It’s a wonderful video! The music does sort off detracts, super effort. Great job the crew did, every time I passed the Lanc I would stop and look with wonder and think how brave the guys were who flew them over Germany.
Whilst yes I knew that the Lancaster like many other large aircraft were built in sections. It is still interesting to see one being dismantled into the various sections/parts.
If she had been out side in the UK that long there would be little left of her to move, thank goodness Canadian kids still have respect for there history and whats in there community sadly lacking this side of the pond.
The undisputed Queen of the four engine heavy bomb trucks. And to think that more effort in the past 4 yrs has been put forth into getting the deHavilland Mosquito's ( currently three are airworthy ) with one presently under construction, and another on order and being done in Ardmore, N.Z. Recent news from across the "pond" indicates that some 20k factory drawings of the " Mossie" were discovered in an old brick building that was due for demolition. What a stroke of good fortune ! Hopefully, this Lanc will see the wild blue yonder where she belongs, proper.
Hi Laurence McMillan It's all good. It takes a rather large chunck of dosh and time to get this grand old Dame to airworthy. Static is fine, as she will still be a sight to see. Cheers.
Ahhhh.....leave it to the Air Force folks to perform “surgery” on a dying “bird” with a handful of tools, a giraffe and a bunch of forklifts in an outdoor operating room.Highly successful operation I’d say. I can’t wait to see her back together and back to “life” in Trenton in the near future. Kudos. Did you get support from 3CMBG and 403? Thanks for the video and the credits.Have you any plans for a “time-lapse” style re-assembly video. Jeez, I’m nosy. Thanks...Mac (By the way, the operating room music was terrific).
@@mcmillannfamily Okay....I was just wondering. With the Covid restrictions there’s a possibility that almost everything has been put on the back burner.
I just watched a CBC News video from 2015 (⬇️) and the reporter stated that the Lancaster was going to a museum in Edmonton, Alberta. Did it go to Alta or Trenton, Ontario?
Thanks for your response. It would be great to see it fly again but I’m quite aware of how costly that is. It will be nice to see her restored and inside away from the weather.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
There's one of these magnificent planes in the most museum in Auckland NZ. Why it's in the motat museum instead of the royal NZ airforce museum in Christchurch is the question it was donated to the r nzaf air crew as a thank you from the French government and there four should be in the r nzaf museum on Christchurch
NZ one is the last built and never saw action. they cut the main strut so it can't fly again without loads of cash. real shame really. love to go see it one day.if I won lotto I'd get her going .
Instead of a backing of completely unrelated "music" What not have a spoken commentary about the Who, the What and the Where of this aircraft? As it is the entire clip is one long guessing game.
I absolutely HATE these videos with nobody explaining what is going on. If you are too lazy to add any explanation do not bother making the videos at all. Needless to say, as soon as I realised there was no commentary I stopped watching and if I see anything else by you I will skip right past it.
Thanks for commenting. I could care less of anyone Hayes how the video was done. It was done because I felt it was with sharing to everyone who see it. Do you really need a commentary. It's self explanatory, an aircraft was being disassembled.

A real diamond in the rough.

Agreed. We have to take care of our history. Taking this beauty apart and bringing home was amazing.
Bet you wouldn’t say that to any British persons face.
@@futeditz1902 Maybe not in some of the pubs I know to be fair
@@futeditz1902 I don't think 🤔 saying it to someone's faces is the issue.... I think its the aftermath that follows is the issue 😕

It will not fly again but will be restored to her post war configuration and stored indoors.

@@mcmillannfamily Does it mean they gonna repaint her differently :O or will she stay mostly as she was before?
@@datonecommieirongear2020 I believe it will remain with this paint scheme.

No support. Was all done from Trenton. I do not have any info or video on the current progress of the restoration.

It is currently being restored in Trenton where it will remain.
@@mcmillannfamily Thanks for the update...Mac
Is this going to be restored to airworthy condition or static display?🤔
It will be restored but will not fly. It will be housed inside a bran new museum.

Why must crap music always be added to these videos?
Because I felt like it. Don't like it don't fucking comment.
Temper, temper....
Actually I could do without the music , it detracts from a wonderful video. Great video!
