A new Pat The NES Punk episode and a new AVGN episode in the same week??? What a treat. Thanks for the new episode Pat, I've been looking forward to it since Christmas.
I heart the shit out of the Mystical Ninja games, never tried anything pre-SNES though via translated roms but still, they look damn neat from what you showed
The tribute to Justin Carmichael is so appreciated. He got me into collecting Famicom and Super Famicom titles, too. It's still such an underrepresented niche in North American retro gaming to this day (on TH-cam and in real life) and it's a real shame. So much fun there to be had at extremely reasonable prices (for the most part). No Japanese needed a lot of the time. You should totally do a video on Holy Diver. I picked up a copy at PRGE (the same place I bought your book off you!) and just got around to beating it for the first time last week. It's quickly become one of my favorites on the Famicom. Tough but fair with an awesome demonic 80s heavy metal theme.
I remember the Famicom from childhood, the NES was very expensive in Costa Rica, so the Nintendo console for the average Joe was the Famicom, we called it the the Japanese NES. I didn't owned one but a bunch of friends on school did and remember going to their homes to play Mario and things like those, thank you for this video brought back a few memories even thou you don't have the actual console :) .
I think my head would explode if I stepped into Pat's room because of all the collectibles. I wouldn't know what to look at first. Did he get an estimate of the total value of his collection yet? I bet the value is epic. I wonder what or if he has anything in his collection from his childhood like the Nerd does (James has his NES controllers and such).
Mrs. Yellow_Ledbetter he has a bunch of videos talking about his collection, you should check them! Although I think they are kinda old... i guess his collection is bigger now ^^
pat the nes punk and avgn release videos on the same day, sweet. famicom multicarts sounds like an interesting episode too, i have a 76 in 1 famicom multicart, and a power-joy pj-008 multicart that came with one of those n64 controller looking famicom emulators
Also astro fang basically is rad racer, the car in astro fang is the sprite for the 1987 ferarri 328 twin turbo from rad racer, just in astro fang the sprite has been recolored to grey and white.
If you open the honey bee and take out the card where the carbon buildup is you can lightly rub a white eraser against it softly and the carbon comes right off.
same day as new AVGN was posted up, hmmm is this more than a coincidence??? lol just joking, I really don't care just pumped to see a new Pat the NES Punk video!
Found me a Mario 3 one for cheap. 5 hats. Also a Tetris one. Holy cow! What a different experience. Especially the controls. 10 hats for that one. The music on it is the $#¡+!
When I saw the year on that second goimon game I was like woah 4 years before I was born and they were still making cartridge games hmm you learn something new every day.
Pat, please try to get 168 in 1 multicart - it's really one of the best multicarts ever created. Pepole from Poland will remember that cartridge for sure, because Famicom clone Pegasus was a lot more popular than the NES.
Pat youre a weirdo. Congratulations, keep it up! would love to see a return of your randomness in C.U.P, and looking forward to some more Flea Market madness. P.s loved your orginal faces when rating the offers from the swap meet sellers
I just started collecting Famicom carts and was able to get the Mighty Final Fight cart off Ebay for $19.99 as opposed to paying over $100 for the NES cart. I finished the game with Haggar in almost no time at all. I would have been pissed had I spent $100 on the NES version.
Yeah, some games are cheaper in their Famicom versions... Though some are cheaper in their NES versions, too. I got Rockman 1-6 for about what Megaman 1 usually sells for online... But Famicom Battletoads? That one's pretty expensive usually. Of course NES games at flea markets are probably much cheaper than anything online... (I just wish Gimmick weren't so expensive!)
I get the feeling the screaming at a beach gag is a reference joke, but I don't get it. Also, like everyone else, I also miss J.W. I didn't watch all his video's, but I loved everything I saw him in.
Although it's not a common case, sometimes the Japanese version will end up being better than its U.S. counterpart, despite having less memory available. "Magical Doropie" was re-released in North America as "Krion Conquest", but with numerous cut scenes removed, and the "Continue" feature removed. I understand the reason for removing the Continue feature, but I never approved of the other changes at all. I'm pretty sure these changes were done simply to make the game on cheaper carts with less memory on them.
There are definitely some interesting Japanese exclusives. I have switched over to collecting Famicom games now as they are easier (and cheaper) for me to get. Only recently have been able to play them after getting a model II Famicom i.e. top loader.
Well, all the Famicoms were top-loaders... But yeah, I have the model 2 Famicom (the "AV Famicom") and I love it. When I got it I had been thinking of doing the Playchoice PPU mod on it... Though at this point I think I'd prefer to put a cartridge slot in a Playchoice rather than murder it to enhance my Famicom.
Pat might not be the most entertaining youtuber but his incredibly bad jokes and his overall awkwardness gives him a certain charm
Awkward in a good way, I really like pat he seems to be a true friend to his friends and all around good person.
I took my eyes off the screen for two seconds and Pat already found a tortilla chip on the floor. Don't even blink when watching that punk.
awesome vid, Pat. and a beautiful tribute to Justin, both at the end, and with the Wario caps as a ratings system. Well done!
Thanks Pat that was a great tribute to Justin!
Rest in peace, Justin. And thanks Pat, for another great episode of the NES Punk!
A new Pat The NES Punk episode and a new AVGN episode in the same week??? What a treat. Thanks for the new episode Pat, I've been looking forward to it since Christmas.
Great overview of these games, and a wonderful tribute to Justin? Great stuff as always, Pat.
A very entertaining video, as always. I absolutely adored that this was a tribute to Justin, kudos sir. Very classy, you've leveled up, in my book.
I heart the shit out of the Mystical Ninja games, never tried anything pre-SNES though via translated roms but still, they look damn neat from what you showed
I'm the same way, however the SNES version was always getting replay value from me throughout the years.
we loved Justin. . .loved the hats too, Pat!!
The tribute to Justin Carmichael is so appreciated. He got me into collecting Famicom and Super Famicom titles, too. A real punk video, a real Nerd vid and a real Living in 8 bits plus fresh v sauces all on the same night!! Awesome!
Awesome little tribute vid, Pat. Thanks for making this.
great video pat :) and thank you and ian for your contributions to the retroware memorial stream last Saturday.
I really enjoyed this video Pat. Great tribute to your friend.
Ahh scary mexican food! xD
“frowny parted hair man, and the quest for the golden squeeze toy” im really weak .
So many good moments in this video, loved it pat! One of my favorite punk videos
Love goin back in the past through your videos! Keep it up!
That was genuinely touching. A fitting tribute to your friend.
R.I.P. Jewwario
I think the music for 1942 might be Morse code for SOS but I'm not sure, still sounds like a Hyena swallowed a whistle 😂
I love this video for some reason, just feel it does something special. Don't know what it is but it is quite enjoyable.
perhaps
I agree. He certainly is missed.
Saxcat20 Let's Plays it's his best video for me. I don't know, i think pat sense of humor really work here
7:14
Hey, it's Snarf from the Thundercats. :D
Pat, you rock. And I think Justing would be proud of your lucky skills getting the first two Goemon games! :D
The first Mystical Ninja game seems a lot CowBoy Kid! Like.....really similar.... Loved the new video Pat!
I think my head would explode if I stepped into Pat's room because of all the collectibles. I wouldn't know what to look at first. Did he get an estimate of the total value of his collection yet? Haircut time, Pat? Ha!

FROWNING PARTED HAIR MAN AND THE QUEST FOR THE GOLDEN SQUEEZE TOY! LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
0:41 IS THE MOST TERRIFYING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN.
bullshit. you came.
Loved it. Can't wait for more. Keep up the amazing work.
lol Pats face on the cart. Oh man thats funny.
Pat grows and cuts his hair unusually fast.
Cheers for showing us these Pat ! Great vid :-)
Great episode and a beautiful tribute!
Nice, I could count Pat's dental cavities
I ate a lot of Hostess as a kid.
Pat the NES Punk
Dude looks like you still love candy! Have you ever heard Famicom\\Fountains?? Wicked trippy music! LOL
+Hanz Netscape Your screenname makes me lol uncontrollably.
lol.....really...you looked in his mouth to see cavities then commented about it. and said nice like you discovered something awsome.
I only saw 3.
"hehe... get it? .... Dick reference?"
I fucking lost my shit and laughed so hard for like a minute straight haha. Good shit.
Loved this! Such a good tribute.
First the stream, now this? You're a class act, Pat.
Hey now, Mexican food can be rather scary sometimes. Pepto will be your friend.
Them flying tortillas. :O
Awesome episode, Pat.
Pat you have to be the only guy in the world that has the same werewolf hair as myself
it sucks to lose a very close friend!, I feel for ya brother, hopefully he is in a better place!!!
Finally; another Punk episode! Awesome!
7:14 Snarf, is that you?
Ganbare Goemon is completely playable. You only need to find 3 passes in each level to get to the next level. He just didn't know how to play.
If you open the honey bee and take out the card where the carbon buildup is you can lightly rub a white eraser against it softly and the carbon comes right off.
half of them I played when I was in japan when I was a kid. brings back so many memories...
too bad you can't play goemon rpg lol
same day as new AVGN was posted up, hmmm is this more than a coincidence??? lol just joking, I really don't care just pumped to see a new Pat the NES Punk video!
Coooooool Pat! Legend of the mystical ninja is one of my favorite SNES games. good to see its predecessor
Just one more Punk video and I'm going to bed...
+lilturk726 Just one more episode!
Found me a Mario 3 one for cheap. 5 hats. Also a Tetris one. Holy cow! What a different experience. Especially the controls. 10 hats for that one. The music on it is the $#¡+!
Pat looks like he's about to cry at the end.
Hooray Pat's back!
For the honeybee converter, just switch the circuit with one of a similar adaptor
You should do more Famicom games. The rarer the better.I'm sure there are some relatively unknown games out there that never left Japan.
nice steam powered giraffe reference. and you're both in san diego so you could use the same location. neat!
At least you don't play Makaimura (Ghost'n Goblin on NES) cuz unlike the NES version, there is no continue on this game
When I saw the year on that second goimon game I was like woah 4 years before I was born and they were still making cartridge games hmm you learn something new every day.
That Astro Fang car looks a lot like the green car from Top Gear on SNES
A beautiful quaint tribute to jewwario. Thanks Pat! Keep up the awesome work.
7:25 "Volguard II: Electric Boogaloo" Best/Worst title to a sequel movie/thing ever
Nice reference to Steam Powered Giraffe with that Honeybee
Astro Fang looks amazing. Its like rad racer with bosses and upgrades. Looks like ill be emulating that shortly.
I wish i could go to the beach everytime i scream for my damaged videogames :(
at the beginning, was that the same rock/beach that Steam Powered Giraffe did their Honeybee music video?
It would be very awesome if Pat did this semi reg. Get some more fami carts Pat. Go on son.
I cry violently at the beach transition
Great Famicom Honeybee drama! XD
I need to learn that beach trick.
Pat, please try to get 168 in 1 multicart - it's really one of the best multicarts ever created. Pepole from Poland will remember that cartridge for sure, because Famicom clone Pegasus was a lot more popular than the NES.

Hmm surprised Capcom never released a self-loathing game called "Nuke the Nips"
Pat's new name is Kiaunu.
Super!
Pat, my brother cracked a smile.
Great Job Pat,as always enjoyable!
7:15 ITS SNARF!!!!!
And Pat killed him.
I like this game already!
I got Son Son on Famicom, sheerly because I liked Son Son, the character, from Marvel vs. Capcom 2 :3
I just started collecting Famicom carts and was able to get the Mighty Final Fight cart off Ebay for $19.99 as opposed to paying over $100 for the NES cart. I finished the game with Haggar in almost no time at all. I would have been pissed had I spent $100 on the NES version.

(I just wish Gimmick weren't so expensive!)
7:13 - holy shit - is that Snarf? That enemy is totally Snarf.
I get the feeling the screaming at a beach gag is a reference joke, but I don't get it. Also, like everyone else, I also miss J.W. I didn't watch all his video's, but I loved everything I saw him in.
The original GOEMON!? I played a translated ROM of the original. The only one I played other than Goemon's Great Adventure for the N64.
I had to laugh at polka-ska. When I was young and first got into ska music, my mom would always call it polka...
Although it's not a common case, sometimes the Japanese version will end up being better than its U.S. counterpart, despite having less memory available. No need for converter, I'll just get a long nose pliers and snap the blocker left and right where the cartridge are put in.
Well done Pat.
I enjoy your reviews!!!
With that hair he could have gone Wolverine style :D
if you dont know who justin is it is jewwario or justin carmical
2:10 thats perfect logic. hahahahahaha
Good tribute to justin pat
Use some Brasso and qtips to clean that stuff off your honeybee. Yes, Brasso, the brass polish.
love these videos.
I miss Justin too.
1942 is how I first learned when WWII took place.
hahahha ure hilarious man, i always enjoy your game reviews
I was waiting for the third beach gag...
