It’s a wonderful video! The music does sort off detracts, super effort. Great job the crew did, every time I passed the Lanc I would stop and look with wonder and think how brave the guys were who flew them over Germany.

I absolutely HATE these videos with nobody explaining what is going on. If you are too lazy to add any explanation do not bother making the videos at all. Needless to say, as soon as I realised there was no commentary I stopped watching and if I see anything else by you I will skip right past it.

Thanks for commenting. I could care less of anyone Hayes how the video was done. It was done because I felt it was with sharing to everyone who see it. Do you really need a commentary. It's self explanatory, an aircraft was being disassembled.

I just watched a CBC News video from 2015 (⬇️) and the reporter stated that the Lancaster was going to a museum in Edmonton, Alberta. Did it go to Alta or Trenton, Ontario?

    • @mcmillannfamily

It is currently being restored in Trenton where it will remain.

Ahhhh.....leave it to the Air Force folks to perform “surgery” on a dying “bird” with a handful of tools, a giraffe and a bunch of forklifts in an outdoor operating room.Highly successful operation I’d say. I can’t wait to see her back together and back to “life” in Trenton in the near future. Kudos. Did you get support from 3CMBG and 403? Thanks for the video and the credits.Have you any plans for a “time-lapse” style re-assembly video. Jeez, I’m nosy. Thanks...Mac (By the way, the operating room music was terrific).

No support. Was all done from Trenton. I do not have any info or video on the current progress of the restoration.

Whilst yes I knew that the Lancaster like many other large aircraft were built in sections. It is still interesting to see one being dismantled into the various sections/parts.

It will be restored but will not fly. It will be housed inside a bran new museum.

Thanks for your response. It would be great to see it fly again but I’m quite aware of how costly that is. It will be nice to see her restored and inside away from the weather.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Instead of a backing of completely unrelated "music" What not have a spoken commentary about the Who, the What and the Where of this aircraft? As it is the entire clip is one long guessing game.

There's one of these magnificent planes in the most museum in Auckland NZ. Why it's in the motat museum instead of the royal NZ airforce museum in Christchurch is the question it was donated to the r nzaf air crew as a thank you from the French government and there four should be in the r nzaf museum on Christchurch

The undisputed Queen of the four engine heavy bomb trucks. And to think that more effort in the past 4 yrs has been put forth into getting the deHavilland Mosquito's ( currently three are airworthy ) with one presently under construction, and another on order and being done in Ardmore, N.Z. Recent news from across the "pond" indicates that some 20k factory drawings of the " Mossie" were discovered in an old brick building that was due for demolition. What a stroke of good fortune ! Hopefully, this Lanc will see the wild blue yonder where she belongs, proper.
