Thanks! It was really helpful. The worst part is getting the backplate off honestly. Always have to be careful when dealing with plastic. I just had to replace the charging port board due to it having intermittent connection (Goes from turbo charging, to charging, to slow unless you applied force in the right angle. I used an app called Ampere to measure it's charging performance before and after.) Which was pretty basic. While you can replace it without unhooking the battery, I did so anyways out of caution and experience as I will have to replace that eventually. Didn't have to do anything but that to replace it. The 2023 model has less Ram than this one so definitely would have been a downgrade from what I had. A general suggestion, use a screwdriver with a magnetic tip when dealing with small screws like this.
Thanks! glad it was helpful. Incase you ever need other parts in the future, check mobilesentrix.com they usually have original parts and ones which sometimes aren't available on eBay or Amazon.
@@PBKreviews Oh that looks good. They look to have an entire LCD assembly with the frame which is a time saver and OEM batteries too. Stuff for game consoles too. Shame that only goes back so far though.
I'm about to make a video in a couple days please sub and you will get notified when I post it this dude did a whole bunch of extra shit u don't have to do
I did a screen replacement on one of these. Everything seems to be doing great, except the fingerprint scanner no longer works. The option to set it up isn't even showing up in settings.
Man my phone fell like 1ft onto concrete and shattered I shouldve got a case. At least this repair is pretty easy and cheap. Great video thanks for the tutorial!
4:09 so the reason I'm here is I'm intending to replace the microphone in my device. Is it possible to purchase the individual component or is it only sold as a package as shown in those assembly boards? I'm also considering replacing the battery while I'm in there but is there any other common failures that are cheap and worth replacing? I'm experienced in smd soldering and using lithium based batteries for different projects of mine (making bms, nickel strip welding, ect). I'm just curious if anyone specifically sells that individual microphone or if it's a whole assembly only.
I usually don't see individual mics being sold as replacement parts, just the sub board/charger port board which has the mic on it. No other parts I can think of that would really need replacing. Right now the website is down for maintenance, but you can check www.mobilesentrix.com for replacement parts for this phone.
Not sure, you can try one from a different phone (possibly this, not sure if this would be it though: www.mobilesentrix.com/heat-shield-adhesive-tape-for-samsung-galaxy-s10-plus-10-pack), but I am not able to find it available online for the G50
For the frame, I believe it would be a plastic border over a aluminum alloy mid frame and mmWave antenna would depend on which region the device was for.
Unlike on Samsung phones where the mmWave antenna is mounted in the frame, on most Motorolas the mmWave antenna is mounted right on the main board as you can see at 2:45 on the lower right, looks like a gold colored rectangle by his finger.
On most Motorolas the mmWave antenna is mounted right on the main board as you can see at 2:50 on the lower right, looks like a gold colored rectangle by his finger. No dummy parts at all.
when you add the isopropyl alcohol, use your plastic pick or tool to try and gently lift one side of the battery and hold the phone at an angle to let the alcohol get under the battery. You can add more as needed but doing too much can lead to it getting behind the screen and leaving water marks.
I like the video overall but don't like that you didn't show the part where you applied the adhesive when putting it back together. That's the part that scares me the most because if it's not done properly the phone isn't really fixed and I now have another problem 😅
Thanks. You can either watch this video I did : th-cam.com/video/T4iiPUIM7-Y/w-d-xo.html or this one: th-cam.com/video/ozzJkNA7t0I/w-d-xo.html which will show you more in detail how to do that.
Yup, totally unnecessary. Never understood why on some models they will do that but on similar models they will put the screw in a visible section. Just to annoy people and make it harder to take it apart.
I miss when the back of your phone just popped off and you could reset your frozen phone by popping your battery out and back in
👍

i wish you could have shown the removal of the screen. this model has 0 tutorial videos for lcd replacement
Did you ever find a video on it?

I need also. It's critical. This sucks
Did y'all find a video?
Did anyone find a tutorial? I can't find any tutorials for this model Stylus, it's insane.
Any one else came here to see if they could replace a broken screen themselves? saw all this n thought nevermind
Thanks for the comment🙏 I don't have to watch the whole thing

do we happen to know the EDL test point location on this device? Mine is bricked and badly need the test points to recover it
You told me a lot on this video. Ive been looking for explanation on certain questions and thank you !
You're welcome 😃

👍 thanks and you're welcome
Jeez buddy, mine had a case, it fell about 2 feet, and struck a lousy drill bit perfectly lol, what a mess.
I never knew graphite was a good conductor of heat. Honestly, I always figured it had a high specific heat rather than low. Interesting.
👍
Excellent tutorial, sir👍👍. It took me about an hour longer than the 6 minute video, but all went well thanks to you!
Thanks, glad it was helpful :)
Is the moto g 5g and the g stylus 5g 2022 the same as far as screen replacement?
Which toolset did you use in this teardown?

Hi :) . Quick question. Does motorola edge s have an aluminum frame and mmantenna wave? thanks
For the frame, I believe it would be a plastic border over a aluminum alloy mid frame and mmWave antenna would depend on which region the device was for.

@@BillAnt thanks for the added thoughts :)
What's the average price for someone to do the labor for this, when you've already purchased the LCD screen?
By any chance, does anyone here know where the edl points are for this phone? I may or may not have a locked bootloader and no OS.
My rear camera is not working
Can you please tell the reason
I tried everything but still it says that camera is busy
If you tried factory reset, and replacing the camera, then it might be a defective component on the board itself. Not sure.
Anyone have problem with phone not holding a charge?
Where the 5G antenna? On Ifixit, it shows just above the ultrawide lens where that rectangular piece is. Edit: I can see these are dummy parts.

hey can you do the black shark 5 pro?
As always your wark is. Good and funny keep up the good wark
Thanks! :)
You have forgot to show closeup shot of the Processor-Storage.
Nice to see Micron storage paired with SM 6375 AB
I was hoping for that too.
Neat, Thanks!
That vibration motor is ANCIENT
That's what I was thinking when I broke my phone and almost destroyed it by using a screwdriver to open it up new aswell
G50
I can't get my battery out because it's so over glued and isopropyl alcohol isn't doing squat.
when you add the isopropyl alcohol, use your plastic pick or tool to try and gently lift one side of the battery and hold the phone at an angle to let the alcohol get under the battery. You can add more as needed but doing too much can lead to it getting behind the screen and leaving water marks.

3:45 that tiny vibrator is funny man. It's comically small and I get why but I'm not used to seeing such a small electric motor.
lol yup
Awesome!

Wtf are you talking about dude this is literally a teardown.
Dumb design putting a screw under the camera lens bezel... smh.

@@PBKreviews- Been fixing phones at my shop since 1999, and this was the first one that got me puzzled, till I checked out your video. lol Thanks! :)
Hey use isopropyl is a risk not worth taking.
I never use alcohol just heat. Alcohol can seep in some parts and can ruin it, not worth the risk.
thankyou

Same Machine Gun Mouth as the Moto 5G video is this video done by a pre programed robot
Imagine the comments though
I like your video very much, I hope you can update the Moto Moola video and model in time
