Except Gonzalez is a better corner than Witherspoon. Plus Devon is a slot guy, if we were going to draft CB it should have been a guy who can lock down the outside

@@poocrafter2 I’m a duck fan and gonzo is great, but I think Pete knows what he’s doing. Man pulled Richard Sherman and Tariq woolen out of thin air. Plus, gonzo should have gone a bit earlier but quite a few teams passed on him so that says something. Not trying to say gonzo isn’t gonna be a baller but Witherspoon could easily be better
And we have the worst defensive line in the NFL and a mediocre offensive line. Woooo!

Absolutely, gives him a utility Defensive back playmaker that’s exactly what we need.
Per usual we pick opposite of what the normal analyst/fan would expect but very excited and optimistic
Lions were set on picking Witherspoon at 6 and we forced them to trade back.

An absolutely fantastic first round. They got my CB1 and WR1. Witherspoon was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. I did not think JSN would be there at 20, fantastic value. It feels so weird to watch the Seahawks continue to draft consensus great players instead of reaching like we were infamous for in the past.
The reach era was not a fun one 😂😂 so many great players in the league now that we passed on 🥲

I was hoping for Carter but when they drafted Witherspoon I said out loud "I'm not even mad". I kept telling everyone before the draft Witherspoon was an unreal tackling corner and CB1. Love the picks. Our secondary and Receiver rooms are 2 of the best in the league. Lots of D line still available. Great picks. Keep it up. Both of these guys could be rookies of the year.

Witherspoon is a dawg who looks for contact and is aggresive as hell, my only concern is his frame and weight. Should put on some pounds because he will not be able to lay out NFL WRs like he was doing in college
Witherspoon isn't even small lmao look at dj Reed he's 5"9 . 6ft 181pbs is fairly normal and he will grow even more.
My first thought was about his frame and weight also, but at that age they can still muscle up more, especially at a NFL camp. And hopefully that won't affect his speed. He looks like a gamer for sure.

For those of you who believed they should have drafted Jalen Carter, you weren't in the room when he visited the Seahawks. All too obviously, Carter was a major turn-off. Witherspoon + Jamal Adams will terrorize receivers, running backs, tight ends, and QBs, taking the love of football out of them. Witherspoon is much like an Earl Thomas sans mental baggage. Smith-Njigba is a wonderful gift for Geno, and also Metcalf and Lockett, as he will open up the field. Now, in the next two days, the Seahawks need to find a gigantic butt to plant in the middle of the D-line.

Penn state fan here. I was at the game we lost to Illinois in 9OTs. Longest game in CFB history. I was so confused how we lost to Illinois and how Dotson did nothing. Then I see all these Illinios guys getting drafted and now it makes sense😂 Spoon should be a MONSTER. Pete is right, the way he plays is something that hasn't been seen in a LONG time

Jaxon smith nijigba was one of the most talked about players in the draft. Seeing him in a Seahawks Jersey blew me away
Yes Den Dannon, your right about our defense front four. Last season when teams ran on us at 6 to 8 yards a pop, it hurts more than a bomb and scoring all at once. It's like teams saying "we are going to run on you", try and stop us. Being a Seahawk fan from the beginning, I don't think I've ever seen our defenseive front four get beat so badly all season.

We do need run defense but if you look into the advanced level of scheming and personnel what the Seahawks mistake was is that they used the fangio style defense last season which will always give up runs yards unless the personnel is perfect… we won’t be running that scheme style anymore which in itself will make our run defense better quite substantially…
not gonna lie i was pissed @ first…… but you gotta trust these dudes man.

I have no doubts that these two guys will improve our team in a big way. Weak link #2 was slot corner and it's about the hardest position to get elite talent. Witherspoon is that talent. JSN will significantly improve our passing game. Gotta repay Geno for that home town discount. We need a C/G somewhere to improve our pass protection. Personally, I'm for improving the pass protection with an elite blocking TE and that is Darnell Washington.
Two ways to look at it:
Positive
-John tried to trade out of both of them, wasnt able to and went BPA (on their board). They got two day-1 starters and producers and potential #1
guys at their position. Louis Riddick was raving about our picks and how we got better immediately with our picks.
Negative
- DL is your biggest need, you spend the 5th pick of the draft on a corner (one of your deepest position groups) when Jalen Carter is there who was the consesus #1 player in the draft talent-wise. Then you decided to go BPA again at 20 (maybe because Kancey was gone) but by doing so, you leave round one with N. Smith, M. Smith, Bresee and Murphy gone which is really tough
Except a WR3 isn't a starter. Not worth a first rounder by definition.
Two first round drafts in a row to set this franchise up for years to come, can’t wait for this season to begin!

I like both of these draft picks. Pete and John seem a little disappointed. I have seen them when they thought they killed a draft and this isn't it.
Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Their energy just feels a little subdued. I like the picks, but maybe they weren’t able to get who they really wanted.

I think both of their targets at both picks were taken. But they learned from past lessons and would not just trade down so they took BPA
Considering how close the clock went, something was going on. BUT John has always said in this draft they were going for the best player on the board for the team. Looks that's what they did. Exciting things going down...no?!
Yeah, didn’t they say they had some things brewing that didn’t pan out? I think that meant they were probably working on some trades that didn’t come through. When that clock started ticking below 30 seconds they had me sweating!

They need to draft Gervon Dexter Sr. He’s a Monster and they need a IDL to help stop the run and he can take being doubled up.

Why take players you don't need? We need defensive linemen, specifically DTs. Pass defenders are irrelevant if you can't stop the run, and if last season made clear anything, it's that the Seahawks can't stop the run. And still cant.

Well 2 of those guys aren’t very good.
Mone is injured and might never play again, we are way worse on DL so far this year vs last year. Keep in mind we only have three million in cape space so we need to get everything in the draft or cut someone like Jamal Adams to save caps space.
