo play I guess. A 1 lvl dip into sorcerer to get armour of agythys breaks the game and that draconic bloodline is by far the best option. Taking your armour off so the enemy can hit you is so counter intuitive but works very well. I prefer to play more normally so may spec a sorcadin to have max dmg reduction and armour of agythys active and then see if that character can ever die.
The items you need for this build are Create Water spell, Boots of Speed, Bonespike Garb, Swires Sledboard, Fire sheild: Cold spell, Hellish Rebuke spell (Warlock level 1)and Alert Feat. Make Gale a cleric camp caster and hit you with Warding Bond. Give Gale some damage reduction armor and Death Ward items if he can't cast it himself. Moving first is key. Wet them and run bye them. Chances are if they hit you they're dead. Get 2 levels in Sorcerer. There are ways to have unlimited sorcerery points (Sheild of Devotion, Spell Savant Amulet, Free Cast Illithid power). You can have 50 level 5 spell slots. So if they hit you they get double damage from Agthys and your shield, then get 6d10 fire damage for your reaction. Most rounds I don't even make a melee attack. This build really comes around when you get the Shield of the Devotion in the Last Light Inn early in At 2.
Nice. I ran a similar build in my honour run. Instead of war cleric i chose tempest. This gives an electric retaliation on top. Also i leveld wizzard to 8. Second feat was heavy armor master, wich reduces physical damage by a flat 3.
@PurgeEvilTV I really wish I would read the damage log as how I got the numbers. I'll tell you and let me know what you think. Had level 6 armor of agathys. Chill shield. Wearing the flash melter cloak and the Callous glow ring. So armor of agathys hit the enemy for 72, chill shield 56, cloak for 10 and then 3 ticks of 2 damage from the ring making 6. My character was stuck in hold person and NPC hit me for shocking grasp enemy and myself were wet. Did I just role really high?
Great build! It seems that the Brand of the Absolute isn’t _required-, yeah? Asking because my Balanced run with a Moon Druid Tav just got Halsin as a permanent companion, and I’ve already used the Hag’s hair on my Tav for a WIS bump. So the timing of this video is perfect! I’m looking to respec my Tav as a melee fighter, currently level 8 and half way through Act 2. Chosen Warrior of Agathys (Half-Wood Charlatan), Halsin Moon Druid, Shadow Light Heart, and Wyll (…be looking up a fun Warlock build) should make for a very viable and fun party comp.! Thank you!
Elemental Affinity does not add to the cold damage with armor of agathys. It also doesn't work with hunger of Hadar or wall of fire. Basically, Larian coded it in a half ass way so that a bunch of spells do damage as if they're through a "summon" and therefore don't benefit from your abilities or your items that cause things like encrusted with frost.
Hi sir, do you think you can play this build as a lone wolf all the way from level 1? Maybe im dumb but i have trouble managing 4 chars at the same time, its a bit overwhelming to me : so i'm looking for a build that can be self sufficient. This build and playstyle looks very appealing ! ty for answer and keep up the good work :)
wasn’t this build first shown on ‘ragegamingvideos’? feel like he posted it roughly ~3 months ago but regardless if you aren’t doing a solo run then you’ll notice enemy’s hardly target you, to fix this you can do a paladin dip to get compelled duel and it’ll make everyone inclined to attack you, or just don’t wear armor
Someone on Patreon also mentioned the duellists prerogative which I completely forgot about when making this and I haven’t seen that! I’ll have to check theirs out

That is a very good alternative thanks for sharing this !
@@PurgeEvilTV thanks for the build fam. 🙌
@@daveyfunk I haven’t tested this, sorry.

Why do you have so much wisdom? Thanks for the video.

Just make everyone this build lol
Spirit guardians and armour of Agathys is all you need. Insane build

Dude... op op
Can show this build please?

Very nice ⚔️
That was definitely one of those builds that I would've never thought of, will try it in the next couple of days
Let me know how it goes !!
Yeah this is giving me Ideas for a Gith Heavy armor master Sorcerer/Wizard
Yeah I have a variation of this build. Biggest damage from taking a hit was 144!
@@kevindimas253 gaahh that’s beautiful

I liked to see you play your builds in honor mode solo to see how they are used.

have u tried to combine the build with the Spirit Guardians spell?
I have not, but great idea. Def stack the radiating orb gear with that combo
Guessing you need to use dark arrows or darkness spell as ranged enemies NPCs remove your agathy it's also a slot goblin needing alot of long rest.

Thank you ⚔️ I might recommend 1 other party member being tempest cleric if going honor mode but if any other difficulty you should be fine
What do I have to do in order to have Counterspell and Shield reactions generate Arcane Ward charges?
Reactions can’t generate charges, because they’re reactions
Counterspell does generate them as of this writing. Shield still doesn't.
