Everyone calling it the Pfizer vaccine really hurts, as it was developed mainly by BioNTech and Pfizer is just the bigger partner they needed for clinical trials, logistics and production, because they were too small to do it all on their own 😭😫

Well in Germany it's called biontech:) I always get confused when someone calls it pfizer
I call it Comirnaty because that's the name of the vaccine and I think it's hilarious. I haven't the faintest clue how to even pronounce it. Is it German? Is it English? Is it something else entirely?

(In the UK they sometimes just call it the Oxford vaccine!)
In India we call AstraZeneca as Covishield
In Sweden media sometimes just call it the Astra vaccine ("Astravaccinet").
Here in Brazil, we call it either Oxford, Astrazeneca or FioCruz (which is the lab that distributes it here).
So that's what they were talking about when saying Oxford vaccine.

Not like it makes any sense to call it a Pfizer vaccine. Nobody says the universities of Bern/Zurich invented general relativity, they just provided the means for Einstein to do so. The same is true for BioNtech and Pfizer - Pfizer paid for some of it (iirc, most of the cost was actually covered by the government), and provided their facilities for testing and production - but the geniuses at BioNtech developed it. Proper attribution of success is vital, and it is owed to stupidity and probably american "patriotism", that most of the world now calls it a Pfizer vaccine.
Technically that‘s also the more accurate thing, as almost all the work was done by them 😂
As you should! I remember during the development and early release it was always called Biontech. The 1st time I saw it referred to as Pfizer, I thought it was a different vaccine

BioNTech is not a vaccine, mate, it's a company that co-developed the vaccine. The actual names of the vaccines are:

I actually got Covid although I fully vaccinated with Sputnik. Some of the friends of my friends did too, fully vaccinated as well.

Let's be accurate. Nobody can say that they did not get infected because of X. Maybe it is true. But maybe you would not have been infected without X. Maybe you got infected BEFORE but had no symptoms. Maybe you were infected AFTER but had no symptoms. Maybe you will be infected next week (Let's hope you do not).
Vaccines work statically. For an individual they improve their chances but offer no guarantee. What you can really see are its effects on the whole of the population.
And please do not see this comment as a way of debating if sputnik is good or bad. That is for technical people to debate on the basis of data. But "I got X and did not develop symptoms" is more of an anecdote than data.

Actually covax IS AstraZeneca. Just it's produced in India vs. the US. We've used both here in Quebec, but some countries will not accept the covax vaccine even though it's the same recipe. Quebec has also mixed vaccines, I recieved AZ first and then Pfizer BioNtech second, which they made a joke about as well. Brilliant sketch!
Foil’s American accent is impressive. The fact that an American didn’t notice it the first 10 times through is a testament to how good it is. Completely understated.
To be fair, it doesn't take much effort for an Irishman to do a US accent, they are quite similar in some ways.
It wasn't until you mentioned it. It is a perfect American accent. And yeah I have watched this at least 10 times.

In all honesty: I don't know. But it's 2021 and youtube is available worldwide. Since I personally watch and read most everything in English these days, i came across Foils Arms and Hog quite some time ago. Probably first due to their sketch concerning US border guard checks at the airport.
I'd also like to add that most of the content posted by Foils Arms and Hog are quite universally understood. Like this exact video concerning the covid19 vaccines.

@@maxdavis7722 Delta variant was called "India variant", and it provoked xenophobic attacks against Indian community in UK. hence, the guy refused to call it as "alpha variant" and referred as "UK variant".
Adding more to this, some UK politician was adamant in usage of India variant, but when the "UK variant" came out which effected his stay in some foreign country the guy cried racism behind it lol.

@@jasongarfitt1147 I don't know. I don't have much knowledge about most languages. It just doesn't sound like dialect-free German and also not like a German dialect I know. My best bet is that the name originated in Switzerland. It sounds swiss to me (when I try to pronounce it German).
