    If you're low on health and are not in combat, you can consume Tainted Tar which will knock you out of your shell without taking away your last chance. Once you crawl back inside your shell, you'll be back to full health. Tainted Tar can be farmed from the demons that occupy Fallgrim when the fog sets in.

    Here's some amazing tips:
    -When you learn to parry you'll become 5 times stronger than without parrying.
    -Soloman is the best for parrying, mostly because he has a lot of resolve compared to the other characters and he is the strongest most balanced character.
    He has maximum amount of resolve, has a good amount of health and stamina. I recommend him and the hammer and chisel for really fast and strong attacks and when you combine harden and parry you'll be invincible with him.
    -Having one of the R1 and L1 attacks with the hammer and chisel will get you insane amount of Damage because you can spam your attacks and before an enemy or boss attacks you harden and proceed to finish all of your stamina and before they hit you again you hit them with R1 and L1 attack which will turn you invincible and will give you insane damage. I've reached 600-700 damage just through that small tactic which easily destroys bosses.
    I recommend the first hammer and chisel R1 L1 attack (Blade Tornado) because the other one is for long distance.
    -Do not rush and study the movements and the attacks of the characters by dodging or hardening when they are attacking. This way it will be easier to learn when to parry.
    -Knowing the locations of all of the mushrooms in the main map ( area where you do not have to enter through a door that puts you in a loading screen) will make farming a lot easier and less of a waste of time to wait 5+ min for it to regenerate.
    -Watch youtube videos on the combos of your preferred weapon because you'll be able to do a lot more damage.
    -Even if Hammer and Chisel is a close range weapon you can still damage multiple enemies if they are bunch together, add a little fast attack and you're a killing machine.
    -Before picking one of the 3 sacred glands make sure to have a lot of healing mushrooms because those extra enemies will be troublesome if you run out of heals.
    -You can always avoid enemies because they won't be able to catch you and damage you if you run and dodge.
    -Become familiar with all 4 shells before spending glimpses to upgrade them
    -Glimpses do not transfer between shells. So play with the one that suits you the most
    -Use heavy attacks when starting a fight cause those enemies that are chilling on the ground will take some time to stand up and attack you. Preferably heavy, light light.
    -Using parry and attack is recommended to get easy health against easy enemies

    Something to be aware of is there are a lot of missables in the dungeons. After claiming the gland of each dungeon, they change permanently to the mist version which has a different layout and will lock you out of weapon upgrades until you revisit them in NG+.

    • @Jonathan0rtiz
      @Jonathan0rtiz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are no missable items for upgrading (materials) you can as well just call the mist with the npc that comes after you defeat a first major boss.

    Mortal Shell is without a doubt the best Soul's Like game to date in the 3d realm (in my opinion). In the 2d realm Salt & Sanctuary, Blasphemous and Death's Gambit are the best in that respect. Finally a Soul's like that has me thinking all day about it at work excited to get home and play it. Im still confused about the layout of the game but im starting to piece it together in my mind the more I backtrack and explore. Got all 4 shells and 2 weapons so far but haven't gone to the main areas yet except for entrances. I want to do a complete walkthrough series of this game so im really trying to find everything and figure out optimal routes and efficiency for when I do that so im constantly jotting notes and stuff. Quite shocked by the fact that you said that Eredrim is not a lategame shell. He is actually by far the most powerful shell in the game; despite his low stamina pool, the skills he can unlock are the real deal. You can: 1- Stack damage for every enemy you kill without any cap; 2- Stagger enemies easier; 3- Increase dmg on 1-on-1s. The bigger health pool is massive for the first point, as it makes stacking damage easier as you don't risk much in terms of dying. The fact that the stacks are lost exclusively "detaching from the shell" also allows you to die from falling into the void and still retain all your damage stacks, as well as return to the Sester whenever you want to replenish your HP without ever losing stacks, easily allowing you to cheese your way through the first stage of the game and pile up stacks. Since damage stacks are also absolute numbers and not percentage based, they're insane with the Hammer and Chisel, allowing you to use the lowest Stamina Cost weapon in the game in the endgame dealing more than 70+ damage per hit. I've literally run through the final stage of the game one-shotting every mob and face-tanking the boss using exclusively the Hammer and Chisel with 700+ stacks.

  • @ayayron8221
    @ayayron8221 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Tiel is honestly the best, sure you can get killed in like 2 hits or smth but 1 healing item's full tick can replenish half your health bar and visually it's very comforting lmao. And that stamina is just so fuckin nasty. Combine that with the Martyr Sword, which is basically DS1 Zweihander and you got yourself a mini-Giantdad build.

Now i am fairly recently started, trying to learn the different moves and timeing. I gotta say i think the "Solomon, The Scholar" is by far the best choice for a new player to this game. He got Good HP, Decent Stamina and a best Resolve. Haveing played Harros, Eredrim and Solomon abit while trying to learn the game it feels like Solomon generates resolve more then the others. • @kinorris1709
      @kinorris1709 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, once you learn the game, Harros is argueably the best shell. He has servicable health stamina and resolve, he has a far better harden than the others (the harden effect lasts longer after being hit, he can harden more often and it can be used to fully restore stamina almost instantly). I used him against the final boss for those reasons, and the boss could barely touch me.
      High health is awesome, but Eredrim has very limited stamina and only has a single roll rather than a stepdodge with a roll followup. He gets less hits off, can't use the Martyr blade without completely depleting his stamina, and his massive health pool only really matters if you heal much more regularly because he has less defensive options and has to face tank hits more often. 7 familiar shrooms to heal from near death to near full health with the health upgrade he gets. Meanwhile, Harros only uses up 3. Coupled with how he can refill his stamina so fast and so often, he can not only use it for defense, but offense too.
      Tiel obviously dies very fast and even if a hit doesn't kill you, it messes you up bad and literally any damage removes his poison on hit buff. Plus, the grisha grab oneshots him at max health.
      Solomon can build resolve very fast, and store slightly more for weapon skill spam, but the others still have plenty, excluding Tiel, and you gain it back so fast anyway once you get the item from the vendor to the left of the narthex dungeon entrance.

If you leave fallgrim tower hub through the main door, and go straight forward to Grisha , next to him is a chest containing it (you don’t need to fight him for it) and boom! Get it at the start of the game. There is also a modification called the Molten Spike which is the same but with fire and uses more resolve. There is another Grisha you can fight, and it needs to be foggy as it’s in a frog chest.

I wouldnt be surprised if elden ring is closer to sekiro than a dark souls game. So we will eventually need teams like this to give us our dark souls itch.

    Harold is objectively the worst shell in the entire game. Master of nothing. Eredim is the easiest shell and the easiest way to deal damage (with his passive that stacks 100 times). The thief is the most permissive shell of all since you can spam roll in this game and abuse the invincibility frames. It is ridiculously to abuse the harden mechanic to avoid stamina loss. You can always ready a heavy attack harden and repeat, it works with every boss and enemy in the entire game. Really bad advice with shells. Solomon is a better objetive version of the first shell. The thief is ridiculous easy to kill bosses and you can run indefinitely if upgraded (it is really easy to run through enemies, the AI is not very smart). Eredim the big boy tank is good at everything, and it is the only shell with poise mechanic, you can ignore the stamina by abusing hardening and reading a heavy mechanic, overall the best shell. Just listen to me, get the claymore (martyrs blade) big boy eredim, ready a heavy, harden and repeat, child’s play.

      in my playing experience, I've found that Solomon is good to grind in the beginning. Once you have enough farm to get the upgrades, I'd roll with Tiel (hehehe roll) or Eredrim, whichever suits better your playstyle. I mean... Solomon's passives "When talking to an NPC, Solomon gains a segment of resolve" or "Solomon becomes familiar with items more quickly and gains a glimpse on reading lore for the first time" compared to "Taking poison damage heals Tiel for a portion of the damage which would have been dealt" and "Eredrim deals extra damage against enemies who are alone"... like... buff the guy already!

    You know what, everything you said was helpful.......
    But you didn't even mention that you need to hold the "confirm" button to upgrade both shell and weapons, gave me days of confusion and the only one that said about it is a game article.....
    Like wtf, your medium should be more informative and helpful but this you forgot to say this f@#$ing tiny little very important detail.......

      Sorry you can't figure out simple mechanics. This guy made a video to help you with the more challenging things. Maybe have a bit of common sense and exploration

      You're right. The upgrade buttons are confusing. I kept clicking, and nothing... yet one click on the things I couldn't upgrade made a sound, not sure how I realised that holding the button is what triggers it, but it does.
