My introduction to this great man was back in 1998 when a Christian brother handed me RC's book "The Holiness of God" and said, you got to read this. What a humbling revelation of just how magnificently HOLY God is. If anyone has not read this masterpiece, I highly suggest you obtain a copy. It definitely accentuates this message given hear by Dr. Sproul.

I don’t know about you guys but when Congress prayed to the Hindu god I could almost feel the THUD of the Prophetic hour hand clicking over to the next hour.
I use to think that it could be another 2,000 years before his return but after seeing how easily we have been led around wearing masks because of COVID. I can see why people would want to see a mark on someone forehead or right wrist to know they are safe to be around. That’s the mark of the beast on people. Not to mention China’s ID chipped cards that have to be used for a plane, train, buss and to work. Combined with the persecution of the Christian Pastors... I am thinking it could be any day now. All the Technology is in place for these things to happen right now so at this point it’s just a numbers thing, the last person to be saved that is going to be saved. Once that happens...

@@user-oz5dy4rt9s Well the Bible does say absent the body and present with the Lord. Where you see Abraham bosom in there? I missed the in between part, maybe a sole sleep in the body but I don’t like that one either.

I always thought believing God with logic and mind is wrong cuz it said in the Bible to love God with all of your heart but, you know, I'm not the type of person who easily feels elevated in worship, so I often felt so much guilt for not feeling God. Then I watched this! Thank Jesus for your grace by making me watch RC Sproul! I wanna meet Jesus, this pastor and Luther lol

Yes, it is an act of our will.:). And there is one way Satan can try to manipulate you from giving blessings with if u depend on feelings or lack there of. A good example is when giving a monetary gift at times one might feel obligation. We remember scriptures says to not give compulsary. So does flesh win when you hold back questioning your own heart and motives? Scripture says our heart is deceptive so do not ask your heart and what you feel. Acknowledge this possible doubt to God right then confess if there maybe wrong in your heart asking God to cleanse this make it right and with your mind then declare what your will is to give to God what belongs to him in tithes or and or offering brought to worship Him and bless His ministry.

    • @JerynToney

It is so concerning to hear people talk about how they look forward to reuniting with people from this world when they get to Heaven.
There is only One in Heaven who will be worthy of adulation, and insofar as we will be together, it will not be to enjoy each other's company, or to meet our worldly heros, but to join a chorus in exalting Him Alone for Eternity. No one else matters. The Gospel is quite clear on this.
Take from these lives, fleeting as they are, inspiration to guide you through this short life while you are here, even love them for providing us with the example of how to worship Him, and appreciate them for guiding you along the narrow path, but never think that for a single moment that a fraction of your attention will be divided between them and God when He calls you to Him.
If you get to Heaven it will be because you are committed to giving 100% of your attention to the glory of Jesus Christ, not your spouse, not your children, not the Virgin Mary, Adam, Eve, David, Abraham... not a single person from this fallen world, but to Christ alone, who is not of this world.

I am so thankful for sharing Dr Sproul's talk on this topic as I believe it is the most important topic for every believer as it is the First and Greatest Commandment for believers in and followers of Yeshua, our L-rd and Savior.
Also, thank you for sharing Dr Sproul's talks as they are uplifting, inspiring, and draw me deeper into His Word and impart on me a newfound or deeper understanding and/or perspective that I didn't have before. It is also very nostalgic as I remember my grandmother listening to Dr Sproul on AM/FM Christian radio or on Christian cable TV networks growing up.
One of my regrets is not having the wisdom, intentionality, purpose, and appreciation of listening to Dr Sproul as I should have over the decades, and one of my blessings is having lived long enough to have discovered it through your TH-cam channel.

I think that has more to do with the lack of learning these days, both generally and in terms of the Scriptures. Preachers and teachers can’t perpetually give simple Sunday School level lessons. If we’ve been a Christian for a decade and up and struggle with a lesson like this, we haven’t been feeding our hearts and minds.

I love the Lord Jesus and have served Him for over forty years but I get angry when I see what is taaking place in this world with the lawlessness and lack of concisince taking place . My mind wants to see His judge.ent to reign in the evil and put the fear of God back into this world giving creedence to the Word and its warnings. But sadly according to His Word it will continue to get worse and worse untill the end so I reign in my mind and watch in prayer for the salvation of all believers

It's tough for these kids today. Tough for everybody, frankly. We're being bombarded by anything and everything to take our hearts and attention away from God.
You raised her right. What she knows will not leave her. Give it time and know that God will answer your prayers according to His plans.

Set your mind on Christ Jesus, with a repentant heart and leave Him, to decide what you'll leave behind.
The reason I say this, is because it is by grace through faith, that we are saved and that is not of ourself. So it isn't by works or anything we do, or don't do, but by faith alone, having believed that Jesus died for our sins once for all, and that God raised Him from the dead.
The bible says we are to believe this in our heart and confess it with our mouth, unto salvation.
So, does doing this, make it a works based salvation? Not at all, it is an act of obedience to God, the Holy Spirit, Whom, has indwelt the believer, causing regeneration of our spirit that was dead in Adam. Just like He did in the one thief on the cross next to Jesus.
We have been given a new spirit and a new heart that is not hardened toward righteousness and a renewing of the mind, which completely changes our volition. This is why a sinner would be willing to walk away from sin and follow Jesus as Lord of their life. Just like you are thinking, you may wanna do.
Judging by the comments, it sounds to me as though you are doing exactly what you said in your heart, you would be willing to do. The Lord is the One that will see the work He has begun in you, through unto completion. Which of course, will be when we meet Him face to face in our new glorified digs. Our new glorified body, I was just trying to sound cool by saying, "digs". Lol..
I purposely said it that way, to show you that we Christians are just like everyone else, in that we like to have fun, still wanna come across as cool, unique and individual or whatever our thing is, just not prideful or immoral, or anything sinful.
We live a new more abundant life inside these vessels, that is pleasing to God and brings glory to Him. This is the fruit of the Spirit. His Spirit, the Paraclete, Who is working in us, doing all of the heavy lifting and comforting us, and rooting us onward to the finish line, by encouraging and enabling us. He is also sanctifying us, which of course is setting us apart from the world around us. Making us a peculiar people, something like God's chosen people, the Jews. Only for them it was in the physical sense as they were commanded to live in a way that was so different than anyone else, that they remained separate from everyone, thus ensuring a pure bloodline to the throne of David, and our Lord and King, the long awaited Messiah or Christ Jesus, Who will reign on David's throne forever.
But, in us the elect, it is spiritual, and yes we too, are a peculiar people, in the sense that we are merely sojournors in a land that is not our own, as we are just passing through, to reach the destination that God has placed the desire for, in our hearts.
Here is the tough part, and I can tell you this without concern of you turning and running the other way, because if indeed you are elect, then you, like myself and all of the brethren will be cast, in the furnace of affliction. Notice that I didn't say "cast into", like Daniel's three buddies, who were cast into a furnace in an effort to destroy them. Rather, I said "cast in" and the reason for this, is because for us, it is not for punishment and destruction, but discipline and admonishment and through affliction, we are being perfected in Christ or you could say, being made into the image or likeness of Christ. This is achieved by our suffering, as He did. This I believe is only one of the reasons behind what Paul meant when he said, to take up our cross and follow Him, and also, work out your salvation with fear an trembling.
When we are following Christ, we are the light of Christ, to the world around us. I am not saying we are Christ. But, when people see and hear a true blue born of God Christian soldier, there is such a vast difference between them and us, that those that remain rebellious against the Lord become uncomfortable because they love darkness and all the sinfulness that goes with it. They hate the light and shun it because it reveals the truth about their wickedness and the dark sinful condition of their heart,
We need to be on our guard from attacks by the evil one, who works his craft in and through those that remain spiritually dead in Adam, as they are lost and deceived. We will be persecuted for Christ's name sake. That is one of the marks of a godly man. Just look at all that our Lord allowed, for Paul to suffer for Christ's name sake. Also let us not forget that there is a spiritual battle for the mind, taking place, and the reading of the word and prayer are where we will find some of our best defense against any accusations from the evil one, not to mention, both the word and prayer can be a quiet place of refuge, to shelter us from any of the storms we must go through in our trials.
I am confident, that the Lord has already begun a great work in you. Tonight when I head down to the lake, to spend time with the Lord. I will include all of you in my prayer.
Anyhow brothers and sisters, I love you, as do all of the brethren, as does our gracious Lord.
