With smarter technology controlling tougher, next-generation hardware, Ranger Raptor blends raw power with mechanical and technical precision to create the most advanced Ranger ever.
The main difference between the two trucks is size and power.
The F-150 and Ranger Raptors pack a twin-turbo V6 under the hood. The full-sized Raptor has a larger 3.5L motor making 450 hp. High-output engine delivering torque low in the rev range right where it counts
The Ranger Raptor has an all-new 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 gasoline engine Foptimized by Ford Performance to produce up to 392 horsepower at 5,650 RPM and 430 pound-feet of torque at 3,500 RPM.
The 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 twin-turbo engine features a compact graphite-iron cylinder block, which saves weight while providing strength for durability. Ford Performance has ensured that the engine offers immediate response when accelerating and an anti-reverse system that emerges from racing and that allows rapid delivery of power on demand.
In addition, the engine is programmed with an individual turbo compression profile for each of the 10-speed automatic transmission for optimized performance.
The Ranger to get smaller 2.5-inch diameter shock bodies, compared to the F-150.
Unlike the F-150’s 5 link rear suspension, the Ranger has a Watt’s link rear end to deliver more control across rough terrain at high speed.
Ford Performance engineers have completely redesigned the suspension. New strong yet lightweight aluminum upper and lower control arms, long-travel front and rear suspension and a refined rear axle are designed to give you more control over rough terrain at high speeds.
According to Ford, “The suspension upgrades in the Ranger Raptor make the most of the new FOX Live Valve dampers. The suspension adapts in real-time to enable exceptional on-road body control while absorbing corrugations and bigger ruts off-road with ease, ensuring maximum control and performance.”
Both Raptor trucks were built with high speed desert runs in mind. The Ranger Raptor is also a little more prepared for overlanding and slow speed rocky trails. Standard on the Ranger Raptor are front and rear locking differentials. The F-150 Raptor comes with a standard rear locking differential. An optional Torsen limited slip front differential is also available.

I'm really hoping to grab the ranger raptor when it becomes available to reserve at my local dealer. Currently own a 2011 F150 Supercrew Raptor and I'm ready to move on to newer technology and a slightly smaller truck. I love technology.
