Problem is with Illinois is, that's where the record big bucks are at. Also too I'd rather run a .45 cal muzzeloader. These new CVA paramount and Knight peregrine muzzeloaders exceed the ballistics of nearly all the straight wall cartridges. When loaded with maximum recommend charge of Blackhorn 209 with a 285gr powerbelt Elr. My point is factory modern muzzeloaders exceed the performance of straight walls. Straight wall cartridge laws are stupid and hypocritical. These slug and straight wall laws are all about power and control. Not about safety.
Wow blanket restrictive rules for a whole state based the assumption that hunters can’t regulate their own weapon effects. I’m in Australia and I feel bad for you.
I thought this was no longer valid? You can now hunt with a bottleneck cartridge of at least .30 caliber as long as the CASE length does not exceed 1.4". .300 blackout is a good example of a cartridge that is now allowed.
"A bottleneck centerfire cartridge of .30 caliber or larger with a case length not exceeding one and two-fifths inches, OR A straight-walled centerfire cartridge of .30 caliber or larger." -Per IL DNR website, so yes .300 blackout is approved, and I have to think this "exception" was made with the .300 blk in mind.
😂wtf dude? You must have the coordination of a two-year-old. If you can’t put another round in your gun quickly enough, you’ve never deer hunted have you?
IL - the state with the most schizophrenic hunting regulations :) If only single shots are allowed, then they should all be legal throughout the muzzleloader season, because effectively it's the same thing. 350 Legend, 400 Legend, 360 Buckhammer - all outperform the "illegal" 30-30 in terms of trajectory and energy. So what's wrong with the 30-30, the quintessential deer round? If you are in Chicago area, it's easier to drive a few hours into WI or IN to hunt. Whadda joke :) One unintended consequence of all these straight wall areas: they make the black rifles ever more popular for hunting and thus ever more "in common use".
So you can use a repeating slug gun but not a repeating rifle? Okay, I understand.
Welcome to Chicag... uh I mean Illinois
It all makes the same amount of sense.
Thank you for the information.
Everyone have a wonderful day. 🙂

That's so Stupid if you wound the deer he will run away before you can finish him off such a gun control measure, another reason to vote republican.

How do they get away with such stupid rules?
That is a really great question!
If everyone stopped buying licenses for 1 yr they would change their ideas real quick
It's time to vote for Trump Illinois, time to go red.
TRUMP FOR SURE! But your local leadership is the problem, not the president. Pritsker and your senate, and the corrupt judges.
What an absolute joke.
