About Tactics Video Study:
In a world increasingly indifferent to Christian truth, followers of Christ need to be equipped to communicate with those who do not speak their language or accept their source of authority. In the Tactics Video Study, apologist and radio host Gregory Koukl demonstrates how to get in the driver's seat in discussions about faith, keeping any conversation moving with thoughtful, artful tact. Readers will learn how to maneuver comfortably and graciously through potential minefields, stop challengers in their tracks, turn the tables, and most importantly, get people thinking about Jesus with conversations that look more like diplomacy than D-Day.
Drawing on extensive experience defending Christianity in the public square, Koukl demonstrates how to:
Initiate conversations effortlessly
Present the truth clearly, cleverly, and persuasively
Graciously and effectively expose faulty thinking
Skillfully manage the details of dialogue
Maintain an engaging, disarming style even under attack
Designed to be used alongside the Tactics Study Guide, the Tactics Video Study provides a game plan for communicating the compelling truth about Christianity with confidence and grace.
Thank you David Wood for such a recommendation
Thanks to David wood for recommending Greg koukl..
Me too!!
😍👍
Same here. Praise be to Jesus Christ .
That's how I got here.
Me too
I have been a Christian for donkey years and never heard of Greg Koukl until Dr Wood's recommendation. I went straight to the debate with Deepak. It was a total decimation of Deepak. What an amazing man.
Deepak? He's not much of an obstacle I'd say. LOL
abi.. is it our mission, is it Jesus's Great Commission that we "Decimate" unbelievers or skeptics? where is your heart right now? I'll tell you it's not the heart of Jesus.
The koukl vs choirs debate was well conducted and moderated. I found myself thinking that it seemed like a debate between my head (Chopra) and my heart (Koukl).
When Dr.Chopra spoke he made many logical valid points that stand up upon a cursory viewing. When Mr.Koukl spoke I felt a resonating message that affected me physically, a glimpse of the Truth.
This guy is brilliant.

Linden Vann How did you come to that conclusion ?

Thanks to Dr Wood for recommending this book.
David Woods recommended Gregory Kokl on his channel. I am glad. Have to find a way to watch his debate with Deepak Chopra. I heard from Woods that he massacred Chopra.
Yup. Im here because of David's recommendation.
Me too
I heard David recommend his book Tactics and I ordered it last night!
Cherilyn Roach - Hi guys, same here! I am enjoying these videos with GK!
Wood brought me here too...Chopra : oh no, what did I get into???
I'm here because of David Wood's recent recommendation as well.
I came here because of Dr. David Wood's reference to the book "Tactics". I'm amazed by what I am hearing! This is hidden gem for all Christians! Thank you very much, Dr. D. Wood for recommending this book!
Similar to me.
I became aware of Greg Koukl and his wonderful book from Mike Winger on a TH-cam video. I'm SO glad I bought this book. Two copies at that. One paperback, so I can share it, and a Kindle version that goes with me everywhere.
Thank you, Melissa Dougherty, for introducing us to Greg Koukle & his book "Tactics".
What a good book! I just cannot stop reading it nor watching the video. Greg Koukl is a true gardener who sows the seeds of spiritual growth. I use his talks and examples to convey the messages and game plan to my family in their everyday dealings with people
I’m here because of David Wood. Jesus is Lord
I am also here because mr wood recommend it. I also just bought the book
SnowMonkey Bear me too!🙌🏻
Me too!
David Wood brought me here and got me to read the book. Really enjoyed Tactics.
Same here Amen..God bless brothers and sister
Wow! Thank God, brother D Wood recommended Greg Koukl, awesome teacher. The Kingdom of our God is forcefully advancing
I’d just like to have this man as a guest in my home for a weekend and ply his mind with all the challenges I face in witnessing.
Amen. I'm here also because of Mr David Wood. God bless you, brother ❤️🙏😊
It is my prayer for my Muslim brothers and sisters to come to Jesus Christ!
Thank you David woods
Thanks for your recommendation David Wood .
Thanks David Wood! I've heard Koukl on the Radio but hadn't heard of this book till David recommended it.
Thank you so much. Your explanation on sowing and reaping really makes sense to me. I find myself sowing much more than reaping. I cannot seem to close the deal in person but many people benefit from my writings in the shadows. I was sowing seeds of faith, they eventually found Christianity worth considering, and so they find a church, the church closes the deal.
It’s telling that Koukl treats this as a game to be won rather than trying to actually understand the real world and meaningfully engage with people with whom he disagrees.
It's also to prevent his students from being forced to answer difficult questions. Just keep their opponent constantly on the defensive.
Opposite of what he said, to both comments. Listen again.
Thank you for that bit about the Woman at the Well. It was beautiful and its so true.
Pastor at the church I attend in Arkansas recommended tactics. I’m enjoying the book and these videos.
Thank you Greg for coming to our church and train us several years ago. Recently, I was able to share your Colombo tactic with my relative in trying to share Christ with her dad. :)
Same here,I've been watching David's TH-cam channel for years and am here because he pointed me towards Gregory,I've just bought his book as well, just started reading it.
im blown away. this is gold. what a blessing. such clarity and common sense. respectful, tactful way to cultivate the gospel. genius!
Tactics is a great book.
I’m here from David wood and I bought the book as well
I bought the audio book, but might also get the book as well.
This is amazing. Everyone share the faith, the gospel! Garden together, leave the real work to the Holy Spirit!
Thanks, Dr. Wood
I often ask questions to get "the lay of the land" ...where they're at. This is essential really so you know how to proceed. Love this information ....and that I'd already been doing this right.
Thank you, Zondervan for this priceless resource for free! 😭
I have been wondering how I could react and motivate others ..this is wonderful information...I feel like I can totally do this! thank you for your down to earth and realistic guidelines..can't wait to start asking questions with kindness and sow that little seed! God Bless you!
I’m also here because of David Woods recommendation. I’m so excited to buy and study the book. Thank you so much for writing this book and creating this course. Amazing!!
Asking questions means also I respect and see the person and show interest in him or her.
I got this book because of David Wood's suggestion and commendation. Indeed, I am blessed to read it
Though I am not a Christian, I enjoy this tactic with asking questions and sincerely listening since it lets the person better explain and flesh out their viewpoint and can lead to actual meaningful conversations rather than both sides walking away learning nothing
Wow, thanking God for Greg Koukl!
Perfect charlatans playbook.✊thanks for the tips.
Thanks David Wood for recommending “Tactics”. I use this method of asking questions all the time online. Jesus often asked questions when people were trying to trap Him. Asking questions is a great way to identify inconsistencies in the other position, so you can help people critically reevaluate their positions.
Nice insight, to God be the glory.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 As an atheist who has never been indoctrinated in any religion I really appreciate this kind of approach. The more questions Christians (or members of any other religion) ask the better for everyone.
I'm curious, how can you have enough faith to believe that we're here by accident?
@@davegreene1198 😂 Just because I don't believe in Zeus doesn't mean I believe that lightning just happens. Just as you not believing in Shiva does not mean that you believe that destruction does not exist.
th-cam.com/video/d0A4_bwCaX0/w-d-xo.html
You should start by asking yourself if your concerns are genuine or the result of prejudices implanted by apologists trying to frame your perception of atheists, because it is not normal that in so few words someone can miss the mark so badly.
Great video, thank you and may the lord continue to grant you favour.
Finished reading "Tactics" this afternoon. Fantastic, and very practical. Thank you Jesus for blessing us with this man.
This is brilliant... while watching the video, I realised that I actually take naturally to gardening :). I naturally sow seeds and tend to the garden♥. I definitely would like to learn more.
David Wood @Acts17Apologetics gets all the credit for many of us watching this video, which was excellent. Looking forward to getting into the new edition of the book.
Me aslo
Koukl is great. I think a big part of his method is reducible to humility...to patience. Sometimes, that's just a result of having engaged the fray so many times that your skin gets a bit thicker and you don't take the bait every time an arrogant skeptic insults your intelligence or character. Another part is realizing that when an atheist insults our character....they're right. By biblical standards, none of us should be invested in our own sense of righteousness (e.g. the parable of the pharisee and the publican). Just remember that this isn't an argument over who is better....but rather...it's a discussion about IDEAS.
Just heard about on a moment ago from David Woods. Must get a copy of your book soon! Blessings be!
I love seeing my hero: David Wood mentioned here. Great lecture from Gregory Koukl.
Gregory is a Godsend. I've been employing these tactics in my athiestic household, to no great success unfortunately. I say the right things but they still don't understand what I'm saying and think I'm an idiot. I can't change that but I can always choose to defend my faith in Jesus Christ.
Maybe they're just critical thinkers? I'm an atheist, it doesn't take arguments to convince me, it would just take evidence. Not mammy pammy nonsense evidence, real evidence.
Atheists are incapable of understanding, only the Holy Spirit can possibly bring them out of the darkness. Remember to keep gardening and pray for a harvest.
From Liberia. I thank God for David wood for helping get here
We've had a class in our church studying "Tactics". It started out as a class offering on Wednesday evenings last spring, but we got so into the the book and there was so much content to go over that we continued it into this fall's sessions. Really great info on being and "Ambassador" for Jesus.
Thank you David Wood for recomending. This is so good. I am blessed.
I'm here as well because of david wood,I've also bought gregs book as well and it not only helps with my faith but also in the real world dealing with virtually any situation that arises I'd highly recommend it to anyone.
I just received the book, excited to learn how to do this effectively, thanks David Wood!

Great. Now I have to binge watch "Columbo".

Won't be a struggle though. It's a great show.
ha ha ha
Thank you David Wood
I’ve been accused of having no tact. I don’t know if I should evangelize. I’ll pray on the sidelines and keep learning more.
When people say you have no tact, they probably mean you come off as rude or don't have a filter.
While this could cause difficulty, one of the greatest advantages to Greg's Tactics is exactly this situation. The goal of what he's talking about is using questions to gently bring out the things people believe and infuse Jesus.
I would really encourage you not to be afraid to evangelize, even if that just means engaging people in conversation enough to make them think. If you feel inferior in this, or like you need more help or information, I would be happy to talk about this more with you. I would love to see everyone, even non-Christians, be able to express and respond to opposition.
@@Rachano hi, this response is a bit late, but I need some help. I bought Gregory's book tactics and want to use it when evangelizing. However, my parents are non-chrisrians and my stepmom found out about the book and thinks i'm learning how to sell christianity / manipulate. She also said she saw me manipulate. While I don't want to manipulate anyone, maybe she is right. How am I supposed to go about this situation? I truly don't want to manipulate but am scared I was being manipulative or my stepmom thinks I am manipulative now
@@Biepbiepbonk Sorry, I didn't see this, and the moment has probably passed... Tactics is about two things - learn what the other person is thinking, and respond to their thoughts. Some tactics can be used to make the other person feel bad, but your goal is to encourage the other person to think about their view. Manipulation happens when you are trying to make someone believe something without thinking about it, but Tactics takes someone's own view and shows them how it might be lacking. If you talk to your stepmom about this again, consider this (my own thoughts about it): "I think Christianity is the best explanation for how the world works, and this book is helping me to understand other's ideas and show them where their explanation may not be sufficient. I want everyone to know why they believe what they believe, and I'm more interested in what other people think than forcing my own view on them."
Awesome! So necessary to go along with our knowledge of the apologetic arguments. I loved this so much I am now teaching the class using his DVD set with study guide at my church...and the class loves this also :) Spread the Word😘
Love the Colombo impression!!! 😆
Christian Apologetics 101
1) What do mean by that?
2) How did you come to that conclusion?
Amen
Every Christian should be watching this guy. It makes me so sick when I see my fellow Christians doing the finger wagging thinking they are gona be bringing anyone to Christ like that.
Here because of David Wood. Also going to read this book with my apologetics group soon.
It's Jesus behind the wheel. :)
I don't worry about the Harvesting. I don't worry about the Sowing or Reaping. He uses me where He needs to use me. He is always on time. Praise the Lord.
Wow! How interesting to see that so many people came down on this video after they watched David Woods video
David led me here also. 🙏

Great mimicry of Columbo!
Thanks. Always confused by the "tactics" when in a conversation, I definitely need that kind of book!
I love this
Yo this dude is like 1000x smarter than me. He asks like two questions and then drops a bombshell. I'd ask two questions and be like, have a nice day!
Amazing man of GOD. I like the stone in the shoe.
Brevity and clarity would also have been useful skills to introduce here. By the time you get to the point I've forgotten what the topic was!
I am here because of David Wood.
Reading your updated version of the book for seminary class and found these videos. helpful!!!
Koukl needs to take a course in logic.
What do you mean by that?
@@tjkotha7259 He has no sense of the proper use of logic. I taught logic in college.
Great class! I'm going to practise during this week!
I came here because of David Wood and I am glad that I came.
I found this very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
The seed planted in the spring will grow into a plant in the summer. I too love Being There. :)
Year 2020! Praise the Lord Jesus! ❤️💪🏼
just read the book so im looking forward to these videos.
Came here because of David Wood. And my book came today!
Through Dr. Davis Wood I've learnt about Tactic/s.
I would like to get that book in the near future.
I've been watching a few videos relating to this book
DW, thanks
Here because of the recommendation of David Wood.
Bless the Lord for this man. Thank you Sir - valuable insights and empowering!
Which lord?
Just bought the book on David Wood’s recommendation
I am also here because of David Wood.
I will buy the new one
I like the method, but one major problem is that we never know when the other person may die. It may be their last chance to hear the gospel from a Christian. So, I always give gospel tracts out in encounters.
I've done some street debates and a lot of political debates over my years. It seems like defining terms is the biggest conflict. Both sides usually assume definitions but that usually does what assuming does. This seems like a great way to skip all the guess work.
David Wood recommended you. God bless. Thank you.
David Wood brought me here as well
Doing what Jesus did so well in the gospels.
Brought the book the other day
AMEN!!!!!!!!!
So it's like being a good salesman for the truths of the bible/gospel
I was sent here by David Wood. I worry about how to talk. How do you get over people who say all religions are the same, and who will not listen when you try to explain.
I would love for you to talk to a person I know ... stubborn, dogmatic, and refuses to hear me at all.
My issue is, I am a newish Christian, and I do not know enough.
Don't worry so much about knowledge of the Bible. I've been a Christian for 20 years, and I've learned you'll never know enough to answer every question or rebut every argument. Growth is more important than maturity. As long as you're not stuck in place and keep moving forward, you'll find knowledge and experience will come with time.
When you are being honest, you don't need tactics. Tactics seem like methods to obfuscate and confuse people
I'm here because of David Woods recommendation
I bought the book Tactics
I became a Christian after realizing how much The Greatest Humanitarian Jesus Christ changed the World and gave The West this Free Prosperous Educated Generous Scientific and Greatest Civilization ever to exist on the Planet
There had to be something about what Jesus said and taught that I should know
Thank you david wood for recommending his lectures
