    Hey Carl so i took your advice and bought myself a Merkur 34C as my first Razor! Used it today for the first time and it was great, two little nicks but not bad for my first razor shave. Great video as always!

      Ckiefer thanks buddy! If i could ask you ...how many shaves does each blade last? And i got an Arko stick free with the blades is that any good?

    • @ckiefer.0459
      @ckiefer.0459  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good question. How long a blade lasts can vary based on your beard coarseness, and the blade itself, the maker and all that stuff. A good rule of thumb is to pitch it when you notice it gets "tuggy" or starts to give irritation. Most folks get 3-6 shaves out of most blades. I typically only use a blade 2-3 times no matter what, because they are cheap. Hope that helped. Also, that Arko stick is a great soap. Some love it or hate it based on the scent, but most agree it works well. Happy Shaving.

    Please can you tell me what defects did you find? Because I've bougth two shavette and are very dangerous and full of defects and I came to the conclusion the all shavette are more or less garbage. I have expensive shavette and are very poor and dangerous and these were the more expensive I could find on the market a part the focus slim that is new. The blade moves if you touch with the nail to control if is fixed? The handle is fixed well and doesn't move if you take the razor just for the handle? Can you close the handle completely and it remaings on his housing? Ask for these beacuse are the common defects I found in all shavette! No one excluded!

    what are mostly the differences of this one and the parker SRX. I am thinking for days about one of these two.. isn't it easier to shave with the parker because of the weight? The focus slim looks nice but what else then that and beïng light.. wich one would you prefer and why?

    • @ckiefer.0459
      @ckiefer.0459  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have the SRx, but I have the SR1. I think the focus is a bit nicer, because the corners of the blade are covered. But you're right the weight makes it a bit easier. Eith one will give you great shaves. Thanks forwatching. Happy shaving.

      @@ckiefer.0459 thank you for responding and that quick haha. I am searching for one that can do the lineing of the beard very precize. Wich one would you prefere for this? The parker or focus and why. Thank you already! I enjoy watching vids of you. Quality!

      @@punisher288 Focus. The slimmer profile and lighter weight make it mor precise in my opinion

    Hey Carl. I've heard that the Slim can be finicky about blade loading for those you have broken yourself. Any thoughts there? Guess my Focus Slim should not be silver.

    • @ckiefer.0459
      @ckiefer.0459  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ronnie greher it did take me a try or two to get it loaded, but it wasn't a huge deal.

    Great shave buddy. Still looking forward to the CJB's next outting :P
    My company has a very similar PTO policy. Once we cap out at 320 hrs, we can gain any more, and start loosing. Keep up the good work on the weight loss. We all know its not easy and slow and steady wins the race.

      I love going 6 days or more without a shave, then using a really aggressive razor like an R41 or similar and enjoy watching the razor take away that beard in a swipe or two. Good fun!

    Really excellent shave Carl, you looked good with your focus , and it ploughed (plowed in the US?) through all that growth 😌👏
    Since I picked up my Dovos I'm really starting to enjoy using lightweight razors.
    Keep going with the weight loss bro, we're all behind our "top bloke" 😌👍

      Get yourself a feather handle and a straight razor for special occasions. It's an investment in comfort

    Great to hear the Arko tube creams are as good as the stick! I love the Arko stick but it's always nice to have some variety. Gillette Silver Blue, that's one of my favorites and what I in my Magic shavette. And I agree a heavier razor would be easier, but I'm still slowly but surely progressing. I did a full first pass with it for the third time last night, and my first time without any nicks that didn't stop bleeding on their own. I think I'm actually finding it easier to shave my neck, chin, and upper/lower lips with it than my sides, because I can actually see what I'm doing. Maybe start with the neck and then work my way up the sides from there. But I have a good feeling I'll be ready to graduate to an Artist Club model like the CJB you have in time to ask Santa for one this Christmas. :)
