    Legend. The best thing is, your tutorials work. Are easy to follow.
    And you show the process of thought.
    Thanks!

    That trick of using nat/pat to have the packets traveling back to the home network is just awesome. That explains the doubts that might arise when asking what about the route back from the internet. You are a good man and your explanations are just accurates. Best regards my guru friend. Hope you can get back to me. Saludos desde venezuela

    There will come a time in PT, if it hasn't already, when you know you have the config right but the device is not operating as configured. In these cases, you can cop run st (or wri mem) and reload the device and it will start working correctly. Other times you may have to save the PT file, close and re-open. Both tricks have worked for me to correct some bugginess, and it drove me crazy trying to t-shoot a dhcp relay config, early on in my studies, until some one shared these tricks with me. Unfortunately neither helps with the issues I am seeing in the DAI configs. Great video as always, love the trick of setting up NAT on connecting router so that the home router knows the connected route that it can respond to everything coming from the lab.

      @@KeithBarker Do you recon that I still go for the MCSA and is the video training sufficient to prepare?
      I know this question is out of scope but will still like to know.

    Hi Keith. I'm late to finding but it's perfect. I've been struggling with the idea of how to use a simulator to really simulate real live scenarios I'll need to know for the ccna exam. You just save me from buying a bunch of equipment. Thanks.

    Packet Tracer 7.3 & 7.3.1 does support the Ctrl-Shift+6 to interrupt the TTL when you were doing the traceroute command. You can also use Ctrl-Shift+6, then "x" in earlier versions of PT.

    Hey Keith,
    About the integrated router and server connected to it, you are assuming the router is recieving internet from the server. But you have connected it to a ethernet LAN port instead of the the internet port. Is there anyway we can get connectivity when we connect to to internet port? I have tried to do it but didn't work on mine.

    Question: For DHCP servers do companies have one at each site? or do they have one or two located somewhere on there network supplying IP addressing to there remote sites? For example HQ is in New York and has a DHCP server can that same server hand out ip address to the remote site in FL? or will FL have to have its own DHCP server? Is that a good design or bad?

    • @KeithBarker
      @KeithBarker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the question Cedric Jones. The company would want to protect against a failure. Usually DHCP is not relayed over a WAN but it could be. If the WAN fails, there should be a local DHCP option.

    what happens when you run the "no ip domain lookup" on a live router?

    • @KeithBarker
      @KeithBarker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the question Saibot.
      On live gear, if you issue:
      no ip domain lookup
      or
      no ip domain-lookup
      it tells the device to NOT try to use a DNS server for any name resolution tasks.

    Keith, you know what would be great? Incorporating Splunk into Packet Tracer! You can even use a Gmail SMTP relay. I checked it out and am using this in another lab to send alerts --- splunkonbigdata.com/2018/09/03/how-to-configure-email-alerting-using-gmail-smtp-in-splunk/. That would be cool to see. If I beat you to it, I'll send it to you! As usual, much appreciation to you and keep up the amazing work you do.
