10th Doctor Inspired Metal Sonic Screwdriver Construction

I am in the process of constructing a metal sonic screwdriver with an influence from the 10th Doctor's version. The screwdriver may seem slightly crooked, and there are pieces that are loose. It is because I have not yet fused the pieces together. You will also notice the tip light is not lit yet, it will be eventually. I also have the transparent portion lit up, I think it will look cool, even though the Doctor's never really did. And yup, the top portion slides. I am also adding features that may be fun to mess with, such as a high powered magnet, etc, hehe...
It isn't exactly like the 10th Doctor's, which I originally wanted it to be, but quickly realized it was going to be a big pain in the arse.
Sorry for the darkness, I don't want to reveal its detail until I am finished!
So far, I have only spent about $15 at a hardware store, not bad. I'm guessing the final product will be around $30 and hours of fun, ;)
