Tricking Big Sheepshead Into Biting My Lure, Kayak Fishing With The Cranka Crab 65mm Artificial Bait

  • In this video I'm catching keeper Sheepshead again with the artificial crab lure in a major Florida inlet. I've consistently caught big fish with the Cranka Crab over the past month from shore and while kayak fishing. There's no doubt in my mind now that Sheepshead are attracted to this fake bait. During this fishing adventure I was periodically applying some of the Procure Inshore Scent on the lures to make them even more like live crabs.
    Highlights of what's in this video:
    1. Catching Seabass and Sheepshead with the artificial crab lure that has Procure Inshore Scent on it
    2. Reviewing my new quick release kayak anchor set up
    3. Watching powerboats throttling though the Gulf of Mexico Florida Inlet
    4. Enjoying dolphins swimming along side of my kayak
    5. Some good pelicans in flight footage
    6. Dealing with relentless rolling waves from big boats
    Let me share a few tips with you on how to catch Sheepshead with the Cranka Crab 65mm lures. I generally cast the lure out, let it sink to the bottom, then I gently twitch the along the bottom during the retrieve. The application of the Procure Inshore Scent is very light and applied
    about every twenty to thirty casts.

      Yeah, when I fish that pass I like to wear the larger vest that guaranteed to instantly float. That inlet certainly holds some things to be extra cautious about.

      Thanks for watching. Yeah, I have to really keep my eyes and ears tuned in to my surroundings at all times. I'm really grateful to have a kayak that allows me to fish that inlet though. When that huge boat came close to me in this video...that was a wake up call though. I'm guessing that captain wasn't watching his pathway very well. It was no less than a 36 footer running at high speed.

    Nice to see Cranka Crabs doing well on fish over there... They're dynamite on bream in Australia mainly because bream tend to try and rip the claws off crabs first and the way the claws float up looks very natural

    Do you have any trouble setting the hook when you feel the nibble on those cranka lures? I've tried a couple different brands with single hooks. Definitely getting hits but hard to hook up i think due to the hook placement.. It seems like that's where Cranka has a huge advantage with those double hooks.

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The hook set doesn't have to be very hard because the fish generally are getting mouth full of small super sharp hooks. I'm consistently catching fish on these lures with a very positive hook up ratio.

Most comments where people mention their channels directly or in an indirect way end up in the spam section to be reviewed. Keep uploading quality content and on a regular basis and your channel will grow rapidly. TH-cam will automatically try to help out new channels as long as they are uploading on a consistent basis and the response from viewers is good. Hey JC, great vids my friend! You might consider putting some removable pontoons on your yak for when your in the pass and it's a little precarious with boat traffic. I had some on a 13' canoe that was prone to flipping even in calm water, solved my problem.
