I don't really think this is about those who cannot have kids, but more so about those who choose to get married and willfully not have kids for selfish reasons.
My wife and I were unable to have any children which at the time was obviously painful with all other friends and family seemingly able to conceive at will. We are so blessed in other areas though and now try to focus on what we do have rather than what we don’t.
It’s good you can do that, however I wonder if maybe the reason this is happening is because the Lord is nudging you towards adoption? I’d pray about it at least.
@@laurametzger851 many of us in this situation are so financially strapped from years of fertility treatments, testing, and surgeries and would love nothing more than to be able to adopt but have to wait. And some of us aren’t called to adopt at all. It’s all to God’s glory.
@@blueskies6073 we went through all the preparation for adoption, believing God for the money to adopt a child from Guatemala. It didn’t happen. We somehow missed God on this. I’m a grandmother now, but wish I could somehow help others adopt. For now, I will pray for things to change. It’s sad how much an adoption costs and every day babies are being thrown away in abortions. 💔

some say i need to stop having kids because i am poor, because they say i wont be able to provide for more kids. Yet, i question them, doesn't God's word show us he has us all planned, creates us and provides for us. So i question if they are convinced that God won't guide my life when the time comes to provide for them? should i stop having faith God will provide, stop depending on God for that, and rather take action into my own hands and lean onto my own understanding and knowledge because i should rather look at the world and my circumstances and trust myself based on what i am capable of to provide for children and stop trusting God with that? Just sounds like i would be trying to limit God from working in our lives and wanting to take the credit for myself if i successfully provide for my family based on my own decisions or even doubt God's word to be true if this is the case. Somehow that would be that we believe we have a God who took care of His people for all those years in the wilderness for decades, but somehow we can't trust God with 1 household and need to have faith in ourselves rather than risk trusting God to provide for such a smaller amount of people? After how we see God work in scripture, are we to think He is not the same anymore and will be different to us?
🔥🐍 *"Masters University"* 🐍🔥 Matthew 22:29-30 Living Bible 29 But Jesus said, “Your error is caused by your ignorance of the Scriptures and of God’s power! 30 For in the resurrection there is no marriage; everyone is as the angels in heaven.
Very sad to hear these educated me deny God’s unrevised command to “be fruitful and multiple” it’s no wonder that the local congregation is so weak and selfish.
There were literally two people on the entire planet when he said that. Be fruitful and multiply doesn't mean "I order you to have an over abundance of children and completely overwhelm yourself." So many Christian couples have done this, and they want others to follow suit because they want company in their misery.
That is not a command to all humanity to have children; lest they be sinning Your implication is that if a man does not marry, then he is inherently living in sin, because he is apparently disobeying a command given by God. You can apply biblical principle as well as the context surrounding the flood and God speaking to Noah when it comes to that verse. Not only that, but I believe God left it up for basic common sense as well, because we know that singleness is not a sin. Weak and selfish is your haste in reading a single verse without considering the context, and then further condemning people before even thinking about the topic yourself, let alone going to scripture and double checking. This cherry picking of verses to fit each individual's personal wants and desires needs to stop; there are no contradictions in the bible. If singleness was a sin, then the word of God itself would have been a contradiction countless times. Not to mention paul even talks about marriage and singleness. Both are opportunities to serve God, and again "it is good" if one is single; it was not claimed to be sinful.
All this talk and no mention of Genesis ? All christians of all denominations agreed on this topic, that christians should be fruitful and multiply, that is until the 20th century when everybody turned secular and decided that birth control, abortion and 2.1 children were okay
This is old covenant message. Paul and many apostles didn't have children. Paul said the day is near those who are married act like your not. Our priority should be salvation and not to be weighed down by the things of this world. The one who marries trues to please their spouse and not God same as a parent. If God blesses you with a child good. If not it's good also!
So do you not look to the new testament? Paul clearly states remaining single is "good" and can allow for more time to serving God. It isn't the act of not having kids that is potentially sinful, but rather than intent behind getting married and willfully not having them. With that said, I understand your sentiment about birth control, but other than that.. I cannot stand this cherry picking of verses out of context, and then in your case your disregard new testament (or don't know?) in favor of your way of thinking.
Well here you are again promoting your discourse and lies. This is a Christian video. As Christians we know we have a triune God. Made up of 3 equal parts. God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. I will pray you find the truth.
You are misleading your audience in the doctrine of marriage and child bearing. Repent. ““‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’” And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand: it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”” Matthew 15:8-11 ESV
What made you think these pastors are seeking to have authority over your life in that way ? Clearly they understand that there authority is not something to be “lorded over” the church; rather, a is to be an example of truth, love, and godliness for God’s flock to follow. (1 Timothy 4:12.) A pastor is “the steward of God” (Titus 1:7), and he is answerable to God for his leadership in the church.
This is a biblical discussion. If you are a believer, then surely you should know that we strive not to sin as to please and glorify God. God is the ultimate authority, and we are to fear and love Him, and that fear is what is meant to keep us discussing potential sin as to better serve the Lord.
Marriage is not a requirement for the Christian Life, nor is parenthood.
As someone who cannot have children, I really appreciate that childlessness was mentioned in such a thoughtful and supportive way.

Exactly. So many Christian couples followed the "quiverfull" mentality, and now they want company in their misery.
They did not mention what is the biblical principle about having kids.
Thank you both teachers for their answers. In particular, I really appreciate Mr Ferguson’s thoughtful caution.
Will Ligonier be doing anything next week to remember the 450th anniversary of the St Bartholomew's massacre?
I sure hope so! People need to know about what Christians have suffered.
