I've said it before, but it often feels like every track she puts out is her best one. Dice is *constantly* improving her work and it's greatly appreciated.
Wow I didn't expected to see you here! I always loved to watch your streams and videos but discovering that you are listening demondice made me love you more.
I really like 2 sentences in this song: - "The young searching for more, become living expense" - "There no road loaded with silver and gold, it just a treasure you make for you" These two sentences scream in my face that don't just accept being used, work, then die. It motivated me to do more for myself and my family. Thanks Demondice for another amazing song.
This is the perfect track to cap off the journey that is this EP. There's a somewhat triumphant feeling to this song with its sentiment of looking forward despite the hardships and sorrows. All in all, this is an amazing EP. Great work DD.
After the raw emotions and darker tone of the other three songs, this finale is so cathartic! It doesn’t shy away from, dismiss, or say good-bye to the pain and mistakes that came before, nor does it gloss over the fact that there will surely still be hard times ahead. To me, it’s a triumphant song about the serenity found in accepting the dark with the light and the inner-strength that can only be achieved through facing your demons. The song may be “fake ass gold” but the hook is bonafide gold. “Survive. Thrive. You are alive. Don’t let em tell ya two and two makes five.” Goddamn! DDK, you took that baseball bat you carry and you smashed this EP out of the park. Helluva way to kick off 2022! Thank you so much for being you, and thanks for the blood, sweat, and tears put into your music. It’s incredible, inspiring, and I love it. Take it from the top, let’s loop it again!
This song reminds me a lot of "you're an ace, kid" in it's presentation of (what I believe is) the message that despite all the weight of the past and the present, it's up to us to make the best of it and not let it drag us down. Even after all the bull that's come and gone since "Alkatraz," I find it somewhat poetic that your last song here "rhymes" with your last song there, that you've not been deterred from that mindset and you're still standing strong against it all. And to that I say, hell yeah. EDIT: Also I know I've certainly oversimplified the meaning, there are a lot of layers XD
What a fantastic song to end the EP! I love how it feels like a culmination of the themes of the other songs yet adds its own message: life may be full of struggles and to reach success can take a difficult journey, but putting in the work creates your own rewards. Also, I want to bring attention to how awesome the sound effects are! They don't distract from the song, being just enough to spice it up; good additions! Thank you so, so much for doing what you do. You've helped so many people, and please never forget you are appreciated. Once again, thank you. ❤️
Yeah. It's a complex thing in the context of the EP as a whole. Basically it's easy to lose sight of how much you have if ambition (which is good) twists your vision into seeing only what you don't have and maybe you think you should. Also similarly, the path of struggles can blind you to the good things. It can be easy to lose sight of the people on your side if you let yourself get surrounded by negativity.
This is literally everything i could ever ask for in a DD song. Catchy, and with a good message too. Her singing has improved a lot at zero risk of any of her other songwriting abilities. "Don't take what you have for granted, and certainly don't sell it all away goin after something that's gilded rock at best." A good finale to another banger album. I can already tell 2022 is gonna kick ass
The beat feels so 90s. Especially in beginning. I dig it. And the lyrics? They got depth to them. The only treasure on this road are the ones you make for yourself....damn.
Damn bro, song after song. I've only heard a few seconds of this one and it's already great. I love the piano. DemonDice coming back with a triumphant return for us to enjoy multiple pieces. Update after listening to more of the song: I love it. Completely up to par with all of her other works. It flows well together, rhymes perfectly in so many places and just generally sounds amazing, with the instrumental really emphasizing the lyrics to beautiful effect. This is an amazing song, just like the rest. She just doesn't miss. The meaning behind the lyrics to great as well, a little subtle, but still generally obvious that anyone could pick up on it.
as the old saying goes: "All that glitters is not gold." the real treasure in life really are the friendships and love and tenderness and courage we found along the way keep being you, DD, you are a great person
The use of hollowed instead of hallowed threw me at first, so much i wondered if it was a typo, but I think I might get it now. Something about the phrase "pyrite skies" made me smile.
Every demondice songs that she has realeased while it has a really great rhytm, but the lyrics are what I really like the most. It conveys many hardship and I think people really resonates with it
This one feels a bit like "You're an Ace Kid" in that the lyrics are still cynical and grounded, but the message comes off as encouraging to me. This entire EP was incredible DD! Can't wait to see what the surprise is. Edit: YO WTF SHE'S STREAMING IN 10 HOURS!!👀
@@ruz01_7 I got so excited when she said that! Though I noticed that a few others here made the same comparison. Her explanation of all the songs made me love this EP even more.
I think this is a great end to the EP. Demondice had a very intense track "take the bait" and a melancholic song with "dark hour," but she chooses to end the EP with a song with her original style to remind us that she's still in control after all.
I really like how this turns around the mood of this EP. Starting off with a venting about the struggles of the life you're living, a peek into your life so we understand what you're going through, and hearing how hard it is to handle it all, then finishing with a reminder that none of it is enough to keep you down because you're damn determined to make the most of the life you've gotten. This was beautiful, thank you DDK.
A lot of people have been making comparisons to You’re an Ace, Kid, and yeah it’s very similar. But what I really like about it is that it’s kind of like an epilogue or addendum to Ace. Ace is about not giving up when an opportunity doesn’t live up to your expectations. Someone chased gold only to find pyrite, and it’s basically saying “keep trying and eventually you’ll find that gold!” This song is from someone more experienced. Someone who had coke to realize that the gold won’t bring them happiness, and that the real treasure was the friends made along the way.
Definitely the most hopeful sounding one of these so far to me. Gives me real "Pick yourself back up, hike up your pants, and keep swinging" vibes. The kinda song some people need to hear.
You inspire me DD. You're so real and you don't sugarcoat things, as life does indeed suck a lot of times, but you still are an optimist that knows there will come good things too! It's a pretty quick observation I know, but I had to say it, you really make me wanna try harder whenever I feel down.
"The world's a nasty place of happy faces, painted on masks and if you say it unironically, the internet laughs" Man... that pretty much sums up where my depression has come from ever since I grew to be an adult and realized how much of everything is just a facade. I hate that we can't just be more straightforward with our _actual_ feelings in this world and every time I try to do so, I'm either ridiculed or looked at funny. It's anxiety inducing for sure.
I heard that lyrics and instantly thought of Dream's song, Mask. He's got a happy face painted on a mask, and he tried to do something serious and tackle a topic much more mature than his audience and the internet laughed. Its a great reference imo, though this interpretation could simply be wrong.
This EP is absolutely wonderful, and the meanings behind each song really does hit hard. I am so glad that of all days for this EP to end, it is the “anniversary” of the day I found DD’s music. Absolutely my personal favorite artist, and I wish everyone a pleasant day with these new beats.
This song in particular resonates with me, the acknowledgement that things go wrong but you can still get through it and find something worthwhile is super calming. 100/10 gold star
I keep on coming back to this song, it has absolutely blown me away. Im not sure if Karen reads these comments but I hope a vinyl is produced. Id love to buy it. Shirt Gang where you at?
I love the message that you can have fake ass gold(something you treasure) and still cherish what you have, even if other people find it worthless and hate on you because of it.
Excited to see your first new EP since becoming a fan! Thanks for the great music. Gotta say, I used to feel a bit like this, thinking if I'd just reach some arbitrary level of success that I'd have nothing to feel bad about...and it really hasn't. There's so much difference between what people are told they may want and what any given person might actually value in their lives. I've been far happier with the idea of just being able to share my art with friends and others who appreciate it, even many people I look up to as fellow creators, and I've got to say thanks for sharing your work to inspire that kind of passion in me the past couple years.
I really love those last few lines. They're so uplifting and make for a great ending to the EP. It contrasts really well with the mood the rest of the EP has. Which shows not everything is doom and gloom. That sometimes the real treasure is what you have right infront of you. That being the future you make for yourself. You just gotta take initiative, be the master of your destiny. Its pretty inspirational. "There will be days of sorrow, know we'll be knowing better, there will be a tomorrow" Those really lit a fire in my heart. It makes me want to try harder, even it things are tough, because there's a better day ahead of me. That's at least what I took from those last few lines.
I'm actually really glad you chose to put this song today, I feel this one the most. To tell the truth, you put this album out just at the right time as I'm currently at the lowest point of my life, bar none. I won't go into details, but I'm trying to turn things around and your songs helped cushion the drop. I'm thankful you came back and made these songs, I look forward to hear more future songs, if possible. You rock, DD.
I haven’t listened to the full ep yet and only to them one at a time as they’ve dropped on TH-cam. I’m glad I’ve gotten a bit more time to process them but this one is my favorite so far.
This kind of music ain't always my cup of tea, but there's something about this EP I find really compelling. Your work is very interesting to me, and I really love what I'm hearing, you can tell it's from a place of sincerity and deep reflection. Basically, great stuff, DD! Can't wait to hear more from you in the future!
The message of this song is very powerful, and it speaks to a lot of the disillusionment i've been feeling recently with people and the internet So to you DD, and to everyone else here, remember that you are stronger than those who would try and bring you down, and if you rise above it they can't hurt you x
This is such a freaking awesome banger. It's impossible not to groove and dance along with the song. I really do love the melancholic, yet still optimistic and uplifting theme and story to the song. It starts with all of the reasons you wanted to reach for those goals and go down this musical journey, but it also shows the legitimate dangers and personal costs of being selfish on that journey and taking advantage of people to achieve what you sought after. I like that very open and honest nature to the song. But, I love the ending and how it tells you to value the people closest to you, the ones who you support you through it all. If you can learn to recognize the true treasures in your life, like the genuine love and support of those who're there for you, you'll get farther and be more fulfilled than going for a hollow, unattainable goal or "fake ass gold." Brilliant work, DDK. I love how you can communicate such a complex and meaningful message while making a badass bop that just makes you want to dance is real talent. Thanks for this song and this entire EP. It was an amazing line up of S tier quality songs. It's great to have you back, DDK. There's no one who makes music quite like you. You're the real gold here. Also, that spoken intro to the song was the best. "When I feel like dyin, then I start rhymin." Classic DemonDice. Not cringe at all. That gave me a good laugh. Love that cheesy, goofy, yet honest side of you, DDK. Welcome back.
Yet another track that I resonate with. Folks out there tell me that the world doesn't care about me, especially if I don't have wealth. I know better. Material wealth means nothing if it doesn't make me happy, and it doesn't. Life's roads are indeed barren of silver and gold, but I choose to let love and inner balance be the treasure I make for myself. "Don't let them tell you two and two makes five." Firmly middle-class, living paycheck to paycheck, but I deny the suits who try to give me "advice" on how to live my life, or challenge my world view. Their success with wealth is meaningless to me. Chase what makes you happy, never take it for granted and do not relent. Not for one second. Thank you Demon Dice.
Wow. I mean WOW, this one hits differently doesn't it? Thank you Demondice, you're a true inspiration for so many reasons. I'm in genuine awe of your lyrics. This EP has been a fantastic ride.
This whole EP is just filled with authenticity. Demondice took a good look at herself AND the haters, it's never written from the high horse. Overall it's piece of reflection and self-reflection, and an interesting ride all around. By the end of it, in this song, there's a heavy emphasis on owning your faults along with your accomplishments. I love it, I seriously love it. I'm not a huge fan of most rap but something this honest just hits the right spot for me.
This song... it's basically what I'm going through now with my swimming career, as well as the person I'll be 2 1/2 years from now. I don't know what aspired you to make this song, but I know you had to go through a lot of pain and grief. This entire EP has a personality to it that I've never heard before, and I LOVE it. You're amazing. (That "for lies and Pyrite skies" hit me like a freight train. That was brilliant!)
Maybe it's a basic thing to point out, but this EP feels like a journey, and the name fits it well. The first couple songs tell us to shut up, and this one still has that cynical sting to it, but it's got an uplifting message hiding in those bars, and you can't help but Get. Happy.
Encouraging others by shouting hard truths is something I rarely see nowadays. With everything being "cancelled" for even a hint of controversy, I can't say I hear many grounded speeches with the bandage being torn straight off, and it's somewhat more encouraging to know someone else acknowledges the harshness of reality with a spin that allows that message to be used as motivation and a drive to keep moving forward in such a harsh reality.
I won't pretend to know what's going through DD's mind. But to me, this reminds me that I got comfortable because I'm living easy. I forgot about the mountain I had to climb to get here. I'm just now waking up to see the higher peaks I've yet to reach, but the fire is back. That pitch made of big dreams and heartbreak burns hot, all it takes is a spark.
This song made me cry. After listening to the other songs, this one just hits so hard. You have made me want to be the best version of myself, thank you Demondice!
All these songs express so many emotions which "seem in your face" at first glance but have a lot of depth to them, and her flow is impeccable as always. Great song DD!
I like the feeling of "the journey is hard but it's also the best part" the song gives me. I think out of the four this one is the one that will make me want to dance the more while walking on my way to my destiny.
Bro just got another yt account just letting ya know I listen to your songs every night on my Alexa. It has really helped me through lots of anxiety. Idk why. Your music soothes me and helped me focus on studies more. I thank you for that!
I love you so much. Your music means more to me than I can explain in words, and has helped me through so much. You have so much talent and always leave me speechless with what you do. Keep up what you’re doing DD ~
One thing that always worries me about artists when they release new songs is that they lose that essence that characterizes them, that makes them unique and that what their songs attracted me, but with DD, song after song that she presents us, she does nothing but put the bar higher and higher, I fell in love with alkatraz and her whole album, then I discovered american saikoro and her other songs falling more and more on her dice. With this new EP I have no doubt that you will become that "Diamond star" of ace kid. Great job Karen.
This is a banger. The beat is a nice upbeat sort of thing, and your lyrics are on point as always. Glad i found you when you released your second op, you're the best female rapper around.

The singing part of this track also reminds me of my favorite meal I had at a certain fine dining restaurant.
Appreciate this encore song during Kawaii Kon 2022.
The message of this song is very powerful, and it speaks to a lot of the disillusionment i've been feeling recently with people and the internet
So to you DD, and to everyone else here, remember that you are stronger than those who would try and bring you down, and if you rise above it they can't hurt you x
Nobody's talking about it but the minimalist art has impact for some reason. I just love everything about this production.
I ADORE the early Kanye energy of this beat, hell yes. Always have time for piano, soul claps and a pitched up vocal.
That laugh at the beginning is pure serotonin
Ill never get tired of your flow
You know you have a banger of an album when a song this good is considered underrated.
This one had me non-stop physically jamming from 0:39 to 3:25, it doesn't stop. This one's really good. Pyrite skies... bravo.
The beats on this track are some of my favorites, and I can hear your emotion in the lyrics.
I typically don’t like rap, but the way you do it just hits different, it almost feels like a different genre! You can really feel the passion!
The word you're looking for is "hip-hop" and yeah, this track is the best hip-hop I've heard in years.
Damn y’all have not been listening to hip hop in a while then.
look into hip hop
Keep an eye out for what Kendrick's dropping
“I typically don’t like rap, but…” 🤓
All the songs on this release are slick as hell. I love the beats.
I have become obsessed with this song. This is now my top favorite on the album.
The songs keep coming and they don’t stop coming
No road is loaded with silver and gold, it's just the treasure that you make for you.
Salute, DEMONDICE! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
My favorite song off the EP, glad it's finally on YT for everyone to enjoy. A straight vibe with inspirational lyrics, what more could you want?
my guy drops four songs in a row
and all all of them are bangers
Really needed this today. Thanks again for everything. You rock.
This is the new anthem fr. Makes me wanna cry and follow my dreams so good
jesus christ this song fucking owns so hard. still hits as hard as it did the very first time
That laugh in the beginning cured my sadness for today, 10/10
This whole EP is just filled with authenticity. Demondice took a good look at herself AND the haters, it's never written from the high horse. Overall it's piece of reflection and self-reflection, and an interesting ride all around. By the end of it, in this song, there's a heavy emphasis on owning your faults along with your accomplishments. I love it, I seriously love it. I'm not a huge fan of most rap but something this honest just hits the right spot for me.
I'm so glad you found a way to come back to this channel ❤️
This song... it's basically what I'm going through now with my swimming career, as well as the person I'll be 2 1/2 years from now. I don't know what aspired you to make this song, but I know you had to go through a lot of pain and grief. This entire EP has a personality to it that I've never heard before, and I LOVE it. You're amazing. (That "for lies and Pyrite skies" hit me like a freight train. That was brilliant!)
0:18 that’s not a choir, that’s one ironmouse.
Maybe it's a basic thing to point out, but this EP feels like a journey, and the name fits it well. The first couple songs tell us to shut up, and this one still has that cynical sting to it, but it's got an uplifting message hiding in those bars, and you can't help but Get. Happy.
The song has definitely grown on me, it's my fav of the album now after like 30 loops. I appreciate every words and notes in it!
Wholesome final track.
This whole album’s production quality is so good
Encouraging others by shouting hard truths is something I rarely see nowadays.
Just found this. Instantly going into the playlist.
your music has saved my life, and i really mean that
thank you
I won't pretend to know what's going through DD's mind.
Absolute Bop. My favorite of the new songs honestly. They’re all amazing, but this is the one I’m gonna be putting into my “anytime” playlist.
This song made me cry. After listening to the other songs, this one just hits so hard.
You have made me want to be the best version of myself, thank you Demondice!
The beat and lyric made me vibing everytime i listen it. Sometimes it stuck in your head and vibing by myself
This song alone provides at least a quarter of my motivation in life. Thank you DDK!
This song, and this EP, is anything but fake ass gold!
I love you so much. Your music means more to me than I can explain in words, and has helped me through so much. You have so much talent and always leave me speechless with what you do. Keep up what you’re doing DD ~
This song has been living rent free in my head for days since I've heard it for the first time
update: months
"Thrive. Survive. You are alive. "
This hit home. I love this EP ❤️
My life hasn't been filled with much gold, but those pieces I do have are very precious to me.
This is a banger. The beat is a nice upbeat sort of thing, and your lyrics are on point as always. Glad i found you when you released your second op, you're the best female rapper around.
My personal favorite of the album!
This gives me Lin Manuel Miranda vibes, and it's just wonderful.
How tf are you so skilled, DDK???
Best of the new songs hands down
Your music is always incredible
Dropping a whole album on us Dice? I’m not complaining these are damn good
