He has a summer home near me - totally gracious, unpretentious man. Gave me a free lesson on some jazz chording in his home. I was so starstruck I could barely move my fingers...He regularly sits in with the local house band and he seriously cranks it out.
This guy is a family friend of mine, shocked when he came into my band practiced and showed us this! I couldn’t stop laughing, shocked, told us the Marvin Gaye story and tells us the MJ story and I was just amazed at this guy
This man... this legend... played on all those hit recordings way back when, and yet look how good he still looks and sounds. Even his voice still sounds smooth and youthful. And what a quick mind he has. My mind doesn't work that fast even on a good day 😆. I want to be like Don Peake! I really enjoyed this video.
There is a college education's worth of Rock and Roll History standing right there. Can't wait for the podcast. Why wouldn't they stream the show on Sunday!? I'd pay to watch a live stream!
Having listened to a lot of the music that Mr. Peake either created or had a hand in, I will be eagerly awaiting the podcast to hear about this man's extraordinary life!!🎸🎶
It's so nice when someone educate you on something you've lived all your life and that's music.i can't get enough.thats WILD,I never would have guessed it was him on "LET'S GET IT ON" and all of the early J-5 records may GOD continue to bless him
Hi Norm, love all of your stuff especially GoTD. (Give that team a raise!). I'm from England and visited Gruhn's and Carter's in Nashville this year. My mission is to come and see you guys in LA before too much more time passes. Best wishes to you all.

Don. ThankYou for the clarification. I enjoy both you and Wah Wah. I saw Lou Rawls years back w David T and what a show that was. Lou was a master of the stage. Keep on rockin Don. All the best. TN.

The documentary, ‘The Wrecking Crew,’ is a must see. These guys and gals made most all the famous riffs and songs back then.

Carole Kay created the bass line for The beat goes on by Sonny and Cher , the documentary about the Wrecking Crew is fantastic .
I saw that, and I also remember a scene with her re a famous base part on a Glenn song. It wasn't this one?

Hey Don, Thanx for all your music! But didn’t Wah Wah Watson cut the intro to let’s get it on?
Hey Thomas,

BUT
I was the one who made up that opening lick for Marvin. Rene' Hall was the arranger.
If you listen closely, about 8 seconds in, I make a huge mistake and hit my open "G" string!

1973. We recorded 3 songs......
Motown finally corrected the Credits about 10 years ago.
