Fun Fact: the Creek Indians used ironweed stalks as a basket weaving material. It's one of the most dense, thick weed stalks out there.

are there any plants that repel ticks?

    •  8 ปีที่แล้ว

+Ibpn I had just read that some Chrysanthemums have a chemical called pyrethroid that is extracted from the flowers and is related to the insecticide permethrin. I'm not 100% sure if Oxeye Daisy, Chrysanthemum leucanthemum, has that chemical or not but it has been used to repel and kill fleas. I use permethrin on my field pants and have had some good results repelling ticks. There are a lot of plants that are supposed "repel" a lot of different insects, but so far I personally haven't had the best of luck with them. Even when I sit next to a citronella plant and rub the plant onto expose areas I still get eaten up. I wish I had the funding to do some real scientific experiments on each of these plants so we can get a more conclusive understanding of each ones potential. Oh, and I haven't forgotten about that tree we've discussed. I'm looking into Pawpaw's at the moment but I'm not finished doing the research. You left me with an interesting puzzle to solve my friend. ;) Here is a link to Oxeye Daisy: plighttofreedom.com/oxeye-daisy/
