Good ideas but idk how much money will improve some basic mechanics not working well. Ds1 had problem and from soft didn't have alot of money then but mortal shell has way more problem than ds1 especially with basic mechanics
@@awesomeflippergamer does it really have more bad mechanics though? The only issues I see are cutting corners due to budget. The enemies are fun even though there aren’t enough types. The sense of direction may be an issue for many, but that’s just what a Souls-like is. this game was really hard at first for me, but once i figured out the hardening mechanic and some of the other ones it became way way to easy. like beating bosses on my first attempt easy.
I havent played all dark souls, infact, i have only played Ds2, Bloodborne and Elden ring but i can say this, plenty of “souls” games are amazing, Mortal Shell is one of them, the fact you play as this “Orphan of Kos” looking like guy and inhabit peoples corpses and give them meaning once more is so cool and nothing like dark souls, sure the gameplay and combat are similar, this game is definitely far more different than other souls like games
Yeah, and the harden mechanic is really fun, plus I liked that there aren't 200 weapons, so the movesets are more fleshed out (or at least I liked them better. (sidenote: Bloodborne also has good movesets)). And I liked the simplicity of it.
Mortal Shell has a lot going for it that is probably better than Dark Souls, honestly. Parrying recovers health, which creates a big incentive to learn one of the more difficult aspects of a Souls-like - you can pretty much ignore parrying in DS with little consequence, whereas parrying was the only way I beat Grisha and Hadern, and it felt so fucking good, taking them head on like that, unlike the typical poke-him-in-the-butt approach to DS. Not criticising DS for that, it's a challenge and makes sense in context, but there's something to parrying in MS, hitting the seal and then seeing the life force drain from the enemy through your weapon and make you stronger. So cool.
Gave this game a fair try. Interesting game, very bad execution. Especially in the first areas. The entire swamp area looks exactly the same, not enough checkpoints (like bonfires) and no filling up your healthbar at checkpoints, no main healing item; just consumables. Full of camps with enemies just so they can overwhelm you, so you end up picking them one by one which takes forever and is boring. Overall the game is too difficult (in the first areas) and not in a fun/challenging way, just cheap. Later on the game becomes too easy tbh, but if the first areas are not fun then not many people are going to bother with it. Good effort, but the final productg is flawed to say the least.
I know people call these games Dark Souls clones, but as a dark souls lover, I’m happy with more games like it lmao

Loved seeing otzdarva play this, now you are too. Epic.
Tapped so fast my finger almost went through the screen
"Tapped so hard" you mean? You can be fast without force, but you can't be forceful without being fast.
Honestly, it’s a fun little game for the price.
"Slappin him with a wet noodle over here" im cryin
Is that a Zero mother trucking Lenny reference? Charles showing he's a man of culture as always

this game was really hard at first for me, but once i figured out the hardening mechanic and some of the other ones it became way way to easy. like beating bosses on my first attempt easy.
”But we already got darksouls at home”
*darksouls at home* :
This is a disgustingly disrespectful reply that is somewhat true
I just want to notify Charlie that a youtuber named sunnyv2 made a vid about ur journey on TH-cam. It was great
I was watching Charlie's karen videos and this shows up
Wow.
Charlie could actually go pro
th-cam.com/video/hAGg2V2FMGY/w-d-xo.html penguinz acting like a real penguin! what?
Woah is this the famous Killer Bean voice actor everyone is talking about
