I cannot tell you how much-needed and wonderful to travel with you on the Camino. A girlfriend and I were looking at doing it this year..... however she passed over . I "walk/travel"🥰🥰🥰 with you and talk to her about what we would have seen and how we would have whinged and carried on... I cry and laugh every episode. THANK YOU for taking me with you. Donna would have loved you and your outlook on life. HUGS🥰🥰🥰🥰
@@isnoo1 Thank you for sharing Kathryn. I am so sorry you lost your friend. If you can, try and get here. If not, I am so pleased you were able to “travel” with me. xx
I made the same short stage...in order to fully enjoy Samos.
I had a sunny day.
But the way...is magic...like the Shire from...Lord of the rings.
Magic. Wild. Nature. Ancient villages.
And the monastery...as in visitors time.
Always a good entertaining narrative 👍
Lástima ya se acerca el final... Adelante, buen Camino 👍🏻
👏🙏✌
Sommerfuglebusk (Buddleja davidii) the Danish name means Butterfly Bush.
Snails, pigs, cows....pulpo 😏You said it.
Fantastic detail of the monastery. Thanks for filming. Please get new shoes - I’ve heard it said that you “pray with your feet” on the Camino.
Pablo was a cow (can spot an utter) and they get their horns burned off in the industry when young, very painful.
that village you passed by is nearly completely abandoned. I passed by in April and met a local who was fishing with his father and he told me that it's a shame that during the Franco Regime, many had moved away to other larger cities and often new countries. He also said that back in the day there were many land owners who were dependent on gaming and agriculture but with new agricultural technologies and because so many had fled, living there was no longer fruitful. Quite sad. I feel the mayor should try to bring back some life to such beautiful villages. Maybe with the support of the thousands of peregrinos who walk through there. The name of the village is San Cristovo Do Real .. Buen Camino!
@@jesusordonez4238 thanks for sharing this story. Perhaps they can put an alburque there as a start and see if that can bring back more life into that beautiful village.
Bye a new pair and bring them back down under, so you can walk in them back home.
I think I'm late to give you information but I'll do what I can.
This is your best video. I didn't know you were going this route. For me it is the best. I love seeing you so smiling. I like to think that it is because you like Galicia, the land of a thousand rivers. And I'm glad that it rained a little, that's how you can best enjoy its landscapes, but you, as an honorary Galician, already know that. We have more than a hundred words for rain.
What seems to you like dragon scales on the roofs is the traditional way of fitting together the pieces of slate used as roof tiles in the area.
Those elongated constructions that you have seen are hórreos, piornos, etc., they have several names. We use them to preserve and dry grain. On the roof they have two protective symbols, the Christian cross and the solar spear of Lug, lord of the sun and protector of crops. Maybe in other places one god is enough but here we need all the help we can get.
Jess has good taste, Estrella Galicia (my favorite) and Galician empanada. But please, no forks, the empanada is eaten with your hands.
And one last thing, if not this will drag on, the monastery guide talking to you about nymphs. I loved it. As a Galician writer said: "We Galicians are 80% Catholic and 100% pagan"
Btw, yes it was O Cebreiro cheese
@@xangarcia2677 wish you would go on I learn so much from you. O’cebreio cheese - what animal? Is it goat? I loved it.,
Land of a thousand rivers? Really? That’s awesome. I am DELIGHTED you have bestowed upon me honesty Galician status. Especially as you are a descendent of the king are you not? Be nice to the bartender in ocebreio ! He probably did not know how to do a coffee liquor
@@Walkwith_M I'm glad to be of help. In Galicia all cheeses are made from cow's milk. And about belonging to the monarchy, they are just family myths. Don't worry, I'm not going to do anything to the waiter. We encourage that type of people to emigrate 😂
Hi M, love watching ur videos each day, I’ve just bought Altra Olympus 6 for my Camino next April, just wondering which Altra’s you are using as I see they are starting to fall to bits! 😢
I don't know why M's shoes are so destroyed. When I go to the Camino I buy the generic Decathlon ones and I can still use them for a couple more months 🤔
@@cazdutch9083 I have the Altra Olympus 5. I don’t know it is so smashed but it could have been the molinaeseca descent on a stormy day - those rocks really chewed them up . Still wearing them!
@@Walkwith_M thanks for the reply, sad that your pilgrimage is getting near to the end
@@cazdutch9083 me too
Will do another one next year maybe
It is a corn storage called horreo
@@catherinefeugereux2836 thanks, great to know
