H and H from Louisiana makes a double rig with 2 of those small hair jigs they call a "speck rig" thats been around since the 70s or earlier. Its just deadly as today as it was when it came out. Under a popping cork or just a jerky retrieve and its not uncommon to catch 2 at a time.
There’s a guy on Lynne haven that used to make these. I think it was called Roy’s speck rig. He has made them since the 80/. But retired a few years ago and retired from being a captain He was is a very nice man.
Any suggestions for kayack fishing the bay? Is there certain spots you have to go to catch or any where is good if there is fish and jsut go along the docks
Right now your best bets are dawn, dusk and nighttime. In early morning you can target grass flats that are right next to deeper water and the same in the evening. Docks with lights are a great place to target at night. I hope that helps a little. Don’t worry fall is right around the corner and fishing will get a lot easier!
@@WoodsmanSkills you can pick up a popping cork at most any bait and tackle. The little bucktails also at most any bait and tackle. Then just use your favorite line to tie the buck tail 1 to 2 ft below the popping cork and then tie the popping cork onto your main line.
Well, with a buck tail jig and popping cork. You are in essence fly fishing, with a spinning rod. It works great. Try tipping the jig with a fish gum / fish bites. To add some shrimp scent, to the fly.
Really great videos! Can’t wait to see your channel take off
Thanks man!

That’s cool, that might be the same guy that sells them to the tackle shop.
More great content. Keep it comin.
Can't wait for you to start puttin out videos from the piers.
Thanks Jerry.
Neat rig, haven't tried a bucktail with a cork. Something new to try, thanx!
In the big bend of Florida we put all kinds of lures under a popping cork especially when the fishing is slow
That will be your problem with the micro or the crappie jigs. You get one big fish on the hook or 2 to 3 little
Just need a jig with a 2x hook. That’ll solve that problem.
I’ve had terrible luck with popping cork. Time to dust em off again.
Nice video man as always great job men
Thank you.
On buck tail jig is what it looks like what oz are they thanks
Believe that’s 1/16th or 1/32nd
Seems small in description. They list them by 1oz 1/2oz 1/4 oz
@@MrMechanicandy that’s way to big. They will sink too fast and you won’t get the same action.
Nice video and trout!!
Thanks Pablo
Good stuff!! Happen to see any photoshoots back in the canals? 🤣🤣
Not this time bud! But I’m always lookin!!!

Right now after all that rain it will be to muddy and low salinity.
All depends on the time of year you are talking about.
@@TheLawlessTide yea. i have a pedal kayak and want to go out soon just don't know what spots to go to and what to use any tips?

I was running out of tackle to buy until now. Micro Jig.
It’s works! I’ve used it a couple times since I filmed this episode and caught trout every time.
@@TheLawlessTide did you say bay bait and tackle on 331?

You don't seem to be popping that cork very much?. Are you supposed to? Never used one before
Just enough to try and make it sound like fish feeding.
Like 👍 if you also hate catfish
Lol!

No more slacking gabby!
