Good day! Love your videos SO SOOOO HELPFUL! I am a teacher and have been trying to help some of my students learn to read using D and D… so naturally this game came up and now we are playing it in a high school friendly way:-).
I have been looking for two builds and I thought you had one but can no longer find it. One is the Sorlock build, which I think you have but I have not been able to locate it, and the other is I really REALLY wanted the ultimate Monk spell caster that is strong enough to go though a difficult play through. Monk and Mage… any hope of that existing in some powerful / fun way ? :-) thanks so much for all your videos and hard work!

Looks like a very fun build. I'm playing a 5 vengeance paladin/7 war domain cleric right now and it's a blast. Extra attack + war priest charges + extra spell slots = a lot of smites

Ability improvement and focusing on dex won’t give a bonus above +2 if using medium Armour, and you won’t get any ac bonus from dex if you are using heavy armour…
Only exception is the Yuan-Ti scale mail

`Thanks for this. A request on future BG3 content if I may, would be to start pooling all you have done and incorporate it into core potential party compositions based on combos and other fun gameplay mechanics, and meeting all the required roles (or not)?
With the fey amulet that you get if you visit the other quest part you can get a rapier that gives you an extra reaction. This would improve the im the only one you can hit aspect of the build by giving you 2 times to use your warding flare. It could also be paired with the sheild master feat which allow you to impose disadvantage on on allies near you.

Dude, Helmet of Arcane Acuity is perfect in this build. Attacks increase spell save DC, use Command Approach at level 3, 4, 5 to force enemies to ignore your party members, perfect tank helm
You can also kill the oathbreaker and not have to worry about it and get the 1000g back
Could be interesting to try to run this build with duellist's prerogative. Would give you an extra reaction and also allow you to cast challenge to duel as a bonus action at the cost of your shield.
A wizard with Arcane Ward combined with a Paladin might be interesting...
2 pally/10 abjurstion wizard?
I just had an honor mode run killed with tav being a durge war priest/sorcerer/abj wizard. Was the best run i've had yet. Not enough damage. Started a 2 pally/10 wizard last night and it's already better.
This would also work with Nature Domain which gives you Spike Growth and Plant Growth to slow down enemies with and at Cleric 6 lets you resist elemental damage

Nice build idea! But I'm having trouble understanding the focus in Dexterity... Heavy armor don't allow you to add Dex modifier to AC and most of medium armors, including the luminous one, only allow a +2...
Yeah dex only helps him with initiative since he is wearing heavy armor. He said early in the vid that it helps with AC which is just wrong. He should probably rethink the entire build on that error alone.
It would also help the most common saving throw for dex
How'd you get insight +2? I did exact same setup and could only get +1?
Is the dex super necessary for this build? I’m trying to make a tank paladin/cleric with high strength, but my dex isn’t the highest, my constitution is however.
What about spells? Do cleric spells go off of wisdom and pally spells go off of charisma?
Now i don't feel too bad that I rarely follow any of these builds to the letter. I might be a tactician player so therefore not "hardcore" but I always make sure to work luminous armor plus spirit guardians into my party somehow, that alone really does help damage mitigation immensely. And as of patch 6, there are no limits to luminous orb stacks so you can pretty easily make it so the enemies only hit on a nat 20 (and the higher the enemy has to roll to hit the better the light cleric reaction ability becomes)
Wont heavy armor cancel out the Dex bonus on AC?
Since the Spellcasting Mofidier is taken from the class I multiclass into last, you can simply lower the Charisma here and don't have to go get the amulet from the House of Hope
I think this is the class I want to hybrid I like cleric but I also love paladin so I hope this build works.
Is this viable if I go War Cleric?
It's not good tanking, but the bear wildshape actually does have a taunt ability (i think its called goading) but there are way better things to use your action on
It's a lot of fun actually - same thing as compelled duel, imposes disadvantage i believe! :)
The bear is fun, I'm in the middle of my 1st tactician run with a moon druid Tav and the sheer hitpoints helped so much in the early game
Guys need help. Any suggestion multiclass for Lae'zel but still include Her Fighter Class and suite her? Prefer for frontline.

Polearm master has been bugged since launch. Pretty sure they haven't fixed it?
Its opportunity attack is delayed so doesn't work well with Sentinel
I've had weird rubber banding with it, but it mostly works for me.

Wait. Didn't you have the Amulet of Greater Health on the Gale Barbarian? How you reconcile this?
He's just there because I'm swapping characters for builds, ideally I wouldn't use that on him and I'd focus on pure damage on someone like Gale Barbarian. Maybe strength gloves or an elixir :)

-1 to wisdom throws with a class that has this much support seems so risky to me. Theyre gonna fail crowd control saves like mad.
A fighter can fail a cc i dont really care.
But when my CC and support character slips turns it BRUTALL
That's what's so fun though. So many ways
Bard/cleric will give you proficiency in wisdom, charisma, (and I beleive dex?)
Put it to 12 and get +3 to wisdom and nuke str instead.
(Later in the game there are spells and items that protect your allies from cc's., but early game it can be brutal)
Also worth mentioning mage slayer gives you advantage to saving throws on ALL spells which is basically +5 to wisdom, dex, int, and charisma. And that applies at all ranges I beleive.
Disadvantage on maintaining concentration to enemies is limited 1.5m tho.
Why are you wasting all those points in Dex? Don't you lose all AC from dex if you wear Heavy Armor?
Dex also determines your initiative. If you wanna avoid using a feat to get alert, you'll wanna get done Dex
In BD3, role-playing is a lot more fun than min-maxing

Why put so much in Dex when heavy armor has no AC bonus from Dex?
Initiative really, to try and place ourselves in a location, allow flexibility towards other armors. I really didn't illustrate this point well enough, I'm sorry man. You CAN swap fully into strength and be just fine! I wanted to just focus on Dex this time around, even though we're going with heavy armor. Just don't feel locked into it, you can still go hard in the paint with light or medium armor - especially Armor of Agility, which I probably should have said would be awesome in this build as well since it's a TON of AC + all of your Dex
Also reflex saves
Going first is pretty important from my observation
@@justincampbell5987 there are no "reflex" saving throws. There are Dexterity saving throws and Paladin isn't proficient with them, so you will always be at a disadvantage no matter how much you pump into dex. There are also acrobatic saving throws, but again, not a skill Paladin or Cleric is proficient with. Both those classes would benefit far greater from Strength for saving throws through athletics, which helps being shoved.. Neither class is proficient in Strength saving throws. Frankly speaking, a +3 to saving from an AOE isn't worth the ability points you are sacrificing for things you will use FAR more.
@@italianspartacus personally I'd rather take Alert than sacrificing ability points that could be better used either pumping up str for damage or con for HP just for the sake of initiative. But that is the beauty of the game, you can tailor it to personal play styles. It is just you said at the beginning you wanted to put high dex for more AC when wearing heavy armor negates that.
I just can’t play a paladin because I have to slap annoying characters which breaks the oath too easily. Ps: Yay dd2! (On Xbox)
Playing a paladin and “not liking smites” is like going to swimming pool while allergic to water 😂😂 Also - smites are crazy good. I don’t know if there’s any other class which could out dps paladin smite burst damage. It hits like a truck on a highway.
You're bringing back bad memories of my first build... I was a 3e player and didn't get how 5e spell slots worked and assumed level 1 spells were useless (despite being a sorcerer from level 2 on).
Did I say I don't like smite!? Shit. I think I meant I don't like smite as the big focus for this build. I don't recall saying that Hahahaha. Smite is LOVELY
