This is flippin' amazing! I wish I could have seen Whitney live in the 80's/early 90's. No question, the best female vocalist ever. She commands a stage and exudes sex appeal while still keeping it classy. Mariah, Celine, Madonna, Janet, Toni, all wish they could sing like this. a good way to tell if someone is truly a soprano or alto is age. when your young, you can practically sing anything, but when you get older, if your voice drops (like mine did) you were never a true soprano to begin with. Diana Ross, Mariah carey, and patti labelle still have high sporano voices, at theur ages. btw Whitey houston took the alto keys with duets with CeCe winans and Brandy (cinderella). and her rendition of "Home". It was obviously more comfortable for her.

Not true at all, I can reach these same notes whitney can on these songs, but in the choir, i sing alto. Just because you can hit notes, dosnt mean you can fully sing them throught out the song. its called range. Diana ross is a true soprano, or patti labelle. Whitney is an alto with great vocal traning and a wide range
She can shes just far more versatile than any other singer which is why she changes the vocal arrangement. They are always just as good if not BETTER than the original. If you wanted a lip syncing wannabe you know where to go. Plus your judge of talent is so far below par.

Not even close, altos phsyically cant hit the notes she hits. Shes a soprano just vocal abuse, hard living and incorrect technique has made her range currently more like an alto.
