Nebraska and South Dakota are both beautiful states that no one knows about. Not even the residents know how beautiful their states are. Both states have an interstate that pass through some of the ugliest parts of the state ,don’t think you’ve seen all of a state from one road. Amazing job Rob, I loved the video.
I was born in Nebraska City, raised in Papillion which is near the Walnut Creek Campground you stayed at, even lived in Sioux City for a very short time ... but for most of my life I've lived in Omaha. I really enjoyed seeing so many familiar sites. I've camped all over the area, but I'll never forget driving into the Fort Randall Dam area just as the sun was setting ... breathtaking! By the way, locals pronounce Loess Hills as "luss" which is a German word meaning "loose" and it is the name of a type of soil. Thanks for another great video, Robert!
I lived in Omaha for 40 years before moving to Florida. People were telling us that we were crazy to move to Florida because it's so hot 🥵 Hahaha! We've been here for 2+ years and never got close to 100 degrees. Seeing this video proves the point that we made an excellent choice by moving. We love Florida and there is so much to do! Thanks for another great video!
It's Sunday morning, time to hit the road with Traveling Robert! I just love how green everything is as you're driving from spot to spot. Seeing the keelboat replica makes me think of the Starship Enterprise in a way--with a mission to explore strange new worlds. Wow, that spaghetti sauce looks delicious! If you ever are in the Omaha area again, the Strategic Air Command is definitely worth a visit. Until next time, happy trails!
Sounds like the expedition was the ultimate adventure. Building your own boats/ shelters, hunting and fishing for food while surveying the country getting paid. Thanks!
Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving! I have been binge watching your entire trip tracing Lewis and Clark journey all day. Now you have given us our trip for next year. We went on a mission trip many years ago to South Dakota. The Dignity Statue wasn’t there when we were there and good progress has been made on Crazy Horse, but you’ve given us some places we did not see. Thanks so much for bringing us along with you and sharing the historical information with us. Stay safe and have a great day! Love from SC, Jane❤🙏🏻
Love your part 1 of Missouri River, spirit mound, I remember going there as a child growing up SD, you are in family neck of the area. I always love visiting the visitor center at the dam. Yankton I lived there for a few years back in the 1980’s. My family live in Yankton. The bugs are bad in that area. ❤ some years the dam gaits are open for flood control. And can’t wait for your next part 2. Thank you
You should do more on St. Joseph, MO. I grew up about 20 miles from there but never did the touristy things until my niece and nephew came to visit. It has a very interesting history. Where the Pony Express started and Jesse James ended.
You crossed our path 3 weeks ahead of us! We went through Nebraska and Iowa on our way to Florida in the first days of July. We stayed in Nebraska City for two nights. Indian Cave State Park is indeed a beautiful and interesting place! I am taking notes! When my boys are a few years older we need to take this trip. Thank you Robert.
Gracias Robert for taking me & everyone else, along on your adventures! It's what I would be doing if I only could & * Thanks for going those few (many) extra miles for us!
We were in KC about a month after you went on our yearly BBQ tour. We went to both BBQ places you were at. Jack's was OK. Joe's was one of our favorite stops. I would also highly recommend Slap's BBQ. (which stands for Squeal Like A Pig) Your choice to not go into the WW1 Museum was a good one based on time. It is worth every cent of the entrance fee. But you need a good 5 or 6 hours to do your visit justice. My grandfather was in WW1 and lost a lung when he was mustard gassed so we are going to have a brick put in for him. Your camping channel is the best one on TH-cam. PS the Gelato was awesome at the Groceria Italiana.
I am really enjoying your trip! I would really like you to make this into one of your movies. They are so good. I watch them over and over again. I think these long trips are your forte.
Spent time in Omaha and Council Bluffs when traveling to and from the west coast to Indiana....Not much of a fan of the area...I do like the state of Iowa though...One thing i noticed and have taken advantage of while traveling through there several times now is they have some of the nicest rest areas around...I have no problem spending a nite at them in the motorhome...Especially nice if you have a dog...Park like settings for nice walks...Believe we have also casino camped somewhere in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area also....
Talking about locomotive...That's what I like about Dollywood...their ride on Dollywood Express with a 110 ton coal engine...the Lewis and Clark museum is pretty cool...was surprised also on how narrow the boat was...not too stable 4 feet wide loaded with stuff...
Hello Traveling Robert😊🎸🎷🍔🍔🍦🍕🍕, this was an OUTSTANDING episode following the Lewis and Clark Trail. I'm wondering if your travels lead you to the Archway Monument in Kearney, NE. Absolutely stunning terrain on this trip. I can't wait until next Sunday. AWESOME Robert👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍!
The entire region around Nebraska City-Hamburg was underwater a few years back. Interstate, towns, truck stops underwater. 6 dams. They had begged the South Dakota dams to empty out in preparation. But fishing and marinas fought it. Some said if all 6 lakes were emptied it wouldn't have held it anyway. 1993.
From what I've seen over the years, many of the campgrounds have streetlights and other forms of "light pollution" (especially the KOA types) for "safety". Has this been your experience? (It's been years since we've been able to go camping so I don't know how things are in more recent years.) Seeing the stars at night has always been a special thing for me, and it's been almost 20 years since I was able to see the Milky Way (living in central Florida with all the street lights rather makes that difficult at best). If we get to go on vacation again, I hope to be able to see the Milky Way at night!
There it is on your right if you hit pause. The old Meridian bridge, Yankton South Dakota. The scariest bridge in the world. All the northbound traffic went over the top, scaring even young strong cattle farmers. One farmer had his brother go over and stop the southbound traffic so that he could go over on the bottom part of the bridge. It's just a walking bridge now. And good riddance.

Hi, Robert, we love your channel very much and it fits our new outdoor gadgets very much. We have sent a colaboration invitation to your email. kindly check and look forward to your reply. Phoebe

Such a wonderful part of the country that many travel YT channels don’t give enough attention to. TY Robert!

Wonderful video of this area. That snake sign on the spirit mound would’ve had me turning back. 😮

Omaze should give Traveling Robert one of those vans. Great video
Excellent video Robert 👌
The location of Lewis & Clark's first council with the Indians was near the town of Ft. Calhoun, Ne., about 15 miles north of Omaha.
Terrific!
I've been away..this is great!
Thanks for the chance to win a R V !
Those white puffy things floating in the wind are from the Cottonwood tree.
Sioux City Iowa, you are 3 and a half hours away from where I live, 173 miles away!
I love your videos. ❤️
We enjoy your travels Robert. Just curious...what is the package, that looks gift wrapped, strapped in your back seat? 🤔
😁 Berkey water filter
Surprised that you have never stopped at Kenefick Park with the Union Pacific Locomotives in Omaha. There is a Big Boy on display.
Did you keep the old Colorado or did you trade it in?
Traded in
Hi Robert great video thankyou say hi to mom
Awesome video

The best place to see the stars is by boondocking out west.
I hope the Lewis and clark trip went well for you robert
Long trip takes weeks to see
Robert: You should mention how much gas cost as you go around the country while you fill up your tank.
A coffee table book “The Traveling Robert Lewis & Clark Trail
Expedition- coffee table book” I will buy it ;)
Why don't you visit the Pacific Northwest more? So much natural beauty and good places to RV.
What's the top toughest hikes you you have hiked in the US?
Angels Landing and Yosemite Falls
I thought Yosemite Falls was more strenuous. Angels Landing was more stressful.
Did you cover South Dakota yet?
Not on this trip
I thought it was very interesting, that they didn't see a coyote until half-way through the trip. Now they're all over the country.
Sprit Mound where Lewis and Clark traveled

I take it we don’t eat vegetables beyond an onion? Spaghetti and Spanish food? I would’ve chosen rice

Many small towns still have them but they are becoming more rare.
Wondering Bob is getting lazy.
Привет Роберт! Смотрю,мне интересно,спасибо!!! Привет из России! У меня тоже есть трейлер и я путешествую!
