The backing track is interesting to listen to even without the verses, so it's not distracting and doesn't take away from poetry. The other day while I was listening to Lil Peep I saw a comment in one of his songs that said something like "he was suffering and people were enjoying it". Even though Sick Outta Fashion talks about more things and the message is not exactly the same, it reminded me of this song. It's sad that something that can even help the artist as a self therapy, it's just seen as an aesthetic or a fashion by a part of the fans. Luckily there are people who listen to this kind of music but they can still be respectful towards the artist and be honest about that toxic part of the fanbase.

I don't think she's against the people that makes songs because they're depressed as it's a good form of venting. I think this song is more aimed towards those that glamourise it and make it look desirable. Hope that clears things up :)
I've never been into rap, and this sad boi aesthetic is what I didn't like I guess. But listening to this with my ongoing struggle with depression really hit me. "I'm glad that you can make some money off whats killing me in real life" just really hit, and as I musician I sympathise with the struggle. Thanks for this.

The other day while I was listening to Lil Peep I saw a comment in one of his songs that said something like "he was suffering and people were enjoying it". Even though Sick Outta Fashion talks about more things and the message is not exactly the same, it reminded me of this song. It's sad that something that can even help the artist as a self therapy, it's just seen as an aesthetic or a fashion by a part of the fans. Luckily there are people who listen to this kind of music but they can still be respectful towards the artist and be honest about that toxic part of the fanbase.
