- Hi Point JXP 10mm "Budget Handgun" For a cheap 10mm pistol, this worked fine for me. It is not high quality but it runs.

As over-priced as I find most pistols today, I love seeing Hi-Point do this.
A two hundred dollar Hi-Point is better than no gun at all. Loved the video.
That was my logic too.
I keep hearing how reliiable they are. Why would you say it's better than no gun at all? That's a fairly degrading comment. I get that they're heavy and minimalist functionally.
@@jeffh2125That's literally what i'm thinking! I
Think high point is much better than glock!
I owned a few Hi-points early on in my gun buying days. No regrets.
Never had a problem with any of the Hi Points I've had over the years. I've mostly messed with their carbines, which are absolutely awesome.
my local retail store has the 10mm for 200 too. i own the 40 & just bought 45 few months ago. i'll always support them since their guns always go bang & great price for a truck gun. plus they are USA made from ohio & 90 minutes from me.
I love my 45! Gonna get a 10mm too why not bucks, right baby. I just found the 10mm, came out. You can stop a bear! Why not?
@@campdoggs2959I just ordered the 10 MM myself. We poor folk up in Montana appreciate a budget pistol that’ll ruin a bears day when we’re in the woods. I’ll have to get the 45 too
Have you tried to see what kind of accuracy you can get from the 45?
50 oz. I'd say is about right for a simple blowback 10mm lol. Thank you for saying out loud what other reviewers don't want to.
Not for girls and weak wristed dudes lol😂
Hi-Point haters everywhere just had minor strokes 😁
Just read in Firearms News in the review of this gun an interesting point: while other manufacturers have had recalls over the years Hi Point has NEVER had a recall. Food for thought.....
👍👍thanks Dan. One thing I’ve always liked about you is that you show and review firearms from different price ranges, from the highest to the lowest you show all of them.
I really appreciate that Lance
My experience with Hi-Point pistols is very limited. It ran fine and was accurate enough for about any need. The carbines, on the other hand. Out of several, I have experience with. Absolutely a blast. My wife has her 9mm in our bedroom for home defense.
Agreed Jon
A hard hitting round like 10mm is the perfect match for hi-point pistol design... they should have done this a LONG time ago
No doubt Tex
My Jxp 10 is so cursed… muzzle brake, light laser with a scope dot sight… it’s soooo heavy. I love it, it makes me smile haha
The first video of yours I ever saw was a Hi-Point 9mm on an old dirt road with you and one of your buddies. That was what made me subscribe to your channel. All the other gun channels wouldn't touch a Hi-Point. I have a 40 S&W model and it has never once had an issue and it is as accurate as any other handgun I own. I will always own a Hi-Point. If you contact Hi-Point they will send you a new rear sight no questions asked. Great customer service.
That's a rare breed of gun where the ammo may cost more than the pistol! :-)
That's true David
Hipoint has great customer service 👌 👏 👍
I've been watching you for a couple years, I was out of shooting for 29 years, I decided to buy a gun to target shoot with my buddies. Smith and Wesson 38 K Frame is my FAVORITE, I found one right away, I decided to research Hi-Point because I new guys that had them in the 90s. I watched every Hi-Point video on TH-cam, I bought a C9 2 years ago. I love it, bought the JXP 10 just over a week ago.
It's a tack driver. I had to have the 10 because it's huge and I think it's a gorgeous firearm.
Thank You for your reviews I enjoyed them and used your tips to make them run smoothly.
I love my Hi-Point C9 and JXP-10 as much as my 1988 Smith and Wesson model 64
This Hi Point is going to be a hit, because it's a big gun and a big mystic 10mm
Awesome video can't wait to get my hipoint carbine out to the gun range
Great video Dan. I’ve got a threaded barrel yeet cannon g1 with $100 bill grips lol. It’s been reliable. I bought it just because. My first handgun when I was 21 was a hi point c9 it was pretty reliable through several thousand rounds. It cost me $112 and I was thrilled to finally own a handgun!
Been waiting for this review!!
Great video Dan...it is important to point out that you can get functional guns for a cheap price. Personally, I think High Points are ugly, but that doesn't matter...they work!
Exactly true Bill
Thanks for this production. Now I want one. Although, it's not made of pot metal. The barrels are button rifled steel, and the frames are a zinc alloy with magnesium, aluminum, and copper.
"zinc alloy with magnesium, aluminum, and copper"
That's literally what people mean when they say "pot metal".
I have a major complaint concerning the JXP 10mm Dan.
Ain't nobody can keep them in stock long enough to buy one around my parts!
I wonder if the buyers sneak in and out store wearing sunglasses
Love HI-POINT
😊 Apparently you can fire 40sw through the JXP with no issues.
I have a lot of 2000 dollar pistols. I bought this because it is cheaper than my shoes. I love it. Not one malfunction
Not bad for 200 bucks!!
Hello from Tennessee the highpoint is a great gun for the price they are tough and dependable and great customer service and when you run out of ammo throw it at them 😅
I’ve had the 995 carbine for years . I’ve now got the JXP10 internet ordered ($161) since no local shop has any. Can’t wait to get it.
Great video!
Awesome my wife bought one. You won't be displeased this thing is amazing gun. We payed 184.99 which was a great deal, but 161.00 is amazingly cheap wow. YOU WILL NOT BE DISPLEASED. I Always wanted a 40caliber pistol, but when I found out a long time go that a 10mm is a 40caliber long. I stuck with a 10mm. The guy Scott on kentucky ballistics calls it the poor mans cannon which we are😂
People like to hate Hi Point, but the 40 I had many years ago shit every time I pulled the trigger and it was quite accurate once you got used to the trigger.
Thanks bud
The only thing I think would make a hi-point better looking is a grip that would go well with that biggo looking slide😉 thank you Dan, God bless!!
Great shooting my man.
This firearm is impressive. Eerily similar to an early blowback operated handgun by Hk called the vp70z.
Many owners of which have said the Hi-Point's are more reliable.
Oh the gun snob irony...
Take comfort Hi-Point, for thou art vindicated by H&Ks earliest attempts to establish their name.
I will alwys have at least a couple "useful IS as useful DOES" Hi-Point's in my collection.
Practice makes Proficient.
May you and yours receive all good things.
Peace
Very cool man, great comment
Not a fan of high point, but agreed you have to give it to them for making a working gun at such a price point.
Hi-Points are typically ugly, but I will say they improved the looks a bit on this model. Hi-Points are the old Ruger P series guns of the 90s: priced low but built like a tank. I'd buy one. Thanks Dan.
Does your employer have a vision plan?
@@whatsup24_7 care to elaborate on your question?
@@RoadKing-ky2bs Most employers have medical, dental, and vision coverage. With the vision coverage you can get your eyes examined because you prob need heavy glasses.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@What's Up? Yep, I have an excellent vision coverage plan, get my eyes checked annually, and all up-to-date on my lenes, so thanks for asking and for caring! As I said, this model's looks are a little better than prior Hi-Point generations: so, in other words, a little less ugly. I still prefer my Sig, Smith, Walther, Beretta, etc., always. I get the hate on Hi-Points (looks, functionality, cheap pot metal pots); but reliability seems to be going for them. Hence, my comparison to the P series Rugers of the 1990s. Hard to argue against that point. YMMV.
@@whatsup24_7 BTW, you used the same vision comment on me about 8 months ago. You really need to come up with a new comedy skit 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The big problem with Highpoints is they are big and bulky but single stack only. It ain't 1911 anymore.
Beats a sharp stick tho
Haven't shot mine yet. I did the combo, got the carbine too. My JHP45 has a really bad trigger. This JXP has a fairly good trigger! Spare mages are hard to find right now they are selling so many of these!
Jpx vs carbine, opinion?
Still haven't tried either one. @@yokai-vr3jz
My first 9mm was a stallard who hipoint bought great pistol.
Can't wait to get my hands on one, but have to pay off credit card just bought another gun a couple of weeks ago. GUNS are very addictive once you buy one you want more lol.
Fan of this channel for years. $200 sweet price
I appreciate that Danny
Ive never owned a hipoint but I wouldnt mind picking one up some day as a plinker
10mms are great. Thanks for this review. You got a heck of a deal for $200!!
Much appreciated Mark
Heck yeah i just got mine yesterday same price now im workin on gettin ammo which is a chore in its self lol . Im leaning twards Remington Golden Saber and Underwood hard cast 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Thx again Dan for your perspective
hey DAN THANK YOU FOR FEATURING HI-POINT 10MM 4 MONTHS AGO, I AM AN ETERNAL LOVER OF HI-POINT GUNS, I HAVE C9, JHP45 & 9MM CARBINE THE BEST AMERICAN GUNS EVER, ACCURATE,DURABLE & RUST FREE VS. 1911 PURE STEEL RUST EATERS!
Very cool Hen. Thanks for checking it out
Well, I bought one and just got it out to the range today. Now I’ve owned several hi points over the years, and am now down to just this one and the jhp 45. This is a very strange feeling thing to shoot. I had trouble finding the break on the trigger, and the impulse of the slide moving is very strange. It’s very different than my 45 jhp. Anyway, it’s gonna take some more practice to master. Overall, I can’t complain given how cheap it was.
Great review on the Yeet Cannon! Thinking I might get one myself. If I'm going 10mm, I think 50 Oz might come in handy
Thanks Tim
Thanks for the excellent review!
I just got one off GunBroker for $155. Looking forward to getting it to the range and trying it out. Thanks for the review and keep shooting 😊.
2nd VDO that lost the left red dot on its rear sight after 1 magazine.
Good VDO Thank You
Send some of that cold down here, Florida is already sweaty hot. 🥵 nice vid👍
From the ones I have saw and the ones I have read about the gun is pretty much flawless up on firing. Various 10 mm rounds and even 40 S&W ran great. No I do not own one but I plan on it soon just because it’s a 10 mm and there are haters in this world for the Hi-Point and I know it will work. I saw one review where a guy was using his reloads and complaining about failures to feed factory ammo works fine.
When I get one I will replace the rear sight and add the Picatinny rail and red dot and yes use it to hunt with just because I can. I have a couple of real nice high end 10 mm and I think this one will fit in there just for fun.
I hear that Hi-Points can be hit or miss. But so can other more expensive guns. The good thing is that they are inexpensive and have a lifetime warranty.
Also MADE IN USA 🇺🇸
That's the embarrassing part
Great review. You almost made the Hi Point YEET cannon look desirable. Almost…
I have the 40 jxp it is heavy however recoil is nonexistent and it shoots flat and accurately. It is also reliable not bad for 150.00 bucks. Might pick up the 10mm after I get a few more pistols.
Can't wait for the YC9
It's been forever
@@TheFirearmGuy
Yessir, hopefully sometime this year like Hi-Point said in ShotShow this year, but I'll believe it when I see it.
The JXP 10 is sweet AF. I'm going to have to get one. . .
thanks for show it ,always wondered about this gun
Thanks for showing its possible to put a red dot on it. Nice review!
👍👍 I have owned two Hi-Points. They were both fine shooters.
This is the fourth TH-cam video I've seen where the rear left-side painted sight sticker came off. 😅
Looks like you got a good purchase on that pistol.
I love mine cheap stash gun works great accurate
Yo Danno, nice looking gun for the money. Great video as always. Thanks for showing.
Thanks Murat
Good for you for not defaulting to beating up on their quality. This video felt like an actual unbiased review.
Thanks bud
@@TheFirearmGuyagreed. I always see people beating up on them because of the look and price. Living in NW Montana we appreciate a deal and could care less about name brand as long as it keeps us safe in the backcountry.
I have a high point .45acp as my truck gun and have never had an issue.
Great to hear Justin
Great woods carry gun for $200. Over 600rds and no malfunctions. Still beats any 9mm,40,and 45 when a big ole bear is around.
How I wish that hi point would come out with a hi cap version that uses Glock mags. They can make both pistols and carbines in this version.
Would love that
Good review. I enjoyed it. I had a 9mm High Point many years ago. Think ran like a Swiss watch. Finally got bored with it and sold it for more than I paid for it. I've never had much interest in the 10mm, but this might change that. Why not?
For $200 you can't get hurt
Great review and range test my man! I have owned expensive handguns and have done a ton of shooting with a Glock 22 40 cal. This review just sealed my decision on asking my wife to get me one for Christmas. For the price...reliability and accuracy are great! It looks like High Point did a good job on redesign a bit too. I will be excited to get and shoot. Thanks again for a great vid and test!!! Helped me out tons on making a decision. Huge shout out to ya here in Michigan.
Very cool! Anthony, thanks man
Oh c'mon ...no limp wrist test face?? We miss those!! 😊
Hey, Dan!
Qué pása, Bro!
I’ve been surveying @ Culebra Island, Puerto Rico…finally tonight I have about 45 before CHOW!
Air Assault, Amigo!🇵🇷💪🏻
I have been looking at either 10mm or .45 at the gun show. I bought a .45
Small handgun and I am thinking of getting the 1911 gun this time.
I always would choose a 1911
I remember that CP380 video well.I used it as a reference when I did a video on the Hi Point 9mm carbine about 8 years ago.
Great review as always!! I'm on the fence still tbh about this brand but I'm getting closer to buying them them further..7lbs is heavy for a smaller built guy truthfully..
Thanks Chris
I by no means own super expensive guns and am by no means a gun snob, get what you can afford. But my lord, does every HP have to look so hideous??? Great video Dan
I gotta get one!
50oz! It’s the four beer gun and it takes four beers to feel like you have a cool gun lol.
Honestly $200 is awesome.
Don't forget Hi Point made in the USA helping people also with jobs in the USA.
People make fun of Hi Point gun designs, but as far as I know they are the only company to ever make a blowback pistol that runs high energy loads. The C9 is the only 9 mm that my wife will shoot because that heavy slide helps lessen the “sharpness” of the recoil.
Solid point Clyde
Thanks for the honest video about the overall value of Hi-Point pistols value.
I love hi points
Remember.... for every derogatory comment about HiPoint firearms, there's an Englishman who wishes he could own one. 🤔
Dan you should've waited a couple days and posted this on April fool's day
Thinking seriously of one for a truck gun.looks fine to me. I'm not leaving my Sig in my vehicle.
Holy shii
This looks like gucci got into the gun business ngl
Especially with the grip like omg
I like it
Have one ran 250rds.Blazer Brass...S&B....and SIG V Crown JHPs at 50ft. BIN Laden Target was able to knock his right eye out....This pistol is very accurate and of the 250Rds. I shot i had 0 issues NONE ....Glad i bought this Pistol like it like my Smiths and Rugers...its a Keeper,a fun gun...I am now a 10mm convert..Thought 45acp was all that not any more!!😊
Great to hear Leonard
I like high point for reliability reasons not because of looks but the only thing that's pot metal on the high point is the slide its cast and heavey
the barrel all the rest of it or not pot metal. All the components that really matter are Steel what's a polymer frame.
I need to show Moo Moo this. He has a High Point.
Great video. If my money was enough for pay no more than 200 for a handgun, I would buy it.
I meant when the Springfields first came out But I guess price of labor has gone up in Croatia
At 50 oz if you don't bring down your target in10 rounds, you can use it like a club.
Awesome video, I have been trying to find one of these and for $200 that is a great deal.
Just purchased one of these specifically for aim and wrist conditioning! Turns out it's a pretty fun gun and its very accurate as well as reliable for 200 bucks.
This is the third review I've seen where the left side dot of the rear sight popped out.
Interesting
Humble review👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
I just picked mine up, it's so beefy 😂
For the 10mm recoil, you need a heavy pistol.
NICE SHOOTING! Hey, Taurus came back. Why can't Hi-Point? A best buddy bought their 9mm on a lark. I teased him about....He reports that it's surprisingly reliable!
Most Hi Point owners feel the same way
I hope everyone buys one or two so they start making more 10mm ammo!
No argument here
Got 100 rounds through mine just recently got a olight Baldr rl for it and plan on adding a bushnell rx100 as well
Very cool John
