How did Westerners become so different than our African ancestors? So many questions race through my mind. Which culture is more fulfilled? Is progress necessarily a better outcome for our species? Which culture has a healthier social network?
Great questions. Industrialisation has brought (most of) us out of poverty... but into terrible inequality. Maybe this is the root of the matter. (oh, and into total planetary ecological disaster if we don't get our act together fast).
we are not different all humans started at the same place and we are all going to the same place this is of course technologically and even socially the reason we all meet and exchange ideas comes down largely to me anyway to geographical determinism some developments need certain materials ie gold/electronics and some places dont have some materials we need to look at ourselves at a larger scale than our years the last 200, 000 years in particular also the further from the equator you go the more need for technology im irsh and at some point going back we lived the same way migration to a temperate place drove our development so basically take time out of it and everyones exactly the same
...what an amazing structure, so intuitive and simple, relying on nature to create the joinery...love the slow mellow pace of the build, we can learn a lot from that, letting each piece fall into place before adding the next...🧡
Three hours ago I was watching the beavers that live 300' behind my house working on their lodge, carefully placing interlocking sticks to build their home.
I came back to this video to show it to classmates and saw that it now has sound again, excellent. Rewatched the video, very captivating how a home is puzzled together, the true definition of working with what you have. Warm greetings from the Netherlands🇳🇱.
Great ethnographic video. Thank you. These houses are sturdy, and selfsupporting, and can be erected any place and give the women all space needed for serving their husband and children. The tribes live with what the earth gives, total harmony. No need for a supermarket, telephone or tv...As well as all men and women share the work , the socially support guarantees security and sharing is joy.
Impressive. It really makes you wonder how far back buildings like this go? Buildings like this could be some of the earliest ever made, even crazier to think about is that our species wasn't the first humans to create such structures.
millones de gracias x mostrarnos cuan lejos de la madre naturaleza estamos. vuestro trabajo es estupendo y mis respetos mas sinceros p ese gente q realiza 1 trabajo en comun p bien de todos!!
@nomad architecture thanks so much for your fantastic uploads. The house they built looks sturdy and long lasting does it mean they don’t move too often ?
This channel is very interesting, I'm also very interested in how primitive tribes prepare and cook their food. Someone can suggest me a good channel on this topic?. Thanks.
We are starting to film this more when we are with them. Got some nice footage of a goat roast. The problem is always finding the time to edit it all on zero budget!
@NomadArchitecture is the platform inside the hut a place for the residents to sleep? Looking at the finished hut, the ground area seems a place to cook or "do things", and since the ground and walls are covered also in containers, the platform doesn't seem like it is used for storage. Therefore I assumed that it is for sleeping above ground, as a means to avoid insects and other critters that may pass through the openings during nighttime, but I might be wrong.
As someone who grew up in a very rainy climate, it was hard for me to grasp this as a "house" at first. I'd like to see and learn more about how people live in one of these. What happens at floor level? What happens on the platform?
Amazing, as are all your videos. Both men and women have very intricate hairdos. And the women’s “dresses” have a long tail (sort of), is that because it’s an animal skin? Is this house part of a group of houses? How many people live in it, just 1 family? No, I don’t know the answer to your question.
Just one family. It is one of three types they build, this is a remote field shelter but there are also village houses too. Just trying to get the video of these through YT censorship!!!
Am doing this so people in the world can see how people need help every one who can aford to do it give the some help send it to the are bring it some way some how do some ting thank u
I'm curious about why the apex needed to be reinforced, architecturally/structurally speaking. I'm guessing the thick walls are to keep predators out, correct?
I dont think it was reinforced so much as a way of hanging lots of odd branches together. And yes, predators, wind too as it can get pretty unpleasant with the heat and wind.
The thing I don't understand is why, if we are all made in the image of God, we have to hide ourselves. Doesn't this lead to more objectification? Anyway, don't get me started!!!
Indeed. There are some videos we cannot get past the censorship at all. Looks like we will have to put up a short and a link to a separate file or something.
Thank you for the video! Also, can we please not feed the puritan mental illness with the blurring? People offended need psychotherapy, not validation.

Nomad Architecture. You do such an excellent job. It's always so interesting and so beautiful.
Thank you, nice comments make it so much more worthwhile.

Even they have a very minimum material, they didn't cut the whole tree, instead, they cut several branches to keep the tree to grow back
Likely the oldest sustainability practice: not yet or rarely practiced by modern society
That's better, sound is half of the enjoyment.
Soorreeee!
Thnx for the re-upload with sound
Fascinating, thank you 💜💜💜
That’s amazing ❤
Some of those poles are straighter than the 2x4s at Home Depot.

Absolutely fascinating. Humans are so clever.
A amazing structure constructed from available materials and serving the purposes of a safe and secure dwelling.

For some strange reason when I saw the view from overhead I saw our distant ice relatives building a very similar structure from mammoth tusks.

If y noticed they are pilng at apex rather they are interlocking to reinforce the structure
