JSKCKNIT Did it last week after a crash... was so happy that nothing was damaged that I turned it off after retrieving it in the woods then forgot to turn it on when I flew again! With my ability you didn’t miss much! 😂😂

Or you forget to hit record, then land and push the button... recording your battery change... then you shut it off again when you go to fly.

@@AGILISFPV well, I love flying with my buddies but some of them really don't care at all. Last time we met up at one of my spots. Been flying there for three years never had any trouble but of course everyone else kept flying near and over houses that are far away enough to not annoy the people there if you just fly the spot.
Anyway, cops were called and we had to leave.
I'm always trying to be respectful with my quad but some of my friends keep orbiting people, fly over traffic, close to residential houses etc. etc. ;)

hateetermalmaver - Actually this is a very, very good tip. I've had this happen twice. One time our group had permission to take over the Oviedo Mall here in Florida and do indoor drone racing with whoops. The new guy wanted to come with us when we had a meeting with the staff which was just fine. But I noticed he brought a GPS drone with him. I said, dood, we aren't flying today. We have to wait until the day. And dood, that drone isn't meant to fly indoors - you'd take off and then it would attempt to keep it's position and you will lose control. He said, ok. So then we split up and we hear a commotion in the food court! LoL! He launched his goofy anafi and what a surprise, it tried flying to it's last known position or something and it tried to escae through the rafters haha. Security had to bring in the big bucket lifter thingy, and needless to say our race day that we had planned for two months had to become an RC truck race. Bah! I won't bother with the other story, but that's a very good tip.
If you have a favorite flying spot, don't bring someone that will ruin it for you in the future.

Or maybe...just maybe... you fly just to fly and couldn’t give 2 cents about footage. Not everyone in the hobby is a content creator. Which in this hobby, and many other hobbies, are a dime a dozen. The people I fly with are all about perfect lines and settings on the gopro ect... seems I’m the only one anymore that has fun when we meet up.

    • @SCFPV
      @SCFPV 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@apsfpv2217 Right! I power loop my ass off, do flips, rolls, and pop-ups whenever the opportunity presents itself. I fly for the fun of it, and the escape from daily life. If I get good footage in the process, so be it, but that's not the primary reason I fly. Everyone has their own way of flying. Just because a certain someone thinks it's not cool or it's boring, or he's gotten to big for those things, it doesn't mean the next person shares the same mentality. Some people like myself still enjoy the hobby for what it is, A fun ass flight involving a bunch of random shit combined with a bunch of random shit.

You get better at it and it gets faster to do. People have told me "Man that thing is smooth" many times. Lots of new props from many good manufacturers are off. Lots of times it's only on one direction and the other is good. Be safe and since you have time,,,,balance your props!!!!

As always a well-thought-of video from the flowmaster himself :-) ... I got one for the list... My first field flight with my new LOS drone, walked half an hour to get there with my one and only drone... It got too windy, drone flew too far away, and i had not yet learned about the kill switch and why you should kill engines when crash landing in high grass... that drone burned an engine after 1 minute in the air... Dooh... But I received an invaluable life lesson right there, maybe even several lessons... at the time it didn't seem worth it though :-)

The tips are probably great by themselves. I just wish this could've been a blogpost that took about 30 seconds to read instead of 10 minutes of video. Oscarliang is a god-send, I think. When you google anything related to FPV, almost all the results are tedious videos. Some of them are good, granted, but I wish the people who has all this expertise could just post it as text instead. For example, for PID tuning, videos are better, because you can see and hear how the quad changes behavior. For other things though, text is superior. And, if you think you missed a step, you don't have to spool back and forth to try to find the exact second the presenter gave a certain detail.

Pack light and you might regret it. As I've lived its better to have it and not need it them to need it and not have it ! ! !

Another tip, when you've gotten that awesome Gopro or Dvr footage you are excited to share, please figure out your video editor enough to trim the minute you spend getting ready to take off out of your video so we can watch you fly before clicking away. Nobody wants to watch a minute of insects flying around in front of your stationary camera before you take off. 😀

i find using turtle mode and being lazy is the reason i need new props - no more turtle unless i need it for me!

danger! 1 more good one for new pilots. If you crash, take 20 seconds to fly back and just look at the quad for damage or camera movement. 2 incidents. Ive bumped things and kept flying only to find out later my gopro was now angled up at the sky. And the more serious was once again after just a little bump my balanve plug wiggled loose and was cut by the props... i flew for 3 more minutes with 6 cut wire blowing in the breeze, its simply a matter of luck that the lipo didnt short and burn, which is why you MUST ALWAYS have elctrical tape with you. I dont know what i would have done if i didnt have elec tape, i wasnt gonna bring that thing in my car and you cant just leave it, so have tape for any cut wires.

I run airmode on a separate switch. Full on freestyle, go for the dive completely committed, cut throttle and wonder why the f your quad is drunk... and luckily get to the switch in time before eating concrete..

Great vid....its great for us non-pro's see the pros still make mistakes...still crash...still have to retrieve stuck drones....reminds us all that even the best do what I do on a weekly basis. Thanks Drew. I like the personal reference to your skitzo experience, hadn't heard that one before....to funny. 👍

True. It reminded me of Roll Cage where I constantly lost track of orientation. I wish they mentioned the source of the video
