  • In this video I’m loading a 2000 Honda recon onto the back of my truck using the winch. I sped the video up during winching because it was cold my battery was sluggish(from sitting a week untouched in the cold) and my four wheeler stalled a couple times. This is the first time using this setup with the ramps and 4x4 winch pull bar. The piece of 4x4 did bow a little but held like a champ.the winch on the recon is a harbor freight 2500zxr atv winch. The winch does have a wireless remote but I mounted it to my handle bar for easy access during plowing snow.

    To the people that take the time to comment but not read my responses. I've not actaully used this setup once since this video. Those 2×8 have gone on to other things in their lives. I wanted a way to get it up there if I wanted and never need it. I have access to trails right from my driveway and just never need to load it like that. I knew it looked sketchy hence recording it. Thank you all the for the views on this silly video helping boost views on my other videos.✌🏻

    The Diamondback ramps are well worth the investment. I load 2 KingQuad 750 atvs on mine sideways and I just drive them up and tie them down. Diamondback is awesome!

    Holy dude! Did you see the bow them 2x8’s did? You should T them off with a 2x4 at least 3/4’s of the length. You’re taking a chance every time dude.

      The ramp kit I have recommends Oak or Douglas Fir, but I used the Home Depot Cheapo pressure treated lumber and that is what happens with anything heavy.

    You ought to untangle that winch cord and stand back a little bit every so often while loading that cable cause if for some reason there's a knot you don't know about in that cross board,you're knot gonna want to be standing there when that board comes flying at you around 70 miles an hour if it snaps. Just sayin.

    $50k truck, $5k atv, $2.4k bed cover.....and then you opt use this contraption to wench it up? Why?

    • @bendraggonZ28

      I wouldn’t use the ramps that go with the cover often enough to invest in them. Just wanted a way to get it up there if I ever wanted to.

    A roller , like on a boat trailer might be useful on the rear edge of cover .

    • @bendraggonZ28
      @bendraggonZ28  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t like the winch cable on the corner there either potentially wearing off the cover liner. I haven’t used this setup since that video I just wanted to able to get the atv up there if I ever wanted and made a video of testing it. That is a great idea though if I ever wind up using it more frequently.

    What is wrong with loading it in the truck bed, Instead of on top of it? Granted Newer Full Size pickup truck's are 14% smaller than they use to be prior to 2005. And likely can't fit in the Bed anyway.

    • @bendraggonZ28
      @bendraggonZ28  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Itll fit in the bed. I didn't buy the cover to haul things. Even though it is very capable of doing so I got it more to keep things secure in the bed. I've actually never had the fourwheeler on the cover since this video. I just wanted a set of ramps in case I ever did actually want to get it up there. Even I thought this looked janky as hell so thats why I whipped out the camera lol.

    That's really a stupid way to load and haul an ATV.
    That much money invested in truck and ATV and you trust that nylon winch cable and wood boards? 🙄
    I would either take off the bed cover and load with ramps or trailer the machine.

      Frank - while you may be correct in the way buddy loaded it but you have no idea what you're talking about with regards to the which cable! If it were that weak where loading like this is a risk...just imagine if he really needed to use it in the bush, pulling it out of a mud hole? Give head a shake.

      @@irishkelly654 I'm sorry, but I do know about nylon winch cable for ATVs because I have a nylon winch cable on my 700 grizzly. I also know that they are strong, but only for safe use, not for performing a crazy thing like that.
