masterfully written video about the artistic side of dark soul. its not simple escapism of reality. but an ethereal trance like experience about accepting reality and coming into terms with the end of the old world and struggling through the new seemingly hopeless reality in the corrupted dysolate ruins that still hold some its past glory. and ds1 and 2 parallels reality in how it coouldnt have been realeased in more appropriate time historically the early 2010s. whether intentionally or not miyazaki captured the tragic fall and cultural shift of the west. the east asian and western civilisations always had so much repsect for the other because they have so much in common. but the major difference is that the eastern worldview is atheistic and by consequence is in an eternal existenciel crisis and search for purpose and can only rely the strength of humanity which can be good or bad or nonexistant while the REAL west has faith in god which the biggest source of strength and inspiration and virtue with clear objective truth.
Been a bit of the post FS games funk, i couldn't get into sekiro but every other game really gave me a lot to think about during a bleak patch, i'm glad miyazaki is blessing society with his vision and hope despite his japanese heritage can find god
Excellent. That nutty Shinto fantasy fusion really offers more insight than art with only a semi-christian background, as the understanding of spiritual dominion and infection is still very real, and can therefore be realized. And boy is it realized and boy have we experienced it and boy do I still remember navigating those Anor Londo archers a decade later.
Dark Souls has the best world/level building. But the game falls off halfway into it. DS 3 is my personal favorite, it just takes a little while to get a character started which keeps me from playing it as much as I'd like to.

Dude! This is a really good video! I just started playing and am about halfway through. Hopefully, this video blows up
Hey thanks, it bombed badly ha, i think dark souls might be too saturated for a small channel to cover.
@VenomSnack nah, I just think the algorithm doesn't favor small channels these days. Keep it up, and you'll get there.

Its hard for me to pick a favorite from dark souls, bloodborne and elden ring, they're all pieces of art.
