I was unable to change into 6th gear in my Suzuki Hayabusa turbo powered Westfield kit car. I made a little video while investigating the problem. Please note, I've never taken a bike engine apart before and am a complete newbie when it comes to gearboxes, but I thought I'd have a go and try to work out what the problem was. So bear that in mind please.

Hi, just saw this and for anyone doing this and struggling with the circlip, there is a circlip in between 3/4th gear and 6th gear. Tempoarily slide it towards the 3/4th gear. Then slide (again towards the 3/4th gear) the washer, 6th gear and 2nd gear. This gives easy access to the circlip groove on the end of the shaft. Fit the circlip then slide back all gears washers and circlips towards the end of the shaft. Also goes without saying, this is the way to remove the circlip on disassembly.

So .. when I got it right, the former owner streched the circlip to much during maintenance, and it came off.
The end cog-wheels were allowed to slide and the dogs only just, or not engaged: dog-wear accelerated until failure.

hello pal my friend has a westfield and is looking to put a busa in it, we cant find anywhere to get engine mounts for the mesgabusa, searched far and wide. phoned westfield and they wouldnt give us the blue prints haha, anychance you know anywhere or would be able to provide some pics of some, drop me a reply cheers.

In the UK there are several places you can buy engine and gearbox parts from, but RLM Racing are hayabusa specialists and are helpful. I bought my parts from them, www.rlmracing.com
