I have used a minnow trap, dog or cat food can poked full of tiny holes for bait. These bait fish are not as large as what you are catching but works. good.

I've been trying rigs in preparation of my fall florida vacation and I have trouble getting my doubled-over line through the eyes of the hook on my dropper rig. I've turned to tying the morticians rig because of that. Are there brands that have larger eyes than others?

It depends on what your targeting for but you should try to go with a smaller diameter line like 15 or 10 pound test, that might solve your problem

Eagle claw hooks have large eyes. That's what I use for that rig

Usually along the shore of beaches. I don't see them in large schools and they usually just hang out with pinfish.

Theyre pretty common around the piers up here in NC

Sand bars along the islands or clunkers is where I find them around NSB to Edgewater.

Why not just tie a drop shot rig?
