I'm doing my PhD on italian irredentism, which is a political and cultural movement born during the 1870's in Italy that can be summarized as this thought : "The unification of Italy, the "Risorgimento", can't be over until all Italian territories have not join the Greater Italy". Born during the liberal period of the Italian Monarchy, it was reused after WW1 by Mussolini with the "mutilated victory" myth. Some of those land are Corsica, the county of Nice, Savoy, Malta, Tunisia, Dalmazia,... Some irredent lands (terre irredente) claimed before WW1 was promised to Italy by the Entente and the Treaty of London. those land belonged to Austria and only a few returned to Italy such as Trentino and Istria. Sorry if my english is bad !
you are right, Nice and Savoy were even part of Italy until 1860, when it had to be given to France as "gift" for helping against Austria. An small correction for the treaty of London, it was not all of the Entente, it was mainly France that promised more land. Other members like Serbia and the USA did not even know about that treaty, until it was published by the soviet government after the defeat of Russia. That caused an public outrage in the Entente and was the main reason they did not accept it and the USA even abandoned the Entente.

To be accurate Moldova does not have a coastline, they are wholly blocked off by Ukraine from the coast, but Moldova does have access to the Dniester which does grant them access to the Black Sea.
Also I highly doubt Poland wants any of those territories back, since they are no longer heavily populated by Poles and no longer serve any defensive purpose.
Spain did not knock off the most population in the Americas directly, in fact they were pretty tame overall, considering Spain's primary method for colonization was far different than the other powers (if you know, you know), but they did introduce smallpox to the continents first, which did indirectly knock off a large portion of the native population under their control.

Well, neither does Germany want 'their' territories back in Poland. No real reason to want them back, we all have free access to each other anyway, and at the german-polish border the polish speak german and the germans go shopping in Poland. Moving that part of Poland doesn't benefit anyone, not the german government, not the polish government, not the citizens on either side. Especially in Germany, after 30 years we are still working on really becoming one country with 'returned' that were 'gone' for less than half a century, we are already busy enough with that.

@@yomilala8929 The point was inaccurate interpretation of the data presented, the way it was phrased (I'll paraphrase here) is that "X number of deaths were caused directly by the Spanish Empire" this implies that the Spaniards took a deliberate action to cause them e.g. sticking a sword through somebody's chest.
However, the vast majority of said deaths with their territory of governance was caused by disease brought over by them e.g. smallpox, typhoid, influenza etc. and thus a non deliberate action on the part of the Spanish, I highly doubt the Spanish themselves knew they were carriers of said diseases nor would they have known the native population would both A) not have the diseases there nor B) have no resistance to them, especially given the fact this was a time long before the study of microbiology even existed. And as diseases have no sense of loyalty or allegiance and will infect anybody at any given opportunity, the death attributed to them cannot be deemed a malicious act, but rather a act of happenstance.
