Thanks Rus, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’d definitely love to see it restored some time. Let me know if there’s any other places around Melbourne you’d like to see in a video 🙂
Thank you George :) If I'm able to find another interesting abandoned house, would you be interested in seeing another video like this from time to time?
From what I’ve been told, the original owner was Eastern European (not sure from where exactly) and designed the house to emulate the Tsar palace from his country of birth. Clearly, plumbing was an afterthought 😂. Despite the perplexing design, I can’t believe the amount of damage that has occurred over the years. People are just evil. Great video! Thanks 👍
I didn't know the part about emulating the Tsar's palace, thanks I'll add that to the info in the description :) Yes I definitely couldn't see where the kitchen would have been, either it wasn't there or it's been completely removed. It's a huge contrast from the footage of how it used to look, and it's surprising just how much the brambles take over!
Hi Trish, that must have been a beautiful part of the world to live in, I really enjoyed the drive as I was approaching it. Was the house lived-in when you were there? It would have been interesting to see it while it was in good condition
Lived my earlier life in the local area, passing this house nearly every week. Always eye-catching in the rural setting, masses of red-brown bricks set against the greenery. I never saw the appeal in the design but knew it was a huge place. Often filled with construction vehicles in the front, it never seemed finished (evidently). I know it got used once for a paintball event, probably added to the damage. It's on a rural main road, nowhere near a town, vandals must've really wanted to get in there on purpose.
Thanks Owen. Yes it really is an unusual design, with few internal doors and a confusing room structure. For me the biggest appeal was the two large ‘turrets’, as I love castles, as well as the huge rooftop balcony. I could imagine sitting up on that top level and enjoying the view with a few friends, having a nice meal and watching the stars come out. It really is a shame to see it all smashed up, hopefully the next owners (it’s on the market) can give it some new life
I read somewhere that people who had bought the property only got around to demolishing some sheds (around 2015) but got no further with renovations. I believe it is up for sale again.
What an absolute disgrace!!!! I watch these types of videos of abandoned homes in American and uk and they are not completely trashed like this. We should be ashamed. This is just outright embarrassing
This place is so destroyed now 😓 I live close by and was lucky enough to get in there before the graffiti and when all the windows were intact. Vandals are dicks. It’s only just been purchased . Good profit for the last purchasers too!
It would have been incredible to see it while it was still looking nice. I found some footage from a news story in the early 2000s, while it was furnished, and it looked so good. I hope the new owner is able to bring it back to life :)
@@JasonsWalksthere used to be huge statues etc at the bottom, such a shame ppl ruin stuff over here. Japan is the most amazing place I’ve been to in terms of abandos, there’s a few amazing ones out this way.
I'll definitely have to get to Japan some time then! Do you have any recommendations of other good places that would be suitable for a video like this? You probably can't share the exact location, but any clue at all would be a great help :)
@@JasonsWalks we explored abandoned love hotels and an castle themed onsen on our first day landed in Narita, you don’t even need to look for them. Umm I know of a fantastic one but it’s so untouched I’d hate to see it end up like this place ☹️
I've come to the conclusion that graffiti vandals weren't loved or given enough attention as a child, so they have sprayed ridiculous names on walls to gain some sort validity. When you see a place like this, it's a shame to see idiots disrespect a property to the degree they have. Great video though.
That’s an excellent theory Damonicus, I definitely can’t understand the desire to destroy things like this. It’s found some news footage from 10 years ago, it used to be such a beautiful house
Yeah I don’t understand it either, it’s a shame people can’t just wander around and enjoy the place. I’m glad you liked the video, let me know if you think of anywhere else you’d like to see a walking video of, I’m usually around Melbourne 🙂
Would you like to see walking videos through more interesting abandoned places?
Yes keep em coming!
Yep
@@rogermouton2273 thank you!
Yes, please. There are a lot of old, abandoned farm houses that would be interesting and mining villages, too. 😊
Go to the abandoned police station in sale York street
Damn you picked a great day to do this on. Super creepy vibe!

Awesome it's rare to find Australian Abandoned Exploring.
Thank you Gamer Cat, yes this place is truly unique, and I loved the setting with the mist in the background 🙂
You might also enjoy a channel called The Frightened Explorer; he covers a lot of abandoned houses throughout Victoria, Australia
Can't wait for the next Exploration!
Thank you very much Jenesis, the next walk will be to a lighthouse in Port Fairy 🙂
Very calming! Subscribed.
Thank you Heels, it’s great to have you along for the journey. Let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see in a video 🙂
This may have been abandoned, bbut the damage done is absolutley appalling.
Yes I agree; it still belongs to someone, and it’s such a beautiful building. Such a shame to see
Hey Jason. My family and I used to live about 300 metres away from that house. It was always a mystery and an eyesore.

@@shellyoss8754 in that case, you live in a beautiful area of the world! I loved the mountains that I drove past on the way
Do you know what happened to the other house that was down the front of the property and the huge shearing shed that was there.
I know it was still there in 2015 from footage in a channel 7 news story, but that’s the last reference to it that I’ve found so far.

I agree Miranda, it used to be such a beautiful home. It's concerning to know there are people in the community who go around and do this
really? graffiti looks awesome 💯

Is it for sale ?
Yes, it’s currently on the domain website for $1.1M Australian
