I like your Tactic method of evangelizing through Gardening and then Harvesting because it takes the pressure of going for the conversion everytime. The only push back I have to this method is if the Gardener doesn't try and go for the conversion when they have the chance then the person could die and go to Hell before a Harvester has a chance to come into contact with them and is converted. This is why the Christian may have to just spend some extra time giving the person the gospel and the Holy Spirit will do the rest in order for the person to be converted.

Everytime an evangelical comes knocking on my door to tell me the good news I tell that person I don;t want to join the republican party and then I shut the door.

Respect! If we are on the side of the truth, we don't really mind getting examined. In fact, this tactic should be used to tear down walls of presumptions. A truth-seeking discussion won't shy away from the eye of the storm, and it should be shameful to use this tactic to mislead people away from the truth.

The "Socratic method" is a form of argumentative dialogue between individuals, based on asking and answering questions (5th century BCE). I loved watching Columbo, but he didn't invent it. 😀 Eventually Columbo put all the pieces together to explain the crime... and off to jail the criminal went... very satisfying.

I have dealt with this on various social websites like Quora and TH-cam. I never knew it had a name or even was a concept. I discovered when I was answering questions I was on defense. I was on my heels. I would try to find a way to turn it around and go back on offense. It took a while to learn not to let that happen.

It's just a variant of the Socratic Method. Greg never calls it thus, but that's what it is.

Regarding the ending of the video, if either party states, “make your point,” have we not gotten to the/an issue that we were heading for anyway? Re-begin the discussion from there. I see it as a point for Isaiah’s statement at 1:18, “let us reason together.” Of course this would be in a relatively amenable conversation.

What has the columbo tactic to do with being christian or religion. It is usfull what ever your belives are. Why bring religion into it i belive it to be somthing private. However thes are good and harmles tactics that can be applied in differant situations.
