This is actually exactly what I was looking for as a retro gaming handheld. 2 Analog sticks and all the trigger bumpers, I play mostly PS1 titles so the addition of all the buttons and sticks really offers me the entire experience. Also I've always liked the vertical gameboy form factor. However, the choice of placing the analogs above the d-pad and right hand buttons is awkward.

All these companies need to do better. Slow down releases, give some thought to the ergonomics and LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY, because generally the community know what they want
I think the redesigns are there mostly because once they sell off a batch they’ll just redesign the next batch rather than just make more of the same thing. The costs probably aren’t much to make a new mould for all the free press they get everyone reviewing these minor updates. Essentially the complaints aren’t that they are bad. It’s more that they aren’t improving fast enough. If all you want to do is play old SNES, GBA or Mega Drive games. And need to replace a hand held you bought 5 years ago. This is it.
They sell at such a low price that they have to release them over and over like this. They can’t afford to spend more time on it unless they charged more. And would you wanna spend like $150 on one of these?
@@sloppynyuszi I think it was Retro Game Corps reviewing the RG353P I heard lamenting that the d-pad and face buttons could have been bigger and didn't understand why Anbernic kept them the same size as on the other devices. It seems obvious to me that they just want to keep using the same molds and design elements for as many parts as possible. They obviously want to maximize profits and crank out new devices as quickly as possible, and redesigning the spacing for the buttons on the boards and shell and making molds for larger buttons would cost more money and delay the product. Chinese manufacturers are becoming more sophisticated and are producing much higher quality products than they used to, but they seem to design products differently than other companies we're more used to.
