Count Morbid I know I clarified this on stream, but just so people have the record straight- “Sad Boys” are a subgroup of rappers and rap fans that glamorize depression and make it look desirable. So it’s definitely different from men with depression in general. There’s a certain behavior associated with it, if you look into the “yung lean/sad boy” subculture you may have better context. 👌

I have depression and it is not fun at all.
A lot of people pretend to have depression I've found for attention or to "seem cool" but living with it for a significant amount of my life I can say that depression is not something to glamorize or idealize.
It literally tears people's lives apart.

I've been listening to this and "you're an ace kid" on repeat. Your delivery is great, not flat or boring, and it puts the poetry and quality of voice before the speed of delivery. The backing track is interesting to listen to even without the verses, so it's not distracting and doesn't take away from poetry. I probably sound super obnoxious the way I've written this, I just really love your work.

@@specimenx4139 It's 100% her, it's not even a question. Apart from her voice, the style may be different but it's not THAT different. Hell, in her first song a sound motif it's a couple of DICE rolling on a table. I mean, c'on lol.
Said so, it's not like they actually enforce anomymity, it's just a part of the fanbase being fucking crazy about it.
It's pretty easy for anyone to gather up who they are anyway, only "The detective" tried to do it seriously and kinda hide her previous career. It's quite easy to guess the identity of the others if you knew them before.
Of course who spams about it in their chat are fuckng assholes, but there is nothing bad about sharing it with others. I knew Demondice (Karen) before Hololive, I can only even be more of a fan now that she also makes something else on the side.

Those who legitimately struggle with doing things because of depression like myself get a bad rap of just whining and shit. shit wait hi i just noticed you referenced Menhera!! Menhera _isnt_ an aesthetic, its a _movement_ in Japan. It's a subculture about bringing "invisible illness" into view. you probably know this, but Japan has reaaally horrible mental health care. The stigma is reallyyy fucking bad- in fact- the term is being reclaimed by the mentally ill, but it was originally used as an insult. People in the community will often emphasize the fact that it's not simply a fashion style, its a means of self-expression for the genuinely ill. I've heard it compared to "wearing vent art."
There will always be those people that come in and make shit problematic, but thats true of anything really. Those who are exploiting those subgroups and faking illness for attention are a big-ass "disease" in and of themselves.... anyways, for those who are genuinly just expressing themselves in a way that helps them, more power to 'em!

@ I lowkey feel super sad about her leaving behind her old life. Your boi is still super cool and drops fine beats but they lack that umph, since she eeds to hold back her full power. Also the culture around the fact of "forbidden knowdlage" is super weird and cringe. Because not only does it discourage people from listening to her beautiful songs but also has the exact opposite effect. It's like selling your soul for fame and money I guess I'm trying to say. All this world she created and all that time now forgotten in order to pursue something new. The fans pretending like it never happend. It's just soo frustrating. Its disrespectful. Lists be honest only people who cant recognize reality from fiction feed into this crap fuelling the let's be honest pretty bad idol industry and stigma that the internet would have rebelled against few years ago. Never forget those who "graduated" for sumbass reasons.

The other day while I was listening to Lil Peep I saw a comment in one of his songs that said something like "he was suffering and people were enjoying it". Even though Sick Outta Fashion talks about more things and the message is not exactly the same, it reminded me of this song. It's sad that something that can even help the artist as a self therapy, it's just seen as an aesthetic or a fashion by a part of the fans. Luckily there are people who listen to this kind of music but they can still be respectful towards the artist and be honest about that toxic part of the fanbase.
