This performance was total perfection. When you sound as good live as your records then you truly have the art of live shows mastered to perfection. That exacty what Benny and Bjorn always strived for. If it wasn't great, they wouldn't do it. And obviously they were always great. Anna forever.❤
Thanks so much for this. You made my day. I actually got a little teary-eyed watching this. ABBA = pure joy. Not only are their songs outstanding, they always remained humble and gracious as human beings and that makes them eternally loved.
I love all of ABBA's songs. This one is spectacular. I also know that some people may not like tribute bands, but Bjorn Again. from 1998 at The Albert Hall UK, did a great ABBA concert, including Super Trouper. Well worth a watch. (SOS is superb)
I thought you have forgotten Abba but I was wrong here you are again. I loveeeee your Abba reactions as they are the best in the world. I suggested to you to react to " I let the music speak" sung entirely by your favorite Frida. I'm sure you can't catch up with every suggestion but trust me you will be blown away by that song. So, when you have the chance please react to it. I want to see your reaction. Thanks for bringing Abba again!
An emotional song written with feeling, it came to Björn as he waved his daughter off to school for the first time. I've often wondered since if Frida can bear hearing it, after losing her daughter so tragically, it must be so hard for her. 😢
The concert from Wembley in 79 is also on youtube. Well, the 40-45 minutes of it that was filmed, I have absolutely no idea why the whole thing wasn't filmed but it's an amazing concert. The stuff from Australia is also good, their performance of Dancing Queen down under is amazing.
I’ll tell you a funny story. When this first came on tv here, I was in hospital having my wisdom teeth out. A very strict, traditional Indian family were in the next room, and when “Slipping Through My Fingers” first started, there were all these puzzled noises at Agnetha singing “the feeling that I’m losing her forever”, etc, until she sang “that funny little girl” and, as one, ten people got that it was about her daughter and went “Ohhhhhhhhh”. Lol. My mother looked at me and cracked up. Then she and I cried at the song! It gets to me now as well. Such a beautiful song and they are angels.
That live version of "Super Trouper" will always be a thing of beauty to me. Also "Me and I" is so close to the recording it's not even funny! You should listen to them both back to back .
Sod the weekend, I've watched it tonight, couldn't wait! 😂 I discovered this concert during lockdown and have watched it so many times since, it was a true god send. Although I have the version with the interview with Dick Cavett at the beginning, and it properly ending with On & On & On (I was as surprised as you were when that came on in the middle!) The version you watched does have variable audio quality although you can appreciate they really could cut it live. Special mention to their band and continuous musicians: Ola Brunkert on drums (love the look on his face when he's doing Me & I); Roger Palm, secondary drums and xylophone on Knowing Me Knowing You; the fabulous guitarists Mats Ronander and Lasse Wellander (the latter of whom had his legs stroked by the girls in THAT video!); and Rutger Gunarsson on bass, hiding at the back. I noticed at the end your recommendation was for the Olivia segment with Andy Gibb and ABBA - now *that* is worth a watch, a true depiction of 1978 if ever there was one 😎
Great reaction video, I love your enthusiasm and the respect you show to the whole group, whilst still declaring your love for Frida. Also, I am impressed you knew the words to Two For The Price of One 👍 thank you xx
Thanks so much for reacting to this whole fantastic performance ! .. It's top quality from start to finish, and I love how really close up we see everyone on stage .. A great mix of their big hits and lesser known ( but wonderful ) songs such as "Me And I" .. "Two For The Price Of One" is also much more entertaining when done live like this .. Great reaction, bro .. Enjoyed it a lot !
This was the first time I was watching the concert- and it was so great to see it with you😂. You really enjoyed the performance, the voices, the music. Loved it! And what great voices they have, it's incredible how the live oerformance is just as good as the records are, but still manage to surprise you.
I've watched all your ABBA reactions, and love the way you're truly into them. And your total obsession with Frida is fun to watch. I've noticed you're starting to have to rely on ones where it's just the song, but no video. But I might suggest hitting "My Love, My Life". Agnetha has the whole thing to herself, but I know you appreciate her, too. Go with the one from the ABBA DABBA DOO TV special. I look forward to seeing that. Keep up the ABBA love.
@darrick38 - one of my favourite Agnetha lead songs, but: both ladies sing on My Love, My Life so surely the best version would be from ABBA in Poland as it features both of them, rather than the Abbadabbadoo version that solely features Agnetha? Both versions are mimed so not sure why you would recommend one that incorrectly doesn’t feature Frida considering her vocals are harmonising with Agnetha
@@lauriechalker3458 yes, I have noticed that too. Some Agnetha fans don't seem to like to give Frida credit for anything and I really dislike that, in fact they go out of their way to put her down thinking that it makes Agnetha look "better" (in their minds) but they don't realise that Agnetha would hate them for doing that.
Hi, so finally you have reached talent. A World Wide phenomenom, through the 70, 80,and 90's hit after hit, probably one of the best groups in their day. Listen to more of their songs there are many. I think you will agree, they were and are, something very special
That song the Frida sang after Agnetha's Slipping Through My Fingers is called Me and I of the SuperTrouper album. It's one of my favorites off that album. You should check it out!!!

Still love them, I'm a classic rock but I will always love a few from the 70's and 80's. My high school friend and I would sing ABBA after school in the living room, my mom had a stereo with a microphone. Good times 🩵🖤
Me And I is not the only Frida lead that you haven't done yet. 😉 From the first album to the last there are also 'Me And Bobby And Bobby's Brother', 'Gonna Sing You My Lovesong', I Have A Dream (you only did the Spanish version of this one), 'I Let The Music Speak', 'Like An Angel Passing Through My Room', 'Should I Laugh Or Cry', 'Bumblebee' and 'No Doubt About It'.
A stunning live performance, especially when you consider that Agnetha had the flu when ABBA spent 3 days working on the TV Studio performing & recording this Live TV Special…
The song you thought you didn’t recognise is called ‘Me And I’. I don’t think you’ve reacted to it before. There’s no other video to this song though. Only audio.

I used to work with lighting. That and LED screens have to be the biggest difference between then and now when it comes to concerts. On the one hand, moving led lights give an artificial impression, on the other hand, everything was in red with a lot of shadows in the "wrong" places here. If it's not happening already, I think the old halogen lights will have a comeback. Assuming they are still on the market.
Allthough ABBA does their best here - itś obvious that The Romantic Saga is over by 1981... The girls stand almost as if nailed to the floor and there is no other Movement over the stage either - not like during their Australian tours 1976-77. Itś so sad, and also very admirable that despite their Split Ups the couples are fighting as hard as they can to Honour "Their Baby" -The Music Itself. And now 40 Years later, we Know that their Music Didn't Die and that it probably will Live On Forever.
Agree. All fun and spirit are gone in this show. One can almost feel the tension between Frida and Benny here😢Nevertheless, they sound fab live, and Frida forever my star❤
Yes, it does look static here and there. But one has to keep in mind that this was a live performance in a TV studio in front of a small, reserved Swedish audience. It can't be compared to the setting of the Australian concerts, performed in front of a boiling crowd of tens of thousands of fans, at the height of ABBAmania. This TV special was taped only about two or three months after Benny & Frida had announced their divorce. The Dick Cavett interview was very awkward and painful as well, with half-hearted jokes that didn't come off. Frida hardly said anything at all. Recording this TV special in Sweden was about the only promotion they did in 1981. When The Visitors was released at the end of the year they just sent out the promo videos but didn't perform any of the songs anywhere. It was clear they all needed a break from ABBA.
Well, ABBA did many TV recordings in studios smaller than this, and still moved around much more than on this event. So I think You're missing the point, they were exhausted and the Saga was over here. By the way I'm Swedish and saw ABBA live as early as 1975. and I worked as a photographer in both swedish TV and Radio studios. @@Emmenem68
@@jossieassie4682well it must've been so hard for Frida, especially having to sing "Knowing Me, Knowing You " as they'd only announced their split a month or so before this! It must have taken every last bit of her courage to hold it together to perform with him knowing he had someone else watching him. All those little smiles and interactions we used to see between them on stage were gone, so sad! 😢
Although you got to see a taped live performance, you have GOT to travel to London to see them in ABBA Voyage. This is your chance to see them live in concert!
That was kind of mess up that Dick Cavett talked over their singing near the end. Probably because his show was about over. I've loved ABBA music since I was a teen in the 70s.
It is kind of necessary to know what a Super Trouper is, those lyrics don’t make a whole lot of sense without it. To me it always sounded like a corny song title - until I learnt what it is.
