Once we tone down the demons and introduce microtransactions, they will come to appreciate-“ Bethesda slams fist into the screen and grabs the Doom rights before walking out, never looking back.
+Zack Yeah, looking back now with how things went with Bethesda now-a-days it would have been better to go that route. I was just putting the whole scope of what happened with Doom between 2005 to 2016 into perspective of what it meant for us gamers. Really hope Eternal is good, if not better.

No. This game actually helps us letting out all the rage in a virtual world to prevent getting sick in real life. This is the perfect opposite. After slaying hundreds of demons, all you feel is peace, and satisfaction.
When this game first came out and people were expecting it to be trash based on the lack of the review copies and shitty multiplayer beta, this scene single-handedly shut up every single doubter in a fucking heartbeat.
This may be the best opening to a game of all time
When that door opened, and that shotgun was charged, you knew.....
It was on.
damn....that just sets the tone perfectly
After 5 years of this amazing game being released, this is still one of the best intros in gaming history. It makes you feel what the doomslayer is feeling. Pure anger and hatred towards demons. I remember the first time I saw this and I felt like killing every demon I saw. Best intro of 2016 hands down.
I'd play trough DOOM 2016 again just for this cutscene.
1000th time seeing and it still looks badass.
0:13 the irony though
Fucking beastly. This got me addicted to the games music.
This is when Doom came back to reclaim the throne
This was the moment that everyone agreed that Doom was alive and well
Always come back to this. It is just perfection. The rage and anger in doom guy is transported without saying anything yet it is so powerful
Satan: "we're out of coffee!"
Doomguy: 0:24
“Story in video games is like story in a porn movie, they’re expected to be there, but they’re not that important.”
- John Carmack, the creator of the first DOOM game
*rips and tears*
videos that precede legendary events
this game has both badass intro
and outro
Even though this was the beginning, I knew after the title popped up and the slayer loaded his shotgun, this was going to be an amazing game.. And it was!
Hayden: Me explaining to my parents over the phone while hiding at a friend's house that I didn't hit my little sibling on purpose
Doomguy: My parents coming to beat me with the family car
It took them 24 hours of horrible events to realize that yes, they have to wake this guy
Это охрененно. Одно лишь интро описывает всю игру
This is 🔥
This is so well done. I immediately was on board once I saw this when playing for the 1st time.
It was certainly different to see a character getting furious over people suffering…..
When you see this intro for the first time you think one of these things (or both)
"This is gonna be good"
Or
"This isn't a normal FPS"
The cracking of the knuckles, the twitch in DOOM guy, the lack of care for the scientist. DOOM Guy doesn't give a damn about what happened. All he knows is one thing.
Kill. Every. Last. Demon.
Complete with the music, this scene is perfect. I remember a DYKG video on DOOM where one of the directors said along the lines of "If you're playing DOOM, you don't give a damn about story. You're there to do one thing and one thing only. Kill demons" DOOM 2016 did that perfectly. DOOM Eternal is going to be just as, if not better.
Eternal will have some story though.
Eternal intro is fine, but this was promise of something you will remember
Pov, you're the demon that just killed the doomslayer. You have one breath of relief before realizing god will be sending him to hell
This was one of the games where the music made me pick the hardest difficulty
why oh why doom eternal couldnt be this minimalist. we really didn't need lore dump on our faces. "less is more" as doom 2016 showed
If you watch the most recent version of this, the shotgun cocking is now exactly synced with the end of the music. Gives me chills every time
A smart demon hears the music " welp time to run."
This is probably the best intro to a game ever
I already played the game, i watched this video a thousand times yet i can't help but hype myself and smile like an idiot when the Slayer punches the screen. It's just so fucking good.
The opening of that game was one of the best of any games ever. It just immediately caught you and put you into the mood. Doom Eternal is a big step backwards in that regard.
The way he cracks his knuckles means he is ready to rip and tear
I'm willing to take full responsibility for the horrible events of the last 24 hours, but you must understand: our interest in their world was purely for the betterment of mankind. Everything has clearly gotten out of hand now, yes, but it was worth the risk, I assure you.
Thanks for the subtitles, MommyDommyMilkers
Ur welcom👍
The knuckle cracking asmr is so satisfying
Needed to scratch that itch and this video let me do it without having to boot the game up.
Got my chills. Thx, JezaGooner.
i cant get enough of this clip
idk why but the part in the game where you get to see a human sacrifice ritual pissed me way the hell off
oh yeah.
Activision on a screen: “I’m willing to take full responsibility for the terrible journey since 2005. But you must understand-“
Bethesda stares angrily
Activision: “-our interest in this series was purely for the benefit of the fans, without the controversy. Things clearly did not turn out like we hoped. But it was worth the risk, I assure you. Once we tone down the demons and introduce microtransactions, they will come to appreciate-“
Bethesda slams fist into the screen and grabs the Doom rights before walking out, never looking back.
more like id is doom guy and bethesda is hayden but whatev
This aged terribly
Try this skit with Bungie and Destiny if that helps
+Zack
Yeah, looking back now with how things went with Bethesda now-a-days it would have been better to go that route. I was just putting the whole scope of what happened with Doom between 2005 to 2016 into perspective of what it meant for us gamers. Really hope Eternal is good, if not better.
TJ Jordan Oh it definitely looks like its gonna be better.
I never played doom before this and lads telled me this is a horrorgame
I did not expect to play as the horrorcharacter
It was just perfect
This is why we love doom guy
He’s not into that anime style 3 hour conversation of who is and isn’t justified
Doom slayer knows just as well as we(the players)know that Samuels is completely full of crap and just smashes the audio transmitter in the most bada$$ way possible
Now that's how you make perfect intro! first time i watched i wasnt ready and it blew me away
It's such a good scene... Just the look to the dead body after the other guy says it was for the betterment of mankind.
You can pretty much hear doomguy saying "...Is THAT really better for mankind?!".
