Dusty: “thank you”.
There’s no better way to say something is delicious than that!
I like to take a bag of frozen Italian meatballs and trow them in the crockpot with Prego and cook them until they are super tender. Then put them on the food table with with slider buns for mini meatball sliders. They are always a hit!
smart
❤love love love this idea!
Also, try the homestyle ones in brown gravy OR in white pasta sauce & one packet of brown gravy mixed. Yum!
We did both for my daughter's diy wedding reception years ago.
Thanks!
Treat others the way I want to be treated.
Breydon and Dusty are the same- when they REALLY like a dish they both close their eyes like they are in culinary heaven 😋😁👍🥪
Hi Brooke and everybody, you can also make the meatballs with a can of cranberry sauce and about a cup of your favorite BBQ sauce. Brown sugar, and vinagar.
And add some cocktail wieners and pineapple chunks
@@mysticmom616 sounds delicious!!!
Bonita, that’s how I make my meatballs too. Delicious!
That sounds delicious ❤
My mom used to make a cheese ball with a grated white medium firm cheese mixed with cream cheese and chopped chipped beef that came in a jar (mom would soak the beef in cold water, with like 2 water changes and let it dry before using). Mom added a bit of Worcestershire sauce to the mix. That was a yummy cheese ball. One relative used to make a cream chese and crushed pineapple cheese ball, that was surprisingly tasty and different. My Aunt made the cheddar one that was rolled in crushed walnuts or pecans. I had one once that was a pimento cheese cheese ball, yum! It had shredded cheddar cheese, crean cheese, mayo, a tiny bit of sugar, a tiny bit of vinegar and a small jar of chopped pimentos. Drain and towel off the pimentos to remove some of their liquid. The cheeseball I had like that was rolled in toasted plain bread crumbs but I bet it would be great rolled in finely chopped blanched almonds.
I used to buy cheeseballs at the grocery store for weekend TV snacking, I liked the port wine one with nuts on the outside, my husband liked the cheddar one with walnuts. We'd eat a whole cheeseball each over the weekend, we were young and skinny way back then. Lol
My very bratty younger sister called me last night specifically to tell me she was eating a crab dip cheese ball with some fancy little bread rounds, she's obviously the evil sister.
My favorite was Swiss wrapped in nuts or the port wine!.
In the 70s and 80s when those crockpot meatballs were brought to almost every gathering involving food there were so many different versions of the chili sauce recipe and they were really good. The brown sugar was omitted and jelly and preserves used for the sweet component. I remember liking the versions made with grape jelly, orange marmalade, pineapple preserves, peach preserves and the apricot preserves. I obviously liked the fruity versions. Chili sauce, ranch dressing (bottled or the powdered) and orange marmalade makes an awesome chicken glaze, add a side of rice to put extra sauce on and a green veggie and that is a good meal!
We make 2 different versions for our Christmas Eve buffet. The guys like the meatballs with grape jelly and A1steak sauce and I prefer the ones made with grape jelly and chili sauce. I detest A1 steak sauce with every fiber of my being but the guys would drink that stuff straight out of the bottle. 😂
I’ve never heard of that chicken glaze! I may try that!
I think the chili sauce & brown sugar taste better than adding jelly to the chili sauce. I tried the jelly & cranberry sauce with chili sauce & thought it was too sweet & just didn't like the taste. The brown sugar adds just the right amount of sweetness. Thanks for the recipe Southern Frugal Momma!
We have snack foods Christmas nite at mommy and daddys we all are dressed in our pjs. Play games visit and we all stay all night. I love it
The meatballs are really good .we use pretzel sticks to eat them with instead of toothpicks and works well with the little winners also . Just eat the whole snack pretzel and all
GENIUS!!
I've always done finger food. Now my 3 adult children do the same. Also my adult grandkids follow the tradition. We play board games, do jig saw puzzles and crafts with the Young children. Some watch Christmas movies or football. In the afternoon we go out for taking turns target practice. Very relaxed day. Normally I don't use disposable dinner ware. This day we do. It's time after the holiday bustle to spend it with family. Since we are rural bon fire at the burn pit and s'mores at the mini pit. Weather permitting in the Nebraska Panhandle. Love your recipes. Love your family. You guys are a hoot.
Okay so I cook in my 17 inch skillet too 😂 people come over and I whip out a pan fit for the army and I get some looks. It’s heavy!! Haha I love it though. It turns the stove into a cast iron sheet pan essentially. 10/10 recommend to anyone. Lol
cheese dip - YUM ! I do 32 ounces of Veleveeta cheese brick in a crockpot. Pound of hamburger drained. Can of diced jalapeno peppers. Can of Rotel HOT diced tomatoes or just petite diced tomatoes or even fresh chopped tomatoes. Cook on low. Stir and stir until melted. Been making this for over 40 years. My momma's cheese dip. Love all your recipes. I'm a Colorado gal and we like things HOT, LOL. Add fresh serranos, jalapenos. All I know is it is a super hit at every party, every get-together. Thank you for your variation ! You ROCK !
We always added a bit of vinegar to empty out sauce bottles.
Similar recipes include Ketchup/Chili Sauce/BBQ Sauce and Grape Jelly. Can be done with meatballs or cocktail wieners. Always a kid favorite!
What my aunt use to make. It was so good. Do you know how much grape jelly you add?
I believe it's a one to one ratio or there about. My mother used similar size jars, a quick search shows 12 oz of chili sauce to 10 oz of grape jelly.@@robinholbrook8296
the recipe i use has 12oz. of grape jelly@@robinholbrook8296
My recipe is 1 can cranberry sauce, 1 jar chili sauce and a squeeze of lemon juice. So good
@karatush3085 I love this recipe! I worked for a catering company that made them this way and everyone always went crazy over them.
Hi Dusty. When you told Brooke she with hold's the dip from you, and Brooke said it was for special occasions, you should have said " every day is a special occasion with you darling/love" (or whatever term of endearment you prefer). Maybe then she would make it more often for you.
Hay Brooke, you certainly have some appreciative eaters in your house. Dusty and Bradon's (hope I got spelling right) faces say it all. All those dishes look amazing.
Much love and respect from the South of England. xxxxx
🤣
Breyden lol 😂 thanks for these ideas! Yummy! Oh and for the tip to put the frozen meatballs in the oven first, had no clue!
You could roll the cheese ball in sliced almonds, to coat the outside with nuts. That would be good too.
Something eh? Even parsley or finely grated cheese would make it look more finished
Dusty and Brayden are so similar in how they enjoy your cooking ❤ really makes me smile, Brooke. All those recipes looked wonderful
How fun ~~ these are OUR favorites too!! Well, except instead of meatballs we have little smokies. I'll have to try the little meatballs, I think the guys would love them too!
I want to tell you our version of cheese dip. We use 1/2 pound of hamburger & a 1/2 pound of sausage (mild or hot), browned, cream of mushroom soup, box of velveeta. A large jar of salsa. We prefer chichis but other brands will do. Throw everything in the crockpot and cook on low until everything melds together then turn to warm. If your crockpot runs hot watch it closely. Please try this version and let me know what you think. Every event we have it at, it disappears 😊
Ohhhhh I like the sound of that!
Whoa, this sounds good😋
The cheeseball is similar to one we made in the 80’s. Cream cheese budding beef and green onion.
Yes, and we add a couple scoops of french onion dip to make it smoother so it doesnt break your chips or crackers.
We always used Dried Beef for the cheese balls.
In new mexico your hamburger dip is called queso, but we put a little more cheese, can use hamburger or sausage, use rotel or green chili dip or taco sauce is fine. Usually made in crockpot
My family does a melty cheese, Rotel, sausage version.
Wooster rhymes with rooster shire sauce. It’s made with anchovies. That’s pretty much exactly how I make my sliders. The exception is that I always use real butter. Quality makes a difference. I really enjoy seeing your family test stuff. It’s so real. We have what you call hamburger dip at least once a month. Any leftovers become part of a Mexican soup or get turned into a sloppy Joe sandwich. I’m disappointed that you didn’t make sausage cheese balls. Those are my favorite. It’s always fun watching your videos. Enjoy your Christmas party.
When you want finely diced onion, try grating it on a large hole grater. It will meld into any dip!
Good evening lady 🎉! Finger foods will be served next week @ our apartment Christmas 🎄 meal 🎉!
My frozen meatball go-to is brown gravy mix prepared with about 1/4 less water and half and half for the other 1/4 (added at the end). Surprisingly delicious.
I really want to try those sliders. They look yummy!!
Me too!
Thanks for sharing these recipes. We have various gatherings for the holidays I want to bring appetizers for. BTW, have you ever considered making a video of how you care for your cast iron? Your cast iron pan always looks perfect!
When I make the taco dip I use can of rotel and velveta.
Same here, and we just call it Rotel dip! So good,
My family does the same with sausage. I like the idea of hamburger though.@@user-ge8mb6jz9b
Thanks for these yummy looking recipes Brooke ! If y’all enjoy pineapple add some crushed and drained pineapple to the last dip with ham, cream cheese snd onion , the pineapple is delicious with ham , onion and cream cheese!!
Yes! I make a similar one with green onion, green peppers and pineapple added. Worcestershire sauce instead of salt adds great flavor too. Oh and I like to add chopped pecans for more texture. Yum!
Pineapple for sure!
Little smokies wrapped in bacon and sprinkled with brown sugar are a family favorite.
I make this- it’s awesome. But I dump, rather than sprinkle, the brown sugar.😋
I make them by the pan full!! Cookie sheet with sides, line them all up, pack brown sugar over the whole thing. Bake till bacon is cooked, transfer to a crockpot, sauce & all. Put on low and watch them disappear! The co-worker that told me about these years ago called them CRACK WEENIES. Once you've tried them you'll know why!! Just NEVER use cocktail weiners. Ya gotta do Little Smokies!!
Try grape jelly in them too with your chili sauce & shes right yall..baking them first makes them so tender!😊
Those look yummy! I do a lazy version of your hamburger dip. I take a can of whatever chili you like and add in a block of cream cheese. Melt (microwave works) and serve with tortilla chips. 💖
Yes. This is the dip we used to have when I was a kid.
Great & easy recipes!! Thanks!! Hope y'alls Christmas is a good one!!!👍🎅🎄🎁🌟💞
My family enjoys my layered bean dip (taco). Homemade refried beans with layers of taco stuff. Mini corn tortilla chips by the bag for dipping.😊
Perfect video for me. We’re considering doing a finger food Christmas! 🎄💕
We don't eat meat, but I make falafel and treat them as meatballs in a tomato sauce or as you would treat any meatball. EXTREMELY cheap and once coated in v sticky sauces/condiments/bolognese type sauce, even my carnivore sons love them (it's the sauce taste and texture).
You can do the hamburger dip with vegetarian chili and velvets or cream cheese.
@@tenthousanddaysofgratitude Ooh yes that sounds good. Thanks
Good afternoon! Looks good 😋
I make similar... Rotel dip. Rotel, Velveeta, sausage and ground beef. So good!
I make a cheese ball with dried beef found on the canned meat aisle.
I will definitely be making some of these, they look absolutely delicious, bless you and bless your family during this holiday season and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas
When Dusty really REALLy likes something he closes his eyes !
What a great idea finger food party
I never liked frozen meatballs until I tried the Angus beef meatballs. They are phenomenal! They taste flame broiled as well.
Becuz they use liquid smoke
Where do you find the Angus beef meatballs
Merry Christmas to you & your amazing family!! Love your videos!!💛🙏☕️🎄
Merry Christmas!!
We do grape jelly and bbq sauce meatballs...i can NEVER find the chili sauce when i want it! Lol i have even used canned cranberry sauce in place of the jelly in a pinch! ( cuz thats what we do here right?) Lol my kids like them.over mashed potatos for dinner!
To bad you don't live next door to me. I love your recipes and you too.❤
delicious! I love to make smoked almond covered sharp cheddar cheese balls
Oh! Can you share your recipe? Sounds yummy!
Hey Brooke, Loved your appetizers for your get together dinner. Much prefer this to a formal sit down dinner. Hugs
Absolutely love finger foods. Eazy-peazy
Hi!! Love your videos. Thank you
Your light up trees are so so sweet too🎄🎄🎄
I love all of these ❤
Delicious recipes I'm gonna make the hamburger dip and meatballs 😊
3 to 5 ingredients are right up my alley!! Dusty's like you with hold it from me.... Men crack me up. Interesting! I managed a Deli in a grocery store in the 1980's we made cheese balls. but none with meat in them. You know when Dusty really likes it. he closes his eyes. and so does Brayden.
I also do meatballs with sweet chili and grape jelly 😊 good stuff❤
All these are great!! I like to use Rotel in the Velveeta cheese dip and chipped beef in the cheese ball!! Yum, can't wait for xmas snacks!!
Same to both!
Who all remembers "Everything's better with Blue Bonnet on it" ?
Char is flavor baby 😃 I love the oven first step 😃
Amazing and interesting simple recipes. I Love those ideas. All yummy 😋
We're doing finger foods too. I'm making deviled eggs, but I'm also gonna make that cheeseball! 💝 Yum!
Hope you enjoy
I make a cheese ball with onion bell pepper and crushed pineapple and I roll it in sunflower seeds
That sounds really good! I think I’m going to do that, but swap it out for jalapeños, I love jalapeño and pineapple together!
🤣🤣watching them eat is so funny. I will have to try these!!
All of these look so good.
Thank you for this.
I love those finger foods.
You’re great at coming out with great ideas/ recipes.
With my hamburger dip I use no bean chili instead of taco sauce. I do a cheese ball 2 budding beef, large philly cheese, 2 tbsp accent. Just different variations. 😊 yum
What size bag of meatballs do you recommend for 3 people? Having several other finger foods as well as fudge, mini pecan pies
@@sandrahicks4450 I bet a family size would be fine.
lmao the way dusty side eyed you when he said you withold the yummy beef cheese dip! 🤣🤣🤣
My mom learned a great dip at church, rotel spiced tomatoes, sour cream and sausage, add cream cheese, so yummy! Love these, keep ‘em coming! Love from Virginia 🥰. Also love your ceramic knife, just bought one and looove how it cuts!!!
Sliders look awesome
I just have to say, you have the best videos EVEEER!!
i do a chili sauce with cranberry sauce for my meatballs, cocktail weenies or kilbassa (smoked sausage) ive one it with grape jelly, bbq sauce and spicy mustard but the cranberry is by far my fams fav...Also how is Ryders arm?? Merry Christmas from my Fam to yours
Ohhh I forgot about the kielbasa option. That's really good because you can coin them, brown them prior to placing in the crockpot and let the glaze really reduce to a caramelized heaven.
I do my cheese ball with the budding beef green onions a teaspoon of steak sauce mix together roll in chopped pecans if you want. It is so so good. U can also add a little crushed pineapple when u mix it. Try it sometime let me know what you think
Mmmmmm, appetizer dinners are the best! ❤
Yum, we make ground beef dip, too!
We do chilli sauce & jellied cranberry for our meatballs. Some people use grape jelly instead of the cranberry sauce. Also we call those ham sliders funeral rolls 🤷♀️
Was watching your videos again from a year ago and the boys are growing up so fast! Can see the change. Momma, they grow up way up too fast!
I make a similar Cheese Ball but I use dried beef in place of your ham. I'm sure Dusty would love it that way and you definitely don't need to add salt then! My birth mom also adds pineapple to hers. Great video I definitely need to try the hamburger dip I make a dip where you spread cream cheese then top with Taco sauce and veggies of choice I usually use onion, tomato and lettuce but some go crazy with olives and extra cheese but it's my favorite appetizer for parties since it doesn't need heated and you can just munch all night 😂🤣😂
Oh lord him and dried beef lol the way he was over SOS when I made it 😂 he’d be in heaven!
your hair is looking great--I love the blue/green glasses too! dts/usa
Thank you for sharing these recipes, they all look great. I am going to make the hamburger dip for my family for Christmas.
I make that same cheese ball. I just normally use green onions. It’s always a hit!
Will have to try!
Love all of the recipes and I have made versions of all 4 over the years. One thing I always add to the hamburger dip is one pound Jimmy Dean sausage (I brown it with the hamburger) and double the Velveeta, we call it Monkey Dip, lol. And the ham and cheese slider sauce is made with "warsh yer sister" sauce, 🤣. Thanks so much for sharing!
Brook, FANTASTIC!!I will be making these, for sure 💕🙏🙏
They all look sooo good Brooke.👍🙏☃️🎅🏻
Love your videos, Brooke. You put a smile on my face ALWAYS!
I covet your red & white bowl!
Gorgeous!
You mentioned in one of your latest videos that you like your nightgowns, so do I, I have close to 65. But now that I saw your temu haul imma thinking I need to try em.....😊
For get the dip I would put that sauce in a pot of macaroni.❤😊
These look amazing!!! Thank you for sharing, Brooke. ❤
Heck fire, I would put those chili meatballs in a hotdog bun and have them for supper anytime of the year.
If I wanted to make the first one a meal would it be good with broccoli and served over rice?
Why not? Broccoli goes great with meatballs. I saw someone else say they serve meatballs on mashed potatoes. I imagine rice would soak up the sauce like potatoes do. A meal of it sounds great. Let us know how it turns out!
I love how they love the food you make. Makes me want to try everything you make on here. Another great one.
Everything looks so yummy and easy to make I'll definitely give them a try especially for New Years Eve ❤
I love finger foods for events also!
Nothing like having a plate of party foods. These look delicious!!
Yes!!! I love making those ham sliders whenever i can
Loved this video I love party foods ! ❤
My family’s fave easy hors d’œuvres are bbq baby smokies.
Just 2-3 packs baby smokies, brown sugar, and bacon. Couldn’t be easier.
Make sure to cut bacon in thirds or it won’t cook all the way. They are SO good!! Tip; moisten the brown sugar with water or melted butter so it costs the outside of the smokies better.
Bet Ruben sliders would be good too
Awesome recipes, thanks Brooke 👍❤️👍❤️👍
Those are our favorites too, yummy & addicting! 😊
Mmmmm all those recipes look awesome..gonna try for sure!
They ALL look delicious!!
