    Guys it would be GREAT if you could take a second, during editing, to do a zoom edit on the labels when you introduce each one. It’s super easy and would help the viewer when shopping for these.

    I had the same reaction when I tried these. I would rebuy the SiB all day. $30 for a 1L and it out drinks many higher priced offerings. Personally I would pass on the other 3, but you’re right they are inexpensive and drinkable so not a big investment. Nice video!

    I guys, love your videos. Very nicely done and informative. I have a question. I truly enjoy fine whiskey’s. Unfortunately I had a serious stomach issue. I can still enjoy bourbon but I have to mix it, usually with Coke Zero. Do you have any suggestions for a low priced bourbon or whiskey that would make a great drink. I’m now mainly drinking Makers Mark or Ezra Brooks. Thanks so much and I really do enjoy your videos. You have quite the investment behind your bar. Really cool.

    I have 9 Costcos within 60 minutes of me, including the original in Kirkland, WA. I've tried the first 2 and agree with your assessment. Not super sippers, but they're perfectly fine for most cocktails. Haven't bought the Tennessee, because I thought a Tennessee whiskey couldn't be called a Bourbon? As for the SiB, I have not seen that one show up yet in the store closest to me. And I appreciate that you guys can get these for $20-$30. In WA state, taxes add on another $15+ per bottle.

    Haven't watched the full video yet but we love the Costco collab bottles with Barton (Single Barrel is by far our favorite). It is on the opposite side of the state but the Costco in Evansville has an amazing collection and someone on their team that woks directly with the distillery contacts that the Louisville Costco has. If you are ever in Southern Indiana I would recommend the stop!

    These Barton/Kirkland collabs were super affordable....i only had the Small Batch but it was great, super tasty and very drinkable (only 94pf). I never buy Kirkland brand spirits but the fact that Barton prominently put their name on the bottle next to the Kirkland brand is a huge deal, and was the main reason i bought it knowing Barton makes great stuff.... i hope more quality producers do this in the future, enough hiding ur respectable reputations behind the Kirkland label.

    • @andresbarajas2863
      @andresbarajas2863 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bd-me7yp if you and your blind friends say so.....the whole point of Costco is buying brand names at bulk quantities for a nice price, which is why these Barton exclusives are such a great deal. Only alcoholics buy generic bulk liquor (and mouthwash) at Costco, so unless you want to be mistaken for a college dropout with bad breath BD please step up your game and buy branded liquor, life is too short to be drinking vodka anything or unbranded tequila. FYI you can look up the four digit NOM number on the back of the tequila bottle and find out who actually makes it, which is why i never drink Kirkland tequila.

    My son gave me a bottle of the Kirkland 7 year and we both like it. Unfortunately the nearest WA state Costco is over 100 miles away. Unfortunately with Washington's spirit tax and bottle tax these aren't quite as good of a bargin. Head to the Warrenton liquor state and pickup a liter of Early Times Bottled in Bond instead. they usually have the ET but some times you have to ask because they have it in the back not on the shelf. The Gearhart store doesn't carry ET.

    My Costco rarely has any hard to find American whiskies. I have managed to get their Barton BIB and their single barrel. I liked both, but the single barrel is worth writing home about. It was many many months between seeing the BIB and finding the SiB. I haven't tried the 7yo TN whiskey, but I've liked all of the George Dickel that I've had so far, I've had a few bottles of the 13yo BIB and love it, and I've had a 15yo store pick that I loved too.

    We had the two bottles on left from our Costco and, for the money, excellent value. We also had the 7 yr TN and was one and done with that one.

    Been searching for all of these for a long time. Our Costcos in MI have Kirkland everything but bourbon. Makes no sense to me. They finally just got in the Small Batch and cases of it. Picked one up last night. It was $28. It was OK. 1792 Small Batch is way better. My rumor sources say the BIB will be available in July. I am sure I will get it, but would love to see the 7 year and Single Barrel too.

    Hey guys, enjoy watching and learning from your videos. I have just started getting into this world and love it so far. My question is would y'all be willing to do a short segment on decanters, storage, and general practice on keeping bourbon, also if decanters are even needed or is it really just pleasing to the eye? Is it true that crystal decanters can release some sort of mineral that is harmful..? Thanks again guys for what you do, I am hoping your glass becomes available again soon! Would love to buy a few of them.

    • @duey1083
      @duey1083 ปีที่แล้ว

      Real crystal contains lead in it. The acidity of the alcohols causes the lead to leach out of thr crystal and contaminates the contents.
      I wouldn't recommend using a crystal decanter.

      Make sure your decanter is Lead Free, whisky can draw out the lead over time.

    They had enough sips to forget to say which one they preferred. Nonetheless, overall, they recommended trying any of them. The single barrel they seemed to prefer. For the money, Four Roses probably is just as good or better, imo.

    My Costco has a suggestion book at the front of the store where you can request items they don't carry. Ask someone next time you go. They can order lots of different whiskeys.

    if you ever get a chance try some Dalmore 25. I got lucky and got a dram and it was friggin amazing. I love Elijah Craig. I also was gifted a bottle of Silke. Going in I just couldn't drink irish but for something with a subtle peat and smoke and also irish almost came off like a smokey bourbon.

    Cove’s can also be used in a pinch for tooth aches due to their numbing effects.
    I assume you’re referring to the flavor aspect?

    I'm not much of a drinker, but I have liked a good Scotch and have wanted to branch out. Recently, I went to a cookout and my friend's father made an old fashioned that was amazing. I wanted to learn more about Bourbon and came upon your channel and I've really loved it. I went out today and got Wild Turkey 101, recommended on your cheap starters Bourbon and it's not bad. They had a Wellers, that caught my eye, but the price point, I could not pull the trigger.
    What are your recommendations for best bang for the buck?

    • @slbdrinks
      @slbdrinks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most would say Wild Turkey rare breed but it is 116 proof.
      If you want a nice sweet bourbon for about 50.00 or so Old Forester 1910 is a great choice. 91 proof I believe.
      Lower end maybe give Four Roses small batch a try. Fruity.

    For the cost, Costco delivers. It is my go to for an evening drink. As a Seattlite, I feel compelled to support Costco. Another Seattle distiller of bourbon that I'd like to suggest is Oola Distillery, have you come across this one?

    The best liquor at Kirkland in terms of quality and value is the French Vodka. It's basically grey goose for less than half the cost.
